23 lbs in 2 months! That is awesome. I wouldn't say that is meager. Keep it up.

Add a little more every day. When I started running again after about 5 years off I had to start from scratch. I would walk 5 min and run 1 or 2. Then I slowly reversed that until I was running 10 and walking 1 or 2 min. I did this over a 3.5 mile route. I took me about 3 weeks doing this 3 or 4 times per week to run the…

This is a great site. Lots of resources and easy to work with. Add me as a friend if you want.

Add me as a friend if you would like. Counting the calories is easy. You don't really need to look anything up. Most items or similar in the MFP database. The hardest part is the portion size. I try to figure out what a cup of something is and then base it on that. Good luck

Add me if you would like. The support really helps.

Usaully when I start that emotional eating I can't sit still and keep walking around the house and inevitably by the pantry where all the kids snacks are. What I have been doing to stop that is just leaving the house and walking around outside to try to stop the urge. It has been working so far. Good luck!

I kind of know what a cup of food looks like so I try to pick out things on the list that have measurements in cups. Otherwise I use the packaging or something on the list that I know is similar. I think I overestimate sometimes though.

It will good luck.

Nice. 30lbs is a lot. Keep up the good work.

It is funny how people on this site have so much advice about why things are happening. It happens to all of us who have tried to lose weight in the past. I think your body is adjusting. In the past I have lost quick pounds, then nothing. When I keep it up it starts coming off again. Just keep working at it.

Great site and very supportive. Add me as a friend if you want.

If you can't get to the gym try walking in the snow. Seriously. Have you ever tried walking through a foot or more of snow. You have to really pick up your legs to move. Plus you are most likely wearing heavy boots adding to the exercise.

Will be going to Denver for a conference next week and have to take some clients out to dinner. Based on this topic I did some research and it looks like this meal, no matter how careful I am, will use up my daily calorie goal and then some. I may just decide to eat half of the servings to try an soften the impact. Looks…

Someone who is easy to talk to. Someone who understands what you mean even if you don't say it the right way. And someone who understands when you are joking around. And I have found it. Becareful what you wish for in honesty ladies. I read in a post where a boyfriend told his girlfriend he thought she was fat. He was…

Look for a running store in your area to help out or you can do some research on runnersworld.com and find a good sneaker to buy at any good sporting goods store.

Brownies and chocolate chip cookies. That is what got me in the shape I am in.

That is the thing about losing weight. You don't notice it until you do. You keep looking and looking. The all of a sudden the clothes are a little looser, you just feel different. Then you start to notice it. Good luck. Keep it up.

Take a look at how this runner describes his attempt at barefoot running. Like I said I don't run barefoot, but the stride and landing are what I try to mimic in my runs. It has been great on my joints and leg muscles. http://well.blogs.nytimes.com/2009/10/05/the-roving-runner-goes-barefoot/

Please don't land on your heel. I use to run like this and my knees would really be in severe pain. I did some reading on how to run, and especially barefoot running. I don't run barefoot but I try to mimic the stride as if I were bare foot. When you run barefoot your body goes into its natural stride, much shorter than…

Good running shoes and take it slow. One thing you should always do to avoid shin splints (that is probably what you have) is to stretch your claf muscles really well after running. You get sore shins because the muscle on the front of your leg is fighting against the calf muscle to control your foot. If your calf muscle…

I have tried them all. Not this one specifically. But what I have found is that if you reduce the number of calories you take in, eat healthy and exercise you will lose weight and the fat belly. It takes time though.

Go ahead and add me. We all need help.

Good luck. Great site!

Like everyone is saying your body thinks it is being starved and starts storing rather than using. If you stay around what is recommended you will be fine. None of the information I have read recommends more than 2 lbs per week. This results in a slow and gradual loss or toning rather than a steep loss and then a steep…

Find an exercise that would closely resemble what you did, such as walking or jogging and use that? Or you could search for something on line and enter your calories burned and create a new activity for all of us to use.

I am in, but I will hopefully lose more by then. Need the motivation because I am running a half marathon on Memorial Day. I definitely need the push.

1270 I haven't done it for 2 weeks and gained a pound. I have to be more disciplined. I have started running so that has balanced things out.
