  • Ok Since I seem to be one of the few commenting who has been both obese and pregnant I would like to give you a bit of advice. Being a healthy weight before you start anything is a good idea. Being fit is an even better idea. The concern I have might be that someone who has worked hard to "get fit" before becoming…
  • Wow then I must be one lucky ***** in accordance with 90% of these posts. When I first met my second husband I was welll .... a lot pregnant. If it wasn't for my intelligence he might have never given me a second look. (however I do have to say that spell check is my best friend because spelling is very difficult for me)
  • Brown rice, Dried beans, frozen veg (you get more for your money but is sometimes cheaper than fresh) The discount bin for fruit or veg for that day saves money too. If you discount bin meat remember to use it THAT day or freeze it as soon as you get home. I make my own wheat bread (less salt and no preservatives). I have…
  • I am not an expert either but from what I have read if you are trying to maintain your weight then you would also have to "eat back" the calories burnt during work out so you are even and not at a deficit. Your work out might need a revamp as well. if you can talk to an expert and get their advice I would suggest it :).…
  • If you are doing it for you well then it will be worth every second of the fight. Let him know this is important for your health and you want to continue because it makes you healthier. Maybe just maybe he feels threatened by your new found ability .. not saying you should stop but I think communication is the answer here.…
  • Dry cereal (healthy choices of course) Carrot sticks Apples Grapes (my favorite) Homemade bread (allrecipies.com has some good ones) dry roasted low salt peanuts (Almonds are better) There are lots of choices just depends on what you want .. remember read packages
  • I have RA through most of my body it hurts to work out it really does but sometimes I push through because in the end losing the weight will help ease the pain in the long run. Find something that works for you Water aerobics for bad knees and legs are a good start most YMCA's have those classes. Good Luck
  • If you have problems with the muscle build add weight ... no not like that place wrist and or ankle weights on during your walks you are still "lifting" weight but while doing something you enjoy .. sometimes tweeking something you like works best.
  • Here is something I learned .. sounds stupid but denying yourself all those sweet little treats for the rest of your life probably isn't going to work very well. small treats a small slice of cake (take what you would normally eat and cut it in half to start with then make it even smaller). Keep on trying that is what is…
  • Well kudos on not needing to loose too much! You also have to account for extra walking you might have done as well. Gym time does not mean healthy weight/body. I can't afford a gym membership so I walk and do yoga and such available online. From the sound of the veg you do like sounds like you have an amazing pasta sauce.…
  • Cheese. I can't eat just one slice .. I end up eating four or five pieces if not a 1/2 pound block ... so limiting my intake :)
  • Way to go! 31 Pounds lost is amazing! I am celebrating little successes Like being able to take a hard path at our nature center and still breath at the end :) being at the pool and being able to get out with out feeling like a beached whale .. (my knees are not the best so lifting over 300 pounds out of water up steps was…
  • I just want to get to a weight I can see my feet at after that we will see. I have never been exceptionally skinny ... ever. I have always at least been in the mid to high 100's and I was comfortable there. So we will see where this takes me. In the end your goal should be about what is comfortable (and healthy) for you.…
  • Height 5' Highest weight 337 (I have been kind of hiding that one) Lowest weight .... Not really sure I weighed about 160 a million years ago Current weight is 298 Goal is 180 ... I know that is still obese for my height but I am setting a decent goal so I don't get too discouraged. My main goal is more to get into shape…
  • Sorry I missed it yesterday :) Some days are much harder than others and try not to beat yourself up over small issues. I don't exercise everyday. But using this system helped me realize I have been eating horribly wrong. It is a tool and like any other it depends on how you use it. Best of luck and keep it up!
  • Just remember you are kicking *kitten*. You are there and you are working on it and if they stare well that is their problem. You are doing what you need to don't let gawkiness ruin your effort.
  • Salad in a mason jar.. no really it works. you put your measured amount of dressing (if you use it) in the bottom. then put in your salad makings cap it off and throw it in the fridge at work but standing on it's cap end. When it is time to eat you have a cool salad that is covered with dressing but isn't more than you…
  • Ok sweating is not indicative of burning calories. Unless you sit and sweat or sweat when you breath and so on. House cleaning is usually full body reaching for this bending and picking up that pulling garbage, and so on. If you are running the vacuum around for ten minutes since most are self propelled no that is not a…
  • There are A LOT of exercises you can do sitting or low foot impact. Biking, lifting while sitting, and arm stretches (w/ band) are just a few. The suggestion about shoe inserts might just be helpful. I can not deny myself the less than healthy foods. When I do I end up going over board. Remember it isn't about NOT eating…
  • Alright hon when they are referring to processed sugars they are talking about processed starch/carb foods. Spaghetti Noodles breads things like that. Being under your count by too far can cause a plateau as well staying close is you best bet. If the weight isn't "coming off" maybe try with measurements instead for…
  • First stop kicking your own butt about it. It is done no use getting your self up in a tissy. You where strong enough to get there before and you will again. (btw nothing is forever) Weight will fluctuate do to stress, periods, and the such. Just put your nose back on that grind stone I haven't gotten very far this time…
  • I suggest using the hills. Moving at half pace up hill burns more calories because you are constantly moving to adjust and keep steady. If you do not eat enough you WILL gain weigh and of not lose any. Your body moves into reserve mode and wont burn anything that isn't absolutely necessary. I am far from your situation I…
  • Ok hon w/ the deficit already in place just keep in mind to keep track. Eating too little can be just as bad as eating too much. That has been MY weight loss challenge. So I eat what I am going to through the day (just starting) then I check everything. I even put tea in as it has calories despite what some might think :)…
  • Acute Bronchitis again ... every time this year .... taking meds ... on the up side I drink more water when I am sick ... down side I am also a grumpy bear so either way ... Everyone feel better soon :flowerforyou:
  • If you decide to stop that is your choice ... but if it has been helping perhaps a "come back tour" is in order. We all get distracted, we all have "bad days" when we eat things we know we shouldn't. Move on keep going. I know getting an Babe you look great! is confirmation to what we are doing but if you are only doing it…
  • I know the feeling I despise going past the bakery or chip aisle. But here is the good news ... if you feel a deep craving for these foods (some of us have built a dependency as comfort foods) Try popcorn chicken instead of a fried chicken breast (you will think you are eating more and intake less) A small bag of chips now…
  • I can relate. I am at the point of no more excuses too. I have 174 to lose before I am "BMI Healthy weight" However I am shooting for a more realistic goal right now of 225. Remember small steps at first then jumping forward. Hope you find what you need to help on here. Light and Blessings
