As cliche as it is? One day at a time. This is my 3rd time back on MFP. I told myself to take a year & see what happens. I'm pretty damn proud (and shocked if I were honest about it) of how far I've come in the 429 days I've tracked solid now. You'll have slips, just don't throw away all the progress you do make. And…

I love going early morning because I just feel better throughout the day. Even tho I'm in a smaller city I still stick to well lit sidewalks & I don't wear earphones so I'm more aware of my surroundings. I only hit the hike & bike during daylight hrs or w/ a walking partner after dark because crime can happen anywhere.…

Yes to the point I said forget losing. Then an epiphany,,,,,we're always complaining of how fast a yr goes so I decided to give it just a yr. 14 months straight logging now & don't plan on leaving here or stopping what I'm doing any time soon! Give it time & you'll get there.

Bump for recipes!

I started seriously getting myself together after the 3rd yr being diagnosed pre-diabetic & high cholesterol. The kicker was being put on a blood pressure med because it started creeping up. I so hate taking pills & I'm trying to get off them! As to the blood work? All good now & I just plan on getting it better! Good…

Just stick with it. Don't let one bad choice during the day dictate how the rest of the day goes. Start out 1 meal at a time, then one day at a time, etc. I've been logging just shy of a year & it's been amazing! Make friends! Their support will be phenomenal! You welcome to send me a friend request. I don't do negative…

My body didn't start acting crazy til about 6 months into my new way of eating/exercising. I watched things for a few months & since it got worse instead of better I went in for testing. I actually found out I wasn't producing progesterone which was causing almost non-stop cycles or very few days off between them. If you…

Feel free to send me a request. I've been on awhile but didn't get consistent until mid-July 2013. My ticker doesn't show much more to go but I haven't set my ultimate goal yet but it's probably going to be about another 50-55 lbs to go. Here's something to think about. Mid-July last year someone made the comment about the…

I think mostly because of the high sodium level. But I still have my Progresso soups for an easy lunch in a pinch!

You are awesome! Thanks for sharing and reminding me to celebrate each step toward success instead of looking at the long road still ahead!

I always weigh raw whenever possible. As to the weight after it's cooked will depend on how long it's cooked. Ex - steak....rare, med-rare etc will contain more juices. The more it's cooked, the moisture content will be less therefore weigh less.....hope that helps :)

Bump for recipe! Thx!!

Amazing job! You look great. And like I tell my hubby, I'm going to have skin issues when this is done. As long as I look good clothed I don't care. As for my hubby, he loves me fat so what's the difference with the loose skin? At least I'll be doing everything I can to be in good health so we have as much time together as…

What helped me the most was making friends on here. The encouragement is phenomenal & really helps me. Feel free to send a friend request. I'm on always off & on the site throughout the day. Good Luck!

Determination. I've lost most of my weight by just counting calories. But as I've lost it makes me want to exercise to help it along even more. I've also found making friends on here helps a lot too! :flowerforyou:

Dannon Oikas has a French Onion dip that's awesome. 25 cals for 2 TBSP. I eat it w/ veg, chips & even love it on my baked potatoes! Yum!

^^^^This! The looks on their faces when I just say counting calories & a little walking! Their disappointment is soooo evident! But back on the subject. There's nothing wrong with surgical remedies if nothing else has worked. At least she still took control of the situation and did what she had to do to get healthier.

You're one of many that keep me going! :flowerforyou:

Sort of! I started Jan 2013 and fell off like some of us do. Cussed myself out in July & have been logging ever since! :drinker:

And this. I wasn't getting any compliments unless I pretty much asked for them. I finally snapped on him at this. I told him he should be my biggest supporter and wasn't and that was a damn shame. He's never been very verbal, that's just his way. I've learned that sometimes you just have to spell it out to people what you…
