Great! And I've read about .5 grams of fat per pound, which is about 50 grams a day. And the rest is carbs! I think I'm set now. Thank you so very much!

Thank you so much for your input! I have tried a couple of those electronic body scanner things (one at the pharmacy and one on my scale at home) and they generally give me a body fat percentage between 14 and 18%. Don't know how accurate they are, but they almost always give me a number in that range...

So, I'm eating way too much protein, huh? Any idea whether I should do about 25% fat or a aim for a certain gram amount? It seems like those of us who are slim and eat lots of calories have a big difference between percentages and a certain number of grams per pound of body weight.

So now I'm thinking about starting back to lifting more in January along with a slow reverse diet and then really start my bulk in February. Although to be clear, I am at maintenance now and have never dieted.

I'm breastfeeding so my maintenance right now is between 2500 and 3000 calories. Bulking is going to be fun :-) I do have 12 pounds weights at home for light weightlifting workouts and can go on long walks/short jogs with my kiddo in his stroller.

If I knew the exact recipe for these cookies, I'd find some time to make them. I'm a working mom and at the end of the day, I want a cookie already made. I don't have the time or energy to try out recipes for the perfect cookie :-)

Thank you so much for your input!! I do strength training but need bodyfat as well as muscle. Im kinda seeing this as a "dirty bulk." I need to gain weight, period, and want to increase muscle while I'm at it.

I think it monitors calories burned but I don't know how it computes that number. I'd love to know how accurate it is!

Well, the story is that I'm eating close to 3000 calories and I'm a 5'8", 116 pounds, 35-year-old woman. She was curious about why my bmi is so low and suggested a Fitbit to see if I'm burning a ridiculous amount of calories during the day and to see about how much I should be eating.

I've talked with my midwive the last two checkups. She says that as long as the baby is measuring well - and it is! - she's not concerned. The baby is super healthy by every test they've done and she is not the least bit concerned about my weight.
