you will possibly loose anywhere from 2-4lbs the first week, then it will most likely taper off to around 1lb a week, so give or take a few weeks here and there, i would guess at 58-60 weeks. of course everyone is different, so you might find it takes you less time or maybe more, the only way to know is to give it a go.…

Hi, qourn pieces fried in a teeny tiny bit of oil, or a splash of water, with some peppers, onion, garlic, and either a splash of soy sauce or some spices, jerk or cajun seasoning works well. put on a bed of salad leaves, add chopped tomato and cucumber, if you have the calories spare you can even dress the salad with a…

you are unlikely to go into starvation mode at 1200, that is why MFP sets it as the lowest it will give you, however it is NOT the holy grail of calories, some people can go lower than this and some need more, depending on their age, height, weight, lifestyle etc. for instance, i find i dont loose weight at 1200, i have to…

broccoli cooks so quick on the hob there is really no need to microwave it, however if for some reason (perhaps you don not have access to a hob) you have to use the microwave then yes, cover with a little water, and put a lid on it and cook in microwave for somewhere between 2-7mins , i would prob test it at 3mins,…

I also bring my own popcorn and chocolate and drink to the cinema with me. just take a good sized handbag and stuff it in there, if they are likely to check your bags (which they dont here anymore) put a cardigan or jumper in it on top :-) i would much rather know exactly how many calories i am consuming and that i dont…

I have it on the PS3 and love it. I started off doing the programs on it but now i just make my own custom workouts so that i can concentrate on working the areas i want to tone or get a lot of cardio in if i want and find that works best for me. also means if there are any exercises you just hate and would always skip,…

Well done you for managing your weight YOUR way. it sounds like your mum is a bit like my nan who i lived with for 2years when i first lost weight, she too believes its a competition and gets jealous of me and my body (i was 25 at the time and she was in her 60's) good luck, congratulations on getting this far and keep at…

just seen your reply above my first respone and if you like trimmed to the bone, no filler books, then The Killer is for you :-) it's the authors debut novel and i really want him to do well with it so hoping to encourage more and more readers to give it a go. you could get it from the library or as an ebook that way if…

it will hurt you less than not eating them! however, i suggest for future you try to eat more throughout the day, give yourself some snacks before supper time, eat some fruit or nuts or protein bar, or snack on a can of low cal tuna mayo, have a big lunch, or start your day off with a nice big breakfast. good luck to you…

Hi, I also don't go up to 1200, if i do, i just dont loose any weight, or i do but only about 0.5lb a week, which just isnt enough for my time frame and patience, lol. so i stick with a net calorie of between 1000-1100, not panicking if i am under or over by around 30 cals either way. thats, if i do no exercise i consume…

I have a suggestion, but its not exactly covered by any of those topics, it is fiction and an awesome book, even if i am a little biased (i happen to know the author.) but would still recommend it even if i didnt know him :-) anyway, in case you, or anyone else on here fancies reading a high octane thriller/action novel,…

skimmed milk, its like 0.1% fat or lower, and you can use it for everything you would use milk for, and doesnt taste an different to 1% milk so no getting used to different tastes or textures :-)

i used to have a similar problem when my commute/work day was 12-13 hours 5days a week, and i had to be out the door by 7.30am otherwise iw ould be an hour+ late for work, and as a temp, that just wasnt feasible, so i did my workouts in the evening, my brother now does the same as he has the same issue. you just get up go…

this is the one i have too. you can measure in pounds, kilos or stone and it measures body fat %, muscle mass % water % BMI and BMR, you can also save different profiles in it too, so i have one in pounds and my other half has his in stone, you enter your age and height for these profiles which is how you get your %'s and…

let me add, that i dont intend to wear either all day, just for the time i am out hiking, also, will altitude affect either? does anyone know if cardiotrainer, which uses gps for the pedometer, use 3g or any data connection or is it just gps? sorry, i know this is a lot of questions, the hrm i was looking at getting is…

i agree, sounds like lightly active at least to me. sedentrary is litterally sitting on your bum all day, like me, then any activity you do, you log as exercise. i also noticed that my sedentary and lightly active calorie goals were exactly the same by the MFP automatic settings. however, i use my own goals that i know…

I have the same problem, I'm 126.2lbs at the moment and desperate to get down to 115, 119 is my first goal, but 115 is what i would love to be and its soooo damn hard to loose these last 10/11 pounds, ive tried eating my exercise calories, not eating them, eating 1100, 1200, all sorts and it just wont budge and i had hoped…

dieting and a whole heap of other factors affect your monthly flow, stress is a major factor and has caused me to either miss mine, or at times given me a little extra visit from 'aunt flo' so dont panic, also, the worrying about why its not there yet can cause it to stay away. its fine, maybe get it checked out if its not…

somehow it was on the sofa, which i tore apart looking for it, then when i was sat on it yesterday i saw something silvery out of the corner of my eye, thought, no it can't be, but it was :-) after having already broken the news it ws lost to my other half. needless to say, we were both very relieved :-)

or maybe some of us just dont need 1200 calories a day, i actually loose weight best if i stick at 1000-1100 net a day on a day when im up and about from 7-11 if i have a lay in, i only need around 850-950 net a day, because its all my little body with a fat belly needs. that 1200 number is just a blanket number, we are…

i think suring the working week your only hope is to try and take the kids out to the park, if there is somewhere you can walk to and from, if you get a heart rate monitor it might help you see how many calories you are burning. i imagine you will be surprised at just how many youll burn pushing a pram or carrying an…

SAME HERE TOO. I'm currently at 126.4lbs but seem to fluctuate between 126- 131 and desperate to get down to 119, possibly a little lower once i get there depending on what my body looks like then. i think i got down to 119 a few years ago, i say think because the scales i was using then weren't the most reliable. :-s but…

when i lost lots of weight a few years ago, i was working 9-5 but leaving for work at 7.30 and getting home at 7.30 4days a week due to commutes, the other working day i stayed at a friends house who lived nearer my work :-) i found that i had to have a light dinner as soon as i got home and then wait an hour and then…

there are loads, rice, hemp pea, whey, all sorts, have a look at myprotein.com they do the brown rice powder, but apparently its like drinking sand, i have never tried it but my other half took this for a while whilst he was laying off the soya produce, he also says that whey protein powder is the most common and can be…

plain hummus is delicious but recently i discovered caramelised onion flavour from tesco, OMG AMAZING!!! definitely recommend it. however, its not the lowest of calorie options for snacks etc, altho it is pretty healthy. everything in moderation as the saying goes :-) x

My BF knows about it and necourages me to log my cals and weight on it all the time but then he is very supportive and encouraging of my weight loss journey in general, so i guess im lucky :-)

does it have a heart rate monitor? does it tell you the calories burned? i also have a ps3 and do the ea sports active 2 workouts with the hrm etc that come with it and just manually add my own exercise and cals that it tells me i have burnt off. its really good, if you make your own workouts on it, i butn around 350-390…
