my husband is a news junkie and apparently there's a big stir about chinese honey flooding our markets which can potentially be unsafe... we buy organic local just about everything including honey regardless but that's my two cents!

i also always pick what i'm going to eat ahead of time and generally log it ingredient by ingredient as well. don't forget to add in oil it was probably cooked in, sauces etc. and typically i only eat half of what i order and bring the other half home (or let my hubby eat it!) good luck!

maybe one night a week you cook something healthy or that isn't on his list (trying to do your best to keep it not TOO far away from his comfort zone at first) and ask him to try it. TRY it. even just a bite or two. and if he would prefer after he's tried the new option, you have a premade meal from his list for him to…

you look wonderful! so happy and healthy. enjoy your new life!

i've only lost 2 pounds - some days it's only 1lb and a few days last week was 4lbs, but usually i'm about 2lbs less than when i started january 1st. buttttt i'm definitely down inches. i look better and feel stronger. sure it's frustrating that the scale doesn't move but i figure it'll catch up eventually. don't give up!…

on egg sandwiches too! yum!

you look amazing!

don't boil them! i've never noticed an overwhelming smell when pan-frying them (sometimes i don't even use oil, just slice and throw 'em in a hot pan) or roasting them in the oven.

slice them. throw 'em in a skillet with a little olive oil on medium high. cook 4-5 minutes until they're getting browned. add in minced garlic - i use quite a bit! add some red pepper flakes. keep browning until some bits are charred and crispy and delicious. sometimes i pan fry them the same way but throw in cranberries…

i'm in the exact same boat. i've been bouncing between only 1 and 2 lbs lost since i started this january 1st. haven't gone over my allotted calories once and exercise 3x a week. i was expecting WAY more progress by now but i have lost inches and my clothes fit better so SOMETHING Is happening, just not weight loss! i've…

depends on the type of hot yoga - in power or flow classes there's almost no holding of poses. it's moving the whole time. try it some time - it's addictive!

there was a thread on here a while back about both hot yoga and bikram not actually burning those high estimates when using heart rate monitors. if i remember correctly, most of the people who used hrm's found 75 min hot yoga classes burned around 300-400 calories. i do hot yoga (baptiste power vinyasa) 3x a week and…

1600 calories a day regardless of if i exercise or not.

i like to live on the edge and don't do anything to "prepare" for storms! i'm just hoping it doesn't get too bad until after my hot yoga class this evening!

i'm 5'6'' and currently 158 and aiming to get down to 130. i have been gaining and losing the same two pounds since i started a few weeks ago but have lost a few inches and am being patient and hoping eventually the scale catches up!
-
i'm in the same boat and just keep re-reading posts like these and reminding myself to stay motivated and keep doing what i'm doing. it seems like it's pretty common for it to take weeks or months for the scale to catch up but it eventually does so we're on the right path. don't feel like you're alone - i'm just as eager…

i have these in my freezer all the time for a quick breakfast for my husband or i. i use high fiber whole grain english muffins, eggs that i bake in muffin tins in the oven and a slice of american cheese on each. wrap 'em in foil and put them in the freezer. sometimes i add green peppers and onion to them or use different…

i use quinoa ALL THE TIME!!! here's some of my favorites that i have bookmarked. they're all veg (as am i!) but i'd guess you could add meat if you need to? i never follow recipes exactly, i use whatever i have in my kitchen and generally add more spices/flavoring than called for but these are a great start:…

lifelong vegetarian here! feel free to add me...i'm new here too and don't have any friends yet! (that sounds so sad...haha!)

i agree that you could add a piece of fruit to your juice to sweeten it up but watch out for juices made from just fruits - they can be very high in calories! try different combinations and see what works for you. for example - a lot of veg juice recipes call for kale but that has a pretty intense taste so you could swap…

i love my juicer! i don't juice fast or replace meals with juice though - i just think it tastes great and makes me feel wonderful. i like being able to use up all the leftover fruits and veggies from my week in one easy drink. i do buy organic but that's just personal preference. there are tons of juice recipes online but…
