  • What BrianSharpe said. I'd see a qualified phyisical therapist or massage therapist and definitely invest in a foam roller and the "The Stick" Must haves in every runners arsenal. Better to miss your half marathon if you have to than to aggravate an injury and be out for months. Good luck to you.
  • I'll admit. I'm obsessed. I weigh more than once a day sometimes but always in the morning. I know that daily fluctuations occur. I know that water weight changes frequently. I just like to see how time of day, hydration and exercise change throughout the day.
  • Agreed with what most are saying here. If you go over one day you can make it up the next. For myself I'm not binding myself to absolutes. This is a journey for me and a lifestyle change. If it takes me 16 weeks or 20 weeks to get to my goal I'm ok with that. That's not to say that I'm not being disciplined though. I…
  • I like the replacing thin with healthy part. For men extra belly fat can double hear attack risk. It just makes sense to be at a healthy weight. For me a big part of losing my excess weight is for the purpose of athletic performance. 20 pounds will have a huge impact on my running times. Can't wait to run my next marathon…
  • Personally I think a binge once in a while is not a bad thing. It let's your body know that it's not starving. Like one poster said you would have to eat 3500 calories above your maintenance number so I wouldn't worry too much. As stated by others don't undereat the next day, instead maybe do some extra cardio if you are…
  • After I posted this I found a site that gave some multipliers to use if you can't weigh your meat before cooking. Thanks for the replies!
  • Here is a good thread: http://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/discussion/818082/exercise-calories-again-wtf/p1
  • Do you guys weigh meat before or after cooking?
  • I have no scientific basis for my reply but in my opinion I think it depends on where you have your bmr activity level set. I myself set my activity level at sedentary even though I exercise I lot. For my weight loss goal my daily intake is around 1250. If I burn 800 calories on an 8 mile run I can either eat 2050 calories…
  • awesome. Keep it up! Next up 5k and before you know it you'll be running marathons!
  • I don't want to be skinny but I don't want to be fat either. Its a balance. For me losing weight has a few purposes. I think confidence is a factor. I want to be able to take my shirt off in public and not worry about my gut. It's a health issue too. It's proven that the middle aged man spare tire is just not healthy. It…
