That's great, Leela! Keep up the good work. :)

Awesome!

My motivation for weight loss right from the start was health issues. I don't think it would change anything for me. I'd still lose.

WTG! You'll be a runner before you know it. ;-)

My favorite lately is grilled chicken and veggies and a salad.

Keep away from people who try to belittle your ambitions. Small people always do that, but the really great make you feel that you, too, can become great. - Mark Twain

A few ... increased fitness and better fitting clothes, especially.

I don't set mini goals with weight loss. For whatever reason, that just frustrates me. I do, however, set up mini goals with fitness. For running, my first goal was a mile, then 5K, then 10K, and now I'm working on a half marathon, with the final goal of a full marathon. A sense of accomplishment is my reward.

Maybe a weekly workout challenge?

Exercise challenge looks good. Food challenge .... can't think of a new one either but maybe we could repeat one.

On vacation, I eat pretty much the same, allowing for a treat here and there. My kids have always eaten the same meals. And now that they're teens/young adults, I see that it is paying off. The majority of their diet is fresh fruits, veggies, and lean protein ... by their own choice. Healthy food might seem more expensive…

I'm still here. I haven't lost anything still but I haven't given up. I'm glad that things are settling a little for you, Leela. Things are starting to pick back up for me now. I worked band camp this past week, rehearsals starting 2-3x a week next week, and school starts on the 22nd. Garrett, WTG on your progress!

We've had some serious questions this week so my QOTD is a fluff one. Friday QOTD: What is your all-time favorite movie? I have two all-time favorites ... The Princess Bride and Shawshank Redemption.

I've been trying to think how to write express these same thoughts. I dislike saying "me too" for two questions in a row but you put it so beautifully so ......... Me too! :)

I was wondering the same thing.

The majority of my shedding was done through changing my eating habits ... eating clean and, believe it or not, eating more. Once I got rid of the processed/junk food, I was amazed at how much I really needed to eat to fuel my body. My eating plan is, for the majority of the week, to eat lots of fresh veggies and fruit and…

I know how you feel. In general, I've been doing the right things but the scale is not moving. My clothes are fitting better (or getting too big) and my fitness has definitely improved. However, it would be nice to see that scale budge a little, KWIM? I've gotten a little down about it the past week or so. I'm still…

I agree! You are definitely our big winner (loser) for July! :) I remember that you blogged a few weeks ago about a dress for a wedding and you were worried about size. At the rate you are going, that dress is going to be too big!

In addition to what everyone else has mentioned, the quality of my calories matters. I feel so much better when I eat whole foods vs. processed foods. I like to push hard in exercise so I have to remember that I'm eating to fuel my body rather than just satisfy hunger.

1. I've been married for 20 years and have 4 children - 18, 17, 16, 13. The oldest two graduated high school in May. Yay! 2. I am a professional musician and music theorist, specializing in Russian music. 3. I speak 5 languages besides English - Russian and French fluently; Italian, Spanish, and German at varying degrees…

Flat for me ... nothing lost, nothing gained

Hi, fellow pinks! Good idea with this thread. :)

Best part of my summer so far ... celebrating my oldest two children's high school graduation. I've loved the tie I've had to spend with all 4 of my children. Winding down .... I'm having a hard time thinking about it. My semester will start on August 22 and I am not looking forward to it. I just keep telling myself, 2…

How are the challenges going? Ready for weigh in?
-
Don't have one, really.
-
I think it was about 10 lbs and 1 size down.
-
Leela and Ally, hang in there with your health and stress challenges. You both will be back on track and ready to kick butt soon. :)

I have not experienced any prejudice from other people due to weight but I have experienced insecurity due to my own self-image and self-esteem. To combat that, I made a choice to change those thought patterns and, eventually, to lose the weight and get in shape.

Where is everyone?
