This is true for me as well. So I don't keep sweets and chips around very often, although I will say that I did buy Girl Scout cookies in a weak moment. I haven't had any but the rest of the family has chowed down on them.

People do lose weight drinking shakes for numerous reasons including the fact that drinking shakes simplifies dieting and reduces the likelihood of making poor food choices. You do not need to add any steps. If you do additional exercise (such as biking) that your fitbit does not record, you can add that to MFP.
