My FT4 has a backlight.

I just got my FT4 not to long ago, and it's taught me alot already about where I'm at now fitnesswise, and should help me see changes as I improve. I thought I'd really hate the chest strap, but, I guess it's not that bad.
-
I guess seems weird, that your arms are then, helping out your legs?? I guess can turn up the tension so, that it's challenging for both?? Seems like that'd be tough to balance arm effort -vs- leg effort??
-
Yeah, I have the FT4, it doesn't do that(fitness test), only a couple models do. Check the Polar web site, it will tell you which ones have that feature.
-
I just got the Polar FT4, and really like it (so far). It's a little less money than some of the others suggested above, but, still covers most of the basics you'd want in a HRM.

[IMHO] Just do the disks you like, it's better than not doing any of it. I lift weights for upper body, and do P90X Plyo for my lower body. Once in awhile, I'll do some of the yoga, or stretching, or abs, but, mostly just the Plyo disk. [/IMHO]
-
Yup, P90X Abs is only 15 minutes, and Tony still says to NOT do it every day.

I think it has something to do with supposedly you can hyper-extend your knees, or something like that on elliptical. But, it's one of my favorites too.

Just a suggestion that might, maybe, help, go to a shoe store that specializes in running shoes. One with a good reputation, ask around your local running community, to find where they shop, chances are, they have sales people that can look at how you walk, and look at how your current shoes are wearing, and might be able…

My understanding, which could be wrong, is that dieting and cardio will lose weight non-indiscriminately everywhere on your body. If you want to spot-tone, curtain areas, then you about have to work that area, with at least light weights, for toning. Heavier weights will build more muscle, lighter weights to tone. But,…

We're thinking of picking one day of the month, that we can go to our favorite restaurant, as kind of a reward :-)
-
I'm very interested in getting the FT4, so, hopefully it isn't a quality issue?
-
Not to offend, and you don't have your pic on your profile, but, I'm guessing you're kind of hot, and guys tend to want to chat up a hot girl, ya know...

I try not to eat after 7:00pm, at the latest, so, by the time breakfast rolls around it's been 10+ hours since I've eaten anything, so, yeah, gotta get some nourishment in me. Don't know that it's healthy to go much longer than that between meals??
-
Just a suggestion: try searching youtube.com for whatever model you have. There might be some instructional videos for it.
-
Convenience, I don't see myself putting it on and off every time I work out.

anyone??

Try doing some simple yoga poses while watching TV. Just drop yourself down on the floor and do some simple: 1) plank(Push up in the up position) 2) optional(do one push up) 3) go into an upward dog(make sort of an upside down V, with your butt up in the air) 4) back to plank 5) optional(go back down for another push up)…

I bought my gf Zumba for Christmas, and she does it. I've tried doing a little bit of it with her, but, just can't move that fast. But, that is one thing I've heard about Zumba is it really is more for females, or male dancers. It's just a bit too dancy(fast) for the average guy, which I now agree with :-/

People leaving their towels on a machine they're not using, to "save" it for them, while they do something else, but, want to be able to come right back, basically using more than one machine/bench/etc at a time.

Don't forget you're suppose to tack "in bed" to the end of your fortune cookie!!

The site doesn't calculate weight training because there's too many variable to be accurate.

hmmmmm, my TDEE is 2477, and my BMR is 1942, but my recommended daily allowance as calculated by MFP is only 1460, so, MFP is recommending well below my BMR?? Just sayin... I'm new to calorie counting, I've always counted fat grams, as I've discovered, that doesn't work as well :-/
-
New to MFP and Loving it, but, also a little annoyed at the large number of inaccurate food entries in the database. Would be great if the site owners / moderators can do some fact checking of some kind to keep the database more accurate!!
-
Or, try almond butter, it's pretty good also.
-
I like dried pineapple, but, they are high in sugars, so, calories, but, not bad.

Did Shaolin and Wing Chun(Kung Fu) for approx 2-1/2 years, loved it, great workout, and great self-defense. I have looked, but can't find anything I like near where I live now. We were traditional, so, no ranks or belts. We did have to declare belts for a tournament once, but the school didn't promote it.

My 2 cents worth is, for females toning, I'd say max weight that you can still do 15 to 20 reps. If you can do more than 20 reps, it's too light. If you can't do at least 12 to 15, then it's too heavy.
