  • I don't even think I have the confidence to do this yet. Probably a good reason to try. The scale has been a beast for me lately and I'm afraid if I'm not very careful it will just spiral out of control. Plus, I think it may cause me some anxiety. Maybe in a few months I'll feel better about it...baby steps. This month…
  • My library doesn't have it - they'll probably order if, though, if I request it. Maybe I'll just get it on my phone...
  • Bahahahahahahaha - this killed me!!! I agree, I'm saving them, too (only mentally, though, because I'm too lazy to actually save them and re-open them). @moe0303 - Great job on the contest!!! I'm with you on the not cutting out all processed food (see above regarding laziness).
  • @lwhayes820 - Thanks! I'm in a pretty good groove, I'm happy this group has inspired you. It's definitely worth it to lift! @5minty - Welcome back to doing SL; I always feel better when I come back after an involuntary hiatus (injury, etc.) :) @DawnEmbers - Holy cow! 120 on the bench is pretty fantastic...I think I've only…
  • I cleaned my teeth off and it seems like it was some kind of staining - much better now, it came right off with a little dental scraping. Still - not the norm for me, but I'm glad that it wasn't the actual enamel turning yellow.
  • I'm gonna check it out!
  • Saturday morning lifts are my favorite - I'm always well rested and I don't usually have to rush through. 10 min warmup Squat: 2x5x45, 1x3x75, 5x5x110 OHP: 2x5x45, 5x5x65 Dead: 1x5x120 Going pretty good...
  • Annoyingly none of the laser treatments will work for me (home or otherwise) - at least that's what I've been told because I have red hair. Lucky, right? Thankfully it's not terrible. I have to pluck some and shave some, but many have it far worse than I do. I just remind myself of that and I have tweezers everywhere you…
  • I love the flat-out things. I use them to make pizza, as my "burrito" on taco night and I've used them for wraps as well. I don't eat them often, but they're really handy for times like that.
  • 1/2 the battle is recognizing where you're failures are - the other 1/2 is fixing them. So onward with that, fix it up. It's a new month today, make a goal and stick with it! You can do it ;)
  • I never eat before I lift. Ever. I don't even have coffee..just water. It's too early for me to even consider thinking about food and I don't have time to eat anyways. Since it's a 5:45 wake up I'm cutting it pretty close with getting it done, getting showered and ready and out the door by 7:15 so I'm not late to work.…
  • I do pretty well with increasing the weight on squats for the most part. My legs are my powerhouse so you would think that I'd love squats. Nope. I've grown to tolerate them as a necessity, though, and I've found that since I de-loaded from 130 it's less difficult to convince myself to do them. I've been creeping up really…
  • Face, chest, stomach - it seems totally impossible to ever lose in the arms and legs.
  • Been a few days since I've logged here, but I've been diligent with the lifts - missed one planned day of cardio. Summary: Thursday, lifts, standard weights I've been using Friday: missed cardio, had a mini road trip and was gone all day. Saturday: extended warmup (20 minutes/20 movements instead of 10 min), lifts, bumped…
  • Lifts today - 10 minutes of movements on 5 stupid hours of sleep. It nearly killed me. Squats: 2x5x45, 1x3x75, 5x5x110 OHP: 5x5x60 Reads: 1x5x115 Glad I pushed through - sleepy or not...
  • Ditto - so sad
  • I don't mind exercising but I LOVE to eat
  • I lift 3 days a week (Strong lifts) and cardio 2 days for now (in the winter months it's treadmill...mix of jogging, walking, incline walks, etc.). When it's nice enough I pull the bike out and from time to time we hit up the kayaks. Haven't done that in a while, but am hugely looking forward to the warmer weather for that…
  • Still going - I have a slight tendency to fall off of my check-ins but I haven't given up so yay for that! Yesterday: SL Squats: 2x5x45, 1x3x74, 5x5x110 (finally bumped up 5lb and it was fine, plan is to stick here for a week or two before the next bump up - slow and steady, ya know?!) Bench: 2x5x45, 5x5x70 Row: 5x5x70…
  • I made my Saturday lifts, felt pretty good - Sunday I cleaned like crazy for 4 hours - Today is a rest day :)
  • I personally believe the weight goal can vary hugely based on body shape. I am 5' 7.5" and 169 right now - I've been about 155 and I like that look, so that's where I'm headed. Honestly, though, I would be happy I think with 160, too. I have a large frame, wide hips - so I'll never be a size 2, ever. Even at 155 I was only…
  • Another ridiculously tired day for me, but I forced myself out of bed and on to the treadmill for 35 minutes. I didn't have it in me to run, so I just walked on an incline. It was hard enough...I hope this phase of craptastic sleep ends soon...
  • Beer generally hurts my belly, so I don't miss it much. From time to time, though, I could see me wanting one. Perhaps in the summer time. We have a beer fest in our town every September that I like. You can sample a bunch of them...I doubt I'll do it, though. It hurt my belly prior to LCHF, so I can only imagine the agony…

  • So far so good with the shoulder! I'm so happy it seems to not have been anything serious :) 10 minutes of warmup movements (used any squat sets to warmup with the bar instead of do the movement in the program - saved me time). Squat: 2x5x45, 1x3x75, 5x5x105 Bench: 2x5x45, 5x5x70 (deloaded 15 lbs here to ease back in and…
  • Generally 3 meals a day...I'll snack if I need to, but it's not all that often. Sometimes I don't do breakfast either, so that drops me to 2 meals. I am less hungry for sure, and don't have many cravings at all. In fact, it's SO hard to even decide what sounds good to eat. Weird.
  • It seems like everyone is having some sleeping issues lately - I wonder if it's the seasons changing! Crazy. I just sat through an hour long meeting that I id the head bob and jerk multiple times in. It's bad. Which leads me into how my workout was this morning: Treadmill. I ran a mile at 5.5 mph and it was torturous. I…
  • Thanks everyone, I'm going to work on trying a few of these. I've encouraged him gently to not use the screens in the room, but he is a terrible sleeper and when he can't sleep it's just what he does. He doesn't think the screens effect him...science or not. He thinks it can effect different people differently. I don't…
  • I'm taking Nature's Way Magnesium Complex, citrate blend. I'm going to skip it tonight and take it either with breakfast or lunch...worth a shot. The shoddy sleep quality lately is relatively new to me - and consequently, so is the magnesium.
  • @Sunny_Bunny_ I do use sleep cycle...it has definitely helped me wake up easier. I've been using it for almost two weeks and I think it's really cool...especially since I've been feeling not so rested when I wake up. My average over the days I've been using it, in terms of sleep quality, is around 70%. Could be worse, I…
  • I'm not stressed..my husband uses his iPad next to me at night. It doesn't keep me from falling asleep, though (most of the time). He has recently started snoring, too, though - although I don't find that the snoring wakes me up. If I wake up (to pee or whatever), it's harder to fall back to sleep. Maybe I should wear my…
