  • He would be sued for sure. Just because a patient doesn't follow the suggestions, physicians typically don't drop them... or if they do, they HAVE to be careful in how the document what happened. If it were the case that docs dropped patients simply because they didn't follow advice -- no one would ever go to their doctor…
  • I love the barcode scanner - removes this from being a barrier. For fresh foods, I quickly do a scan and see if there is one that matches what I've looked up myself. If it does, I use it and confirm it... if not, I create new.
  • Doctor was wrong to say it was policy - but right to insist it was in her best interests and the safest option.
  • For the record, he means the PHOTOS are too large!
  • Change out the capitalized IMG for lowercase ones: img on both ends of the picture string. Congrats on your progress!
  • My mom died as a direct result of her diabetes, poor eating, sedentary lifestyle, and cardiac disease. I was over 500 pounds and on my way right behind her, just 40 years younger. I was lucky enough to be able to care for her the last few weeks of her life, and it was the best incentive I could imagine. After that, I just…
  • I LOVE CSA'S!! Unfortunately, I'm not partaking in one now, but I *loved* it when I did! I was an adventure and prompted me to try new things. Nothing ever went to waste because I would cube it up and freeze anything before it went bad and pop into smoothies or into a soup base. I wish I could find another one in Phoenix.
  • ... you left out the BEST.... Vitamix!!!! Love it for EVERYTHING from basic blending to pulverizing any combo of fruit/veggies into a smoothie to making hot and fresh tomato soup.
  • I use a few tablespoons of plain Greek yogurt, mix with a bit of cinnamon and nutmeg, and then sweeten slightly... we like Truvia to accomplish that, but honey, agave, or a bit of sugar would be delicious.
  • Unfortunately, no.... it's just a gathering place and a tool. One would HOPE people could exercise tolerance as well as their other muscles, but just like the real world... jerks abound. Of course with your wink, you probably already know that. LOL My sarcasm-font-reading ability is on the fritz as usual.
  • Mass respect in affect! Thank you for posting and sharing your story!
  • I think this gets to the heart of the matter. Some people DO care and DO judge... but it should be about what YOU think and care about. I will go out on a fragile limb here and prepare to be fried, but *I* have *been* a part of both parties. I've been judged (and yes, sometimes it's my perception of being judged and others…
  • So, you look fabulous in all of these pictures. But I have to respectfully challenge your post... the reason I love this thread is because it's about being proud in the NOW, perceived flaws and work-still-to-do-and all. You're a gorgeous woman and I'd bet even 12 pounds heavier you're still gorgeous. I want to see you…
  • I'll admit after reading the first 7 responses, I didn't read others so apologies if I'm restating what someone else may have said. I'm sorry for the responses that took up space on your thread to take up their own rant. Anyway, post away - it's why the forums are here. Ignore the haters (here and offline) and keep doing…
  • I prefer the weekend. It gives me more time to plan and cook at home... I'm lucky in that I find cooking relaxing, so it's a double win. My husband also likes to eat out on the weekends, but I've converted him to enjoying a glass of wine at home instead and indulging in food we make. I also am more active on weekends and…
  • Shredded chicken breast in a homemade BBQ sauce Fresh cut baked sweet potato fries Steamed broccolli And for dessert, strawberries over angel food cake with whipped cream (at least that's the PLAN!)
  • I appreciate your reflection and the time you took to write it. I can't say I agree with everything you said... and unfortunately, a lot of "normal" and "thin" people aren't healthy people. But I do agree with the quoted statement. Listening to our body cues is something I know I have to work on. My best to you!
  • I also have the 5200, purchased at CostCo, which I highly recommend. I had mine for almost a year and it died the day before Thanksgiving. Threw the whole thing into a bag and took it back to CostCo - they gave me a brand new one, no questions asked. I use mine just about every day for something. One of my favorite meals…
  • CONGRATULATIONS!!! You look amazing and so much younger!! What a fabulous job!
  • The smile (relief?) of the guilty.
  • Woot woot!
  • HA! Favorite observation of the day!!! As for the original question, mine was at a podium in front of about 1,000 people. It was silent, but deadly... and I felt sooo sorry for the people seated behind me. Even worse... ... ... when you are wrong about *thinking* it's *just* a fart!
  • Ok, someone educate me - I know how to post photos but I've not been successful at posting animated images. How do you do it? I can't get a video or animated image uploaded to photobucket . . . so I can't get that dang link.

  • So we should just rename it classism? I like you, you're funny - not like other white <or insert whatever applies here> people. (Not racist, though, right? Just because I'm making an assumption that a group of people are similar. Just want to make sure I understand your logic.) Ahem. So, sarcasm aside... intent DOES make a…
  • Best response.... E V E R
  • I don't think it works if they send you a private message, but yes - you can delete them from seeing them in the forums by clicking the down arrow beside the name, under the picture and selecting "block user,"
  • I like it, and I'm shocked. I don't care for other social networks - hated group work when pursuing my masters, haven't enjoyed any type of support group, abhor facebook, and prefer solo-contributor working environments to team approaches. I always thought true success had to be 100% internally motivated. However,…
  • It sounds like you are only looking for a way to record your blood sugar readings. You can do that in your diary in a couple ways: -As one poster wrote, you can put it in the notes section of your diary - You can change the labels on your diary to correspond to breakfast/lunch/dinner/snacks/blood sugars. (I have mine set…
  • Sweeping judgements by it's-my-way-or-you're-an-idiot-frequent-flyers with messages for all "you people" - my favorite!! So very glad I could make your day a full 100% enjoyable.
