The alarm kinda fizzled. I just haven't wrapped my brain around needing to get UP and to the gym. I'm also predominately at a desk all day unless it's a day when I'm actually teaching instead of writing the class content. You absolutely have to work crazy-hard to get in those steps. But... you can! Today is one of those…

... .and by who's perception do you not "look" any different? Your own? Sometimes the mind doesn't catch up to the changes.

Great idea on the target zone and THEN start your task! I'm hitting my 10K a day now routinely!!! I'm so proud of myself.... hit it consecutively, too.... AND now I'm exceeding it by 3-7K EACH DAY!!! I can't believe it!!!!!!

What a reason to celebrate!!! GREAT JOB and *BiG* congrats!!!!

And here I thought you meant the Kevin variety of Bacon.

Hi! I feel you.... I was AMAZING for about two years then I hit a SIX MONTH PATCH where I just slid by. Didn't crash and burn, but was just happy with the status quo and little effort. It happens to us all. I think it helps to reflect on where you want to be in a month. What do you want to achieve? WHY? Truly reflect on…

Oh, and another one from my Aunt, "What you think of me is none of my business."

Nice plan!! I'm afraid I have YET to go to the gym. However, I've started walking in earnest and have been hitting my 10,000 steps! So, I've re-evaluated by goal. For the rest of January, I want to hit 10,000 steps more days than I don't...and FEB will be my epic return to the gym!

There's quite a difference between being brutally honest and just being brutal. You didn't see me coddling - and if you read the words on my ticker, you'll see my mantra is anything but unicorn farts. I just think it's possible to get your point across without attacking individuals. With that said, *I'm* going to go eat…

I resisted posting for a long while to this thread, but I can't help it. No, I don't think losing weigh will cure anything. It's your mind and your own perceptions that need an overhaul - sometimes moreso than the body. I lost a ton of weight. My mind didn't catch up for 5 years - I could look in the mirror and see the…

Oh, heard today!!! "You track your steps?? How do you keep count?" <grins> Okay, maybe not totally dumb if you haven't been exposed to pedometers. But just struck me as funny. Of course, this was also followed by, "So, when you reach 10,000 steps, what happens?"

GREAT question! Mine is a nod to my heritage. My mom was Norwegian and my dad was Black... so a little mixed mocha. And I live in AZ. (It doesn't hurt that I also am a coffee-aholic.)

I ain't ashamed - I had to wikipedia this!

Thank you - both for the weight loss comment AND THE AGE!!!! I think I love you!!!! I'm 38!

For Pepper_Pea: 28 I'm scared to hear what others might say about me!

I chalk it up to calorie deficiency. Some people need a friggin' snack to play nice.
-
I know it!! Me too!! I couldn't help myself - I had to stop and let them know all the serving size details were available by, uhm, turning the bottle and reading the nutrition facts. Once they started arguing with me about it.... I just smiled and nodded and said, "Enjoy."

C'mon now - please don't make a light-hearted, fun thread all defensive and catty! I may have to add some of the replies to the thread in as candidates! Twinkie-up and shake it off! Have some fun without bashin', man!

<just overheard at the grocery store, a teenager to her mother, while holding a 2 Liter bottle of Coke> "No, this is just one serving. They can't put more than one serving in a package." Mother, while pointing at a 24 oz. bottle: "So how many servings in THAT bottle?" Teenager: "Well, that's, like, a kid's size." Mother:…

I'm sorry you're feeling frustrated. Maybe it's two REAL, solid pounds that will STICK. I find I can drop crazy weight if I want to, but I can't keep it off. So... maybe you're making lifestyle choices that will stick. And it's reasonable and solid. Sodium and water could be part of it, but I think that get's way overused…

Absolutely not necessary to lose weight. If you're trying to achieve other goals, perhaps.

2 years to lose about 160 pounds and get it to stick. The next 100 pounds were slower.... and took me about 3 years to really get it to stick. I could lose it fast, but it would come back. All that said, if I had to average it out, I'd say I take about a month to lose 6-8 pounds if I want to keep them off. I've got 50 more…

I DO juice, sorta.... it's not exactly "juicing." With my Vitamix, I eat the pulp, the meat of the fruit, and all the goodies that add much more nutrition and less calories than straight juicing. I think that's important to note -- the skin of fruits/veggies is often where lots of the uberhealthy phytonutrients live. I…

I think you should do it if you want to. It's certainly no more revealing than a swimsuit top. Personally, I consider a sports bra underwear... great figure or not. In my mind, it belongs under clothes. But wouldn't really care what someone else did.

This is YOUR day... well, technically BOTH of your days. I'm sorry, but I don't subscribe to the pleasing everyone else, especially on THIS day. Call an impromptu meeting with all the important parties, or make a phone call - and say, "I am so excited, thank you for your enthusiasm as well! I've given this lots of thought,…

..... how brutally honest do you want us to be? Your diary was unlocked, to I took a look. You mentioned in your original post you eat processed foods once a week, and just from a quick glance through a couple pages, that doesn't appear to be the case. Please don't misunderstand, I don't think processed food are inherently…

I also saw that documentary and found it fascincating. I DO juice, but like that documentary, it's not exactly "juicing." With my Vitamix, I eat the pulp, the meat of the fruit, and all the goodies that add much more nutrition and less calories than straight juicing. I think that's important to note -- the skin of…

Ok, I had one more check in me. :-) I'd like the ability to filter by thread and user, not just block the user overall. Just because someone gets caught up in one topic doesn't mean I think they don't have a valuable opinion... perhaps on other topics. I'd like to be able to not completely block someone. But this kind of…

I agree with this, except for one aspect. I'd amend to say "I'll tell you think. You HAVE your pick of men as you are. Trust me."
