  • I use a fairly new one to the market, Intek Evolution. Its 160 cals and 34g of protein for one scoop (40 grams). I've only tried the vanilla, but I mix it with 1 tbsp of PB2 and 6oz water and its DELICIOUS! I feel like I'm having dessert!
  • I have tried three different recipes of overnight oats and haven't found one I like yet. I hate plain greek yogurt so after I threw that batch out I substituted applesauce for the yogurt and it was ok, but nothing exciting. I then tried it with cocoa and didn't like it either. Still waiting to find my overnight oat…
  • This! Before coming to MFP I never once heard anything anywhere about eating back your exercise calories. If that is "THE" way to go, why had I never heard about it before? My doctors and trainers had never mentioned it, not even once. You would think that if this was the secret to weight loss, everyone would know. Or…
  • Just sent you a friend request! I'm within a few pounds and am working on my strength and lowering my body fat%. I try to be a motivational/active friend, anyone can add me!
  • Since you asked  , I'll plug the Catty Shack Ranch Wildlife Sanctuary on the northside of town for family outings. I'm a volunteer there and it is a sanctuary for big cats. We currently have lions, tigers, leopards, cougars, bobcats, and two other non-cat species. We're open on select days (weekends) and its an…
  • There are nice sections in EVERY part of Jacksonville. Yes, the Westside and Northside have more undesirable neighborhoods with higher crime rates, but there are good pockets. Having said that, the nicest part of town is the "southside" with the nicest part of that neighborhood being south of Atlantic Blvd and east of…
  • I actually gave blood this morning and brought a snack with me. Its a snack I would have had if I weren't giving blood, so no extra calories for me today! They will be fine with you eating something you brought as long as you ARE eating. As for exercise, they advise against a strenuous routine. A walk should be fine,…
  • Its been quite a while since I did a Stretch 10, but if I remember correctly they are all the same. I stopped because I prefer to do my own stretching and hit whats aching/tight. As long as you do some sort of cool down with stretching you'll be fine.
  • I could use some more Christian friends here on MFP too! I'm sure you've been inundated with requests, so I'll open up an invitation to all!
  • Direct from exercise.about.com: How to Calculate Your Protein Needs: 1. Weight in pounds divided by 2.2 = weight in kg 2. Weight in kg x 0.8-1.8 gm/kg (see below) = protein gm. Use a lower number if you are in good health and are sedentary (i.e., 0.8). Use a higher number (between 1 and 1.8) if you are under stress, are…
  • Find out what your BMR (basal metabolic rate) is and do not eat below that number. Basically, its the amount of calories that your body needs just to function if you were to lay around all day. Also, find out what your TDEE (total daily energy expenditure) is. This will be your maintenance calorie intake. As long as you…
  • Hands down the best thing I have ever done for myself. I didn't realize what a burden having poor eyesight really was until after my procedure. I have 20/15 vision now, and aside from a little dryness, my eyes are perfect! I will gladly swap poor eyesight for dryness anyday! Don't even think twice about the money, you…

  • I'm a vegetarian and a generally content/happy person (hey everyone has their days), but I would tend to agree with this assessment. Perhaps it is our "sensitivity" towards the plight of the world that causes this phenomenon? Interesting thought, I've never really considered this before. I know a heck of a lot more things…
  • Haven't tried the total body dvd, I actually forgot about it! Must try! I burn an average of 330 calories for one workout according to my heart rate monitor (including warmup and cooldown). The people that burn 600-700 must have a lot of weight to loose as its nearly impossible to burn over 100 calories per 10 minutes if…
  • PB2 is powdered peanut butter. Essentially, the oil is squeezed out of roasted peanuts and what remains is powdered peanut butter – all natural with no artificial sweeteners or preservatives. When you mix water with PB2 you get the same consistency as full-fat peanut butter, with all the roasted peanut flavor, but 85% less…
  • This. MFP really shortchanges you on protein needs on the automatic setup option. I suggest manually setting it up and getting at least 30% of your calories from protein. I'm a 5'7" female and aim for at least 100g of protein everyday.
  • Bump, I've wondered about his Inside Out Method too!
  • Hi dustyandjoey! Our pictures are actually not the same, DMUND just "quoted" my post (its a good way to directly address a particular post) like I did yours! I love XFactor and I wish more people knew about it, but apparently we're a small (but very intelligent!) group! Glad to know its working for other people. I keep it…
  • I agree Jen! I'm crazy about grammar and spelling too! It feels weird to correct people, so I generally don't, but goodness do I want to! I don't pretend to be an expert, but the common mistakes kill me!
  • Just in case anyone is checking this, thought I'd post my results. Finished the program on June 10 (repeated two weeks along the way) and lost a total of 8 pounds and 4.6 total inches on the Weider program. I'm starting again at week one now and adding a bodyrock.tv workout to it as well. Here are my results, I'm pretty…
  • I just started BodyRock last week. Its short, but so tough! You are right though, the website is really confusing at first and its not clear where/how to start. Basically they post a new workout everyday - the workouts are 12 minutes in length and run in a circuit with (typically) 50 seconds on then 10 seconds rest (I use…
  • Bodyrock.tv. All workouts are 12 minutes in length, but you could go longer and do more circuits, but they are tough! New workouts posted everyday. I also hear at least one insanity workout is available on youtube or something for people to try before they buy. And Zuzana Lite on youtube is good too.
  • The dvd comes with three 20 minute workouts - an upper body, lower body, and abs focused workout. I've done the lower body a few times and the upper body once. They are great workouts to get your heartrate up and my lower half was definitely sore the next day but my upper half was not. But still great cardio.
  • I really wanted to, but am not a member at any gym. I have lots of free weights and bands, but it was starting to take a long time just trying to come up with an alternate home version for the majority of the exercises. Looks like a great program though! Now I bodyrock instead!
  • Your recipes look really good, thanks!
  • Why be ashamed to be an American? We're not perfect, but then again who is? Wear what you feel comfortable in, don't worry about it.
  • I just finished the Weider XFactor ST series last week! Loved it and so cheap from wal-mart. Definitely made tremendous progress and yes, the guys are too cute!
  • I completely agree. Your weight cannot be less than you actually weigh, so why not log it as a loss? Why wait until the same number hits a few days in a row?
  • http://blog.fatfreevegan.com/2006/03/my-favorite-lasagna.html Just made this lasagna with tofu a couple weeks ago, SO good! She has a lot of recipes with tofu on the site too, given that you aren't vegan you can just sub dairy if you want, though its probably lower cal as is!

  • Got the regular, but the store attendant made me a protein shake with the chocolate so I've now tasted both and they are both amazing! So glad I saw this thread!
