Almost at feeding time on my 2nd fasting day in a row. Haven't done this before and so far it seems to be going well. That's my take on it too. Usually do my 500cals over 40-42hrs but think I might start incorporating a mid-morning snack on the day after to keep me from wanting to murder everyone around me. That will still make it 37-38hrs "fasting".

I think I've been misunderstanding. When folks talk about "24 hour fast" or "40 hour fast", are they actually referring to no intake of calories over this time, or the period in which you eat your <500cals?

Two people in two days (both of whom I've seen in the last month) asking if I've lost weight. Apparently I've finally reached that "other people than your husband notice" phase! Oh, and today I'm wearing a dress (comfortably) that I haven't been able to zip up in over 8 years. Yay!!!

Unless they are so far up their own *kitten* they can't see beyond their own lycra clad supremacy, then I can GUARANTEE that the folks who look at you at the gym are only full of incredibly admiration for you. The vast majority of us have been exactly where you are and know what guts it takes to do what you're doing. :)

I lost almost 4lbs the first week then put them all back on plus interest over the weekend. 6 weeks in I've realised this happens every week, but the overall trend is down. Looks like that weekend of over-indulgence and debauchary cost me 1.5kgs! Small price to pay for such a fantastic time in the whole scheme of things and I know it will be a different story by the end of the week anyway. Might not get back to where I was but I'll be closer than I am now. All good.
