  • I like the low-cal hot chocolate option. Since it's hot, it usually takes me longer to finish than any eating chocolate would, which also helps the cravings to go away. 40 calories per mug for the one I get here in the UK is very worth it for me.
  • Aha! I found the all meals tab. And now I'm embarrassed to put the top 4. :embarassed: skim milk, low-cal hot chocolate, gummi bears and olive oil! I'm going to put it down to the great variety in the main things I eat, but fairly standard snacks and cooking oil. That and things like sometimes I use the package name for my…
  • Late to the take-up, but I'll try as well. This will mean having to do more than the bare minimum of keeping a path cleared between rooms to get past my BMR.
  • But it all depends on which meal I click to add food from for the most used. It's a different top four at breakfast (egg white, slice of bread, light marg and skim milk) to my top four at evening snacks (light hot chocolate, cheese strings, skim milk and no sugar added jello).
  • No way! Sorry, low-cal hot chocolate is all that keeps me from eating entire ice block size pieces of chocolate some days.
  • Sandwiches are always a lot more calories than they feel like in terms of satisfaction. If I buy a pre-made sandwich, it's easy for it to be over 300 calories, and I usually like to keep my lunch to around 350-400 calories. So a sandwich and water when I'm on the go, which doesn't keep me full for very long.
  • I'm falling behind, but I'm still at it! Went down to my lighter weights which helped. Can't believe I'll ever want the heavier ones on this level, but miracles happened on Level 1, so I'll remain optimistic. :)
  • Not tacky at all. We got married where we lived, which was on a different continent to both families. We had a party for the wedding, but since most people couldn't make it, we then had a party with my husband's friends and family in Australia and then another for my friends and family in Canada. Absolutely NOBODY had a…
  • That's a great NSV. Good for you, I hope you are proud of yourself, because you should be!
  • As it's 30 days, you are going to get your period at some point. Why not do it today and get the worst of both over with?
  • Well done to all of you!
  • Best metaphor I've read here on MFP about slip-ups was this: "Just because you break one dish, doesn't mean your throw out the whole china set!"
  • Brilliant news, how motivating for you! I took a photo about a month ago and plan to take another in a few days to see if there's visual evidence yet.
  • Another vote for just plain balsamic vinegar here. I try to buy the slightly more expensive stuff, as the flavour is more complex than just vinegar because it's sweeter. I have some white balsamic vinegar that's really nice too, if you can find that.
  • I am an excellent joke-teller and have a large repertoire of both dirty ones and ones to amuse 7 year olds.
  • The best thing I read from someone else on MFP about messing up one day was, "If you break one dish, you don't throw out the whole crockery set!"
  • Oh yes. I get cocky and think, "this getting in shape stuff is easy, I don't have to work at it". Usually after I've had a good weigh-in I feel like that and think a chocolate sundae would be nice as an extra and screw the calorie count. What I'm doing this time is, anytime I feel like that, I dig out a pair of jeans that…
  • What I find motivating right now, having only started losing weight is going into the grocery store and finding the packages of butter or lard. Each is about half a pound, so I pile up as many as it takes to see how much fat I've lost this week or month. It's not much in terms of weight, but it's a significant pile.
  • Ow! I just saw this, does it still hurt?
  • Just did Level 2 for the first time! Whoo hoo! It's good to change it up, because I was obviously getting used to Level 1 too much because I really sweated again doing Level 2. Lots of stuff that's hard on my knees, so I'll be sticking with the beginner routines all the way through. One funny moment was when I finished the…
  • You might feel a bit bloated but otherwise it's fine.
  • I do sort of what Melanie does too. I don't actually count the tea, as it's never that much, but I'll log the milk. In fact, if I'm at home all day, I'll measure the milk out in the morning into a jug, then log the whole amount and use it over the course of the day in my tea. Feel free to add me as well, I'm in the UK too.
  • Taco or burrito or any Mexican seasoning mix. For sweet, I use truvia in granulated form.
  • Hi Sakkeil, I'm Canadian and working with metric too. I'm the same height, same target, just a little further along the line at around 80kg rough now. I live in the UK so have to deal with people talking about weight in terms of "stones", how antiquated can you get!?!? Will send you a friend request.
  • Bobby Flay's recipe is really really good. All the vegetables in it help keep it moist as well, as turkey can dry out since it's so lean. http://www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/bobby-flay/vegetable-meatloaf-with-balsamic-glaze-recipe/index.html
  • Finally made it to Day 10!
  • I had avocado today and it helped me to go over my macros in fat, which I am trying to stay near as a target this week. Hence the questioning.I posted because it's always good to get different information all in one place to help make decisions. I would think that's the whole point of MFP forums to a certain extent. I…
  • You're just chock full of condescension, aren't you?? As for keeping avocados, I've always had luck just keeping the stone in the unused half, which seems to help prevent it browning.
  • I don't believe calories are a bad thing, but I do believe I need to limit them by a certain amount if I want to lose weight. And you know why they are so delicious? Because they are full of fat. Seriously. Hey, I think they are ok too, when I can decent ones. There's just so much I would choose before avocado to make up…
