Yay, I did it! Taking a rest day was a good idea, I didn't feel broken doing it today. I modified the jumping jacks a bit so my feet point out when legs are out, and I took it very carefully on any lunges or squats. My knees survived and I finished it! Very pleased.

Hi everyone! Not sure how active this group is, but it did seem to be calling out to me to join! I am 41, and unlike what seems like most people here, my kids are still quite young, 3 and 6. I am Canadian, but live in the UK with my family. My husband is Australian and we meet when we were living in Munich, Germany. This…

Chicken. What's the most interesting thing you are doing this weekend?

To be totally honest, I find pride and vanity far better motivators for trying to get back in shape than any pretending it's for health benefits and to make me generally feel better.

I started Day 6, but everything in my body was telling me to stop. And not in a whiney, "We're too lazy for this Showmm" way which I had on Day 2 and 3, but in a "Seriously, this is too much" kind of way. Knee pains and my back started twinging as well, so I stopped about halfway through the second circuit. I think…

I've read elsewhere on the forum that people have used "circuit training" which it kind of is, so I log 20 minutes of that. Hope that helps.

Care to clarify Spade?

Yesterday! New winter boots. Tell us one of your guilty pleasures.

Yes, the 2 week thing to see if it's working is kind of where I am with the 1300 limit. I want to see how things go with that first before upping anything, but I will be annoyed if I've sabotaged my start by getting too few calories to properly lose weight!

iPhone just to fit with iPad I already have. Are you good at telling jokes?

There's a 30 Day Shred group going right now. Most of us are on Day 5 or 6, so we can help motivate your through it, as we've been there a couple of days ago! Haven't tried adding a link before, so not sure if this will automatically link, but if not, just copy and paste it to find the group.…

Well done, keep it up!

I just finished Day 5, w00t! But I could feel my knees, which have been injured in the past. I was probably trying too hard to do the deep squats on day 4 and have niggled them a bit, so I'm going to stick with the beginner routine for anything involving bending at the knees until I'm sure they are ok. I was considering…

Oh, that's a good NSV. I really want that one too. In fact, if I don't get it, there's no justification for far too much of my wardrobe, and that's despite getting rid of a good deal of it. Well done you, that must feel fantastic!

A woodchuck is the same as a groundhog, so when it's not busy chucking all the wood it can chuck, it's telling you how long winter will be. So if you care about the length of winter, you want to know if the woodchuck is wood chucking or shadow checking. EDIT: cross post. Oh yeah, loads of hotties! I mean, just check me out…

Heh heh, I guess no one caught my movie references. Life of Pi or Les Miserables?
-
Dust under my furniture mainly! But I do have a weakness for souvenir flattened pennies, Stuck in a raft with a tiger or stuck in prison as a peasant in 19th century France?

Vodka, and all its infinite flavourings, usually created by me. Damson and butterscotch being my last two. What's your favourite time of year?
-
Good job guys! You can do it!

I just finished Day 4 and am pleased I did it in the evening, because I normally flake right out after the kids go to bed. Now I'm watching Level 2 in prep for the change in a few days, just so it's not all brand new when I am supposed to do it. Eek is all I have to say. Well, at least forewarned is forearmed!

JamieS04 I did first think you looked about 28, but then lowered it when I looked at the bigger picture of you (not your profile, just the picture). Lucky you! Ashlensmomma, I'll buy you a drink anytime you're in town with that answer! I'm 41.

I'm using 1.5kg/3.3lb weights. They feel a bit light on some exercises, so I might get some 5 lb weights to switch between.

I actually thanked her after today's workout! I doubt I'll be doing that during my first go at Level 2! If anyone is interested, she does a weekly podcast which is nice to listen to and hear the human, normal side of her, not just the vicious taskmistress on the DVD.

I have just finished Day 3 and I am so pleased with myself! I've never done it 3 days in a row! Actually, I've probably never done it 3 times in a month! The arm raises with the side lunges were a bit easier today to my delight and surprise, but those jumping jacks are showing me I need to work on exercising my pelvic…

Her husband might appreciate chocolatecoveredpixi81 more.

I weigh about half my food. I don't weigh the non-starchy veg or salads. I estimate the size of my slice of bread and pre-cut things such as that. I weigh meat, cheese and other dairy products, grains and other fats like olive oil. If I think it makes a big difference, I'll weigh it to be certain of its size. But I can't…

A sliced banana with a sprinkle of cinnamon and a teaspoon of honey isn't too calorie loaded and I find it satisfies my sweet tooth most times if it's not chocolate I'm specifically after.

Make sure you are looking up when doing the crunches and try holding your tongue against the roof of your mouth to help with your form with the crunches. I remember that tip from a trainer I had before.
-
I just did Day 2 now as well. Wasn't too bad, except for the side lunges with arm raises again, but I think I need to ramp it up a bit with higher kicks and deeper bends and not "phone it one" like she says. :) I'm using 1.5kg / 3.3 pound weights. I certainly can still feel it and don't think I'd want anything more for…
