I've made them before. They look like pancakes but they don't taste anything like pancakes, they just look the part. They taste nice, just not pancake-y. And flipping them over can be a real challenge sometimes, I've ended up with quite a few that were more scrambled egg and banana than pancake looking. Still, it's nice…

Last year's thread, but I though it was worth bumping up again for some nice Valentine's Day's recipes. I'm planning on something with jumbo shrimp/prawns myself, but haven't chosen a recipe yet. Any suggestions welcome! I usually make a version of these chocolate truffles.…

Do you have a gaming console? Playstation, Wii and Xbox all have games like Dance Star or Wii Fit that are actually quite fun to play and don't feel like you are working hard at exercising, just at beating your partner at the score!

Jimmie, the scooter in my link takes 100kg or 220 pounds. If this isn't enough, I'm sure there must be another that does, or perhaps the kickbikes do?
-
No, once a month.
-
It looks good! You're probably right it'll be enough for everyday stuff, but it's also true they aren't great for anything cross-country.

I just asked the same this week and got several replies. Check them out here: http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/885767-how-to-take-measurements-properly

I don't have a kickbike, I have.a scooter. Or rather, I use my daughter's when she's at school. Check out my sweet ride: http://www.johnlewis.com/231096312/Product.aspx I like it for riding around where I live. It's not quite as fast as a bike, but it's faster than most runners, so good for quick trips to the store and…

Today I was shocked by how many calories pound cake has. Ok, I never thought it would be a light snack, but there's 388 calories in 100 grams. Do you how little pound cake you eat if you eat 100 grams?? Not enough to be satisfying, that's for sure.

Tell me more about this tool Cindi, it sounds useful. I use a plastic tailor's measuring tape, not metal carpenter's tape, haha!

I agree with everything everyone has said. My only addition would be that if you talk about weight loss (or nutrition or what have you) and are worried about how someone might take it, make sure you reference it back to yourself, so there's no "threat" to anyone listening. That sounds ridiculous, as I think people should…

I feel like marking two lines, spaced the width of my measuring tape onto each body part. Do it with henna so it's semi-permanent and I can find the line next time and know I'm measuring in the same place.

Short answer: No.

When you measure your arms do you measure them relaxed by your side or do you measure the biggest part when making your bicep pop ala buda12345's pic?
-
I don't expect to need a scale in twenty years, but even if I do, so what? It takes about 1 second to measure something and certainly no more time than putting it into a measuring cup does. Usually if I'm measuring something like breakfast cereal I measure it right in the bowl I eat out of, so it's actually less work as…

The forums here contain a lot of good advice, read and learn. Plus the success stories are always encouraging too. Feel free to add me as well.

www.urbandictionary.com is your friend. And mine too. SMH was a new one for me last week on Facebook. Have to keep up with these things so I can be down with the kids.

Thanks for the tips so far. Please feel free to add more if you have some. And big top-of-the-float wave to all the other Ferris fans.

Yes, that's what I'm thinking happened. The first time I did it I may have been unconsciously pulling it in tight so I didn't shock myself with what it really was. That's the sort of thing I'm looking for tips about. I know to measure in the same place (the idea of taking a picture of where I measure is a good one), but…

There are quite a few sample diet plans out there for breast feeding moms. Here's just a few links to help you get started and to help you add some more variety to your diet (chips and salsa for more than one meal a day isn't that great). http://www.parenting.com/article/the-hungry-new-moms-diet-plan?page=0,2…

I just tried these and am pleasantly surprised at how well it worked. Main reason I did it was because my 3 year old wanted to make cookies and I didn't want to mess around for ages in the kitchen. He helped mash the very black banana, we added half a cup of oats and a serving of low cal hot chocolate powder (his idea).…

Bobby Flay's Vegetable Meatloaf. http://www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/bobby-flay/vegetable-meatloaf-with-balsamic-glaze-recipe/index.html I've made it many times and it's great. All the veg in it helps keep it moist, no danger of drying it out.

There's a HUGE difference between arguing in real life and online. Or disagreeing or discussing or whatever you want to call it. This is what happens online. You take a complicated topic. Person A expresses an opinion about it and Person B disagrees strongly, and tells Person A why B's opinion is better. Person A takes 10%…

Yes, snacking is a big thing for me. I'm not prepared to stop snacking, but I'm prepared to measure out and record what I'm snacking on. Where as before, I'd keep picking and having small bits, convincing myself that it wasn't that much. Now it's almost automatic to record it, which is a good thing for me.

Yes, I guess in a way it's a NSV.

I've had a digital scale for weighing me and another for food for years, so not sure I'll count those. But since returning to the world of fitness at the start of this year, 1. Heavier hand weights. 2. Good Nike running shoes (the men's version for my double wide feet) and although it didn't cost me anything to purchase 3.…
