  • For now my goal is based off of BMI and what I think would be appropriate for my build (larger, more athletic frame). I know that if I made 120lbs my goal I would look emaciated and I would never be able to maintain it. So I am just going to keep at it until I hit my goal and see how I feel: Do I want to lose more or go…
  • You look great, awesome progress! I would say that instead of looking at weight loss, I would look at muscle gain and percent body fat in your circumstances. That can be achieved through mostly strength training with some cardio. Well done!
  • If you can, get it take out and weigh it at home to see exactly how much you are getting. Sauce has weight as well, so subtract some from the overall weight and find something on the database for a creamy sauce with about as much as you think is on there. It's hard to find out what is in the recipe since it's a local…
  • My brother did this before and ignored it, trying to keep working out. I would recommend to rest it, watch what you're eating, and do some cardio when you feel up to it to keep your body active and moving. I know it's frustrating to not be able to work out like you want. Just think of it this way, you have to treat your…
  • I would say you are eating too little and your body is holding onto that fat for energy. The body does this when it is unsure of where the next meal will come from, like bears during winter. With a sedentary life, you need to consume about 1200 calories JUST to help your body perform, but since you are working out 5 times…
  • If you do NOT like oatmeal at all, I recommend stirring in 1-2 tablespoons of peanut butter, depending how many calories you want to consume for breakfast. It is seriously delicious and adds protein with the carbs for a good balance, especially post workout. Of course, you have to like peanut butter! Crunchy peanut butter…
  • I love Amy's frozen meals. They have less chemicals than any of those 'diet' frozen meals and are vegetarian with lots of protein! We got the family size cheese enchiladas (pack of 6) and have 1-2 of those with salads on the side. Very filling and fast! Otherwise, Firehouse Subs has their new under 500 menu that is…
  • LOVE sweet potatoes! I could eat them every day. Not sure if you eat it much, but butternut squash is also awesome. :)
  • Cherry tomatoes! The Cherub brand ones. I eat them every day, I just love them. I also recently made spaghetti squash, SO GOOD. Will be making that more often.
  • Yeah I would just log something similar. If you notice the fries are particularly greasy or thick cut or something, I'd err on the higher calorie side. Sometimes you can kind of guess what it might be, but it can be deceiving. Don't beat yourself up about it, just don't make it a habit. :)
  • My "why"s are: - To look better for myself and my boyfriend. - To not have thigh chafing and be able to wear a swimsuit with more confidence. - To be able to walk, jog and run longer distances and not get disappointed when I am already winded. - To improve my health and not have to take all the pills my parents do for…
  • Thanks for that! It's kind of what I've figured. I've been watching what I'm eating and making better choices at restaurants than I usually would. I'm still eating above my goals but below or at maintain weight, I log them in the evening before bed. I just feel guilty that I am not able to devote more time to my health at…
  • I'd like to be in! :)
  • I have been listening to a lot of Daft Punk off their Alive 2007 album. Really fast paced for getting pumped when doing cardio.
  • Oh wow, I hope things start getting better for you. :( I know what you mean, sometimes it feels like we just aren't good enough and can't stick to it or aren't worth the effort. Just remember that you only have one life and you need to spend it living!!! Find a rhythm, get into it and really dedicate yourself. to being…
  • Thanks so much!! That is so true too. Just gotta take it day by day and think positively about it and make the right choices. :)
  • Wow that's amazing! Great job!! It's so awesome when other people say that, because then you know you're really making a difference. Awesome you went for a swim! You'll have to reward yourself with some new jeans soon! :)
  • I know what you mean! I started to eat the chips and had to stop myself, it was an uncomfortable day as I don't really like my uncle and didn't really want to go in the first place (he doesn't treat my parents right and also has a thing against 'fat' women). But I think the main thing is just keep your goal in mind and…
  • I always thought video workouts were weird. I don't know why, but I never really got into them and would feel awkward if anyone walked in on me. (Closet exerciser! I hate people seeing me work out.) Well, no one was home and I was curious about kickboxing so I found an exercise video on demand and I actually really enjoyed…
  • That's so great! Good for you! It is so difficult when surrounded by so much tempting food. Great job sticking with it! :)
  • Congrats!!! :) That's amazing, and now it shows how much your hard work is paying off!
  • I don't specifically log butter or oil that I cook with, I will usually just factor it into what I made to eat. Unless I added it to a mixture and it was measured out specifically for a recipe. I also don't log tastes, I just tend to factor them into the meals, they wouldn't be enough to sweat over most of the time anyway.…
  • I love to drink pickle juice. Just sip on a small glass of it. But I do that very rarely!
  • I make my own! :) I dusted it off and have been getting good use out of our blender. I find that they are definitely worth it, the smoothies I make I have after a good walk, and they usually have less than 200 calories and I put tons of fruit and spinach in. You don't taste all the veggies, I always add some Splenda and…
  • Awesome, thanks! :) I will look into that.
  • That is so amazing! Congratulations to you! My grandfather had heart problems and did not take care of himself and died when I was two, I wish I could have known him. I wish you the best of health! :)
  • I think for one thing, it is important to know that you're worth it. The food you eat can either be the safest and most powerful form of medicine, or the slowest form of poison. We are only given one life to live, so take what you have been born with and be grateful! Don't beat yourself up for not thinking you're perfect,…
  • Depends, usually just when I feel like it. I weigh in probably close to 3-5 times a week, I like to see how things are affecting my body. I don't beat myself up about it, though, because I know I am doing good things for my body and numbers don't mean everything. :)
  • You've done so well!!! You look gorgeous. I think sometimes reality will sink in when you look at pant size, the mirror allows you to be way to critical. It is an amazing accomplishment, well done!
  • Actually, I just remembered the worst one. I was at Walmart with one of my friends, who was bigger than me but we were both active and going for walks and to the gym and trying to lose weight. Some older guy, a total stranger, sees us in an aisle and goes "Look at the two piggies!" I was like "What did you say?" and walked…
