I live in a northern state and the combination of the weather, losing weight, and other issues that crop up from time to time -with daily living - can be get me down. I talk it out with good friends just like you did with your post. I also keep telling myself to take it one day at a time and do what I need to do for that…

Turkey, sweet potato and salad.

Take one day at a time.

My grocery bill has definitely gone up since my husband and I started eating healthier. I try to stick to sale items and plan my meals around them but it's not always possible.

I don't know why she is saying these things - perhaps for attention? - but I think you need to ask her to stop. Tell her this hurts you and is not acceptable. I know this may be hard to do but standing up to her may be the only way to get her to stop. BTW - congratulations on your weight loss and your food choices! You're…

I love Maple Grove Farms of Vermont Sugarfree Raspberry Vinaigrette Dressing. Only 5 calories per 2T serving.

How about a yoga class? Minimum of movement and would help calm your mind. Call your park district now to find out when the next class starts.

Awesome! Good for you!

When I'm fighting a sugar craving I usually have some sugarfree jello or sugarfree pudding. I also like the KIND brand of fruit & nut bars that are low in sugar -some of them only 5or 7g. I especially like the KIND dark chocolate, cinnamon, & pecan bar at 5g sugar. An added bonus-it has 7g fiber and 5g protein too! Yummy!…

Sugarfree salad dressing. I keep my portion to 2 tablespoons each time, salad once a day. A dollop of fat-free milk in my morning coffee. I drink tea without sugar/honey so I don't record it.

Try some sugarfree jello when your low on calories - only 5 calories per serving and it gives you something "sweet" to eat. For me, it's like having a treat!

Once every week or two. I like to see progress even if it's only a couple of ounces. If I weigh more often it tends to get me down.

Menopause & the medication I'm on for other health issues. I did't mind being 30lbs overweight until my Doctor told me I was pre-diabetic and on my way to becoming a type 2 diabetic. This woke me up and I have been diligent about watching my weight and exercising ever since.

"A healthy body is about what is going on inside your body. Ads are about selling something. They are two different things." This post is right on:smile:

I was told by my doctor that I was nearing a pre-diabetic diagnosis and that I needed to make changes.MFP has forced me to "get real" about what I eat and how much I exercise. Logging in everyday is like crossing things off a list - I feel good about myself when I can go back and see how much I've accomplished!

I'm sorry you are struggling, life can be cruel sometimes. I hope it would help to know that we have all been there and have suffered along with you. You will get through this, just give yourself time, let yourself grieve. And I agree with the person who said take baby steps...

Hi Iceman. I gave up all soda cold turkey because my doctor told me I was pre diabetic. I had been a Pepsi junkie for most of my life. I don't have any extra ordinary willpower other than I am scared of becoming diabetic! Now I drink black coffee, green tea, and lots of water. I can tell you that the cravings for sweets…
