Hi Heather, I looked in to it before joining MFP. Park Nicollet (and all of the other major hospitals) hold free informational sessions for those looking into these procedures. I would recommend signing up for one in addition to going to obesityhelp.com. The most important thing I can tell you is that it is not a quick…

Thank you all so much for the support! I have a long way to go, but celebrating the mini-milestones really help keep me motivated in addition to the outside support. I really believe that this year is about me reaching my goal. I was unhappy in my 245-255 lb body for far too long and I cant wait to get my life back for me…

17 LBS and going strong.

I can say from personal experience that I gained a lot of weight. I was playing soccer at the time too- running several miles a week and still gaining weight. I think I was on ALL of them at one point in my life- the worst one for me was the Depo shot- I gained 45 lbs! Talk to your doctor about it though- I'd hate to see…

Um, I LIE on mine! LOL. Mine is off by 28 lbs currently but was off by 54 not that long ago.. I also fabricate this number on my fishing license. I am hoping soon that it will be a lie in the other direction :). When I get that that point, I will "lose" my current one so I can get a replacement with my new and much lower…

I have my days when I just dont want to exercise and need chocolate but I have been very diligent with my logging and calories. Since January 2nd- I am down 17 lbs, 23 inches and 2 pants sizes. I deal with…

Hi, I just joined a couple weeks ago. My goal is 100 lbs- down 12 so far. I am a stay at home mom of three kids- 5,3,1 yrs old. I was advised that I was a candidate for gastric bypass after my second pregnancy. I was devistated- I guess I never thought of myself as that heavy that I could qualify. I had another baby a year…

I have been doing right round 1200. I increased my energy level on my settings so it bumped me up to 1340. Anyone can add me if they want. I have been eating great and I share my diary. I am down 12 since Jan 2 (although I dont expect that rate to continue). Best of luck!

Thank you so much for your replies :). Requests have been sent. The support from friends so helpful. I didnt feel like getting my workout in and my friend had a kick *kitten* day- so it inspired me to get going. I felt so much better once I was done. Things like that are what this is all about. Good luck on your journeys!!

Thank you for the nice message :). I sent a request.

Wow, you are a busy woman! I thought I had it bad. I have three children- 1 girl (5) and two boys 3 & 1-1/2 and we just got a new puppy for Christmas. My husband works evenings too [and over nights depending]. Isn't it hard? Dinner, baths, bed and next day prep solo is tough. When I was reading all of the activities your…

You got this! Sometimes we we fall- then you realize that falling was what got you here. Time to brush off the dust keep going. I had years of feeling like this! I am starting over and this time I am doing great and so can you :). I made smaller mini goals along the way to my ultimate goal of 100 lbs which also helped me.…

That's amazing! Fantastic job :). I am hoping to have similar success by next December

That is such a great idea- I think I will do the same. Restaurants give such large portions and have huge plates so it is hard to gauge. In the past I have requested them to bring a to go box with my meal so I can immediately pack half up before I start eating to cut down on the calories. That is awesome that you have such…

I was considering surgery myself in December. I attended two seminars on the procedure by two major clinics in MN. I have decided to try this first. I am 5'2" and 245 with 3 kids. I did extensive research on all three procedures offered in my state and they did have many risks. I know people that have had successes and…
