There is no shame as long as you come in under your calorie goal.

I typically do not eat breakfast for at least 3 hours after I get up. It doesn't bother me. I find that if I eat first thing, then I'm starving for the rest of the day. But if I push my first meal back for a couple of hours, I won't be hungry, and it helps me stay under my calorie goal. Even eating a single morsel will…

I agree w/ the previous poster to bring your own snacks if possible. Or try to figure out what they will be having at the party and plan ahead by having a lighter breakfast/lunch. It's OK to have some junk food as long as you count it.

Huh... person who doesn't agree w/ you = troll? I've lost 73 lbs eating processed food within my calorie limit set by MFP. My most recent blood work came back indicating my iron went up, my blood count went up, my HDL is up and my LDL is down, and my blood sugar is around 5. So call me a troll.

I'm usually not hungry first thing in the morning either. I wake up around 8 am but usually do not eat any breakfast until about 10:30-11 AM. I'll probably have a cuppa tea around 9:30-10, but nothing solid until 11. I still eat 3 meals but due to my work schedule they're usually shifted a couple of hours later than a…

I typically only get breakfast there anymore... I don't like veggies on a sandwich and it dosen't seem worth it for the price to just get meat. 6 inch egg and cheese with honey mustard is my go-to breakfast, but I really don't get it very often. Maybe once every few weeks.

I don't like using term 'addiction' when it comes to overeating because it takes the blame away from the individual... like.. I know I overeat, but it's an addiction, so I am not in control of my own actions, it's the food's fault. Yes, we have dispositions to liking high-fat, high-sugar things, from an evolution…

I had one recommended to me and even was put on the waiting list, but since then I have managed to lose a great deal of weight on my own. I since have made myself inactive on the list for now, so I am not in line for it anymore. I could not go through with it without legitimately having tried anything. My few stints at…

I'm pretty sure it's done for liability reasons... in case someone comes down with malnutrition or something, they can't blame MFP for not making them aware when they're eating less than 1200 calories.

I have several things to express... I won't bother quoting anyone, and this will probably be my last post in this topic. I appreciate the debate, by the way, and I mean no disrespect, even though I can get a little forceful in my rhetoric. I really like arguing, and maybe I should have went to law school :) To the person…

And once again... I get to paraphrase yet another comedian in George Carlin... this thread is an illustration of what he said about the middle class and the poor. What the ruling class do in this country is keep the middle class and the poor fighting with each other so that they, the wealthy, can run off with all the…

I'm a nobody. But a billion is enough to where you and about 20 generations of offspring would never have to work or want for anything in the world for their entire lives. Why does anyone need more than that? You answered my question with a question. Why does someone need a billion dollars?
-
To paraphrase Chris Rock... if make a million dollars a year and you have to give someone 500,000, it might suck but you aren't going to starve or anything. But if you make 30,000 and you have to give someone 15,000, you might be living on the streets very shortly. Just saying it's different depending on how much money you…

I get tired of hearing that minimum wages is not 'meant to' pay a living wage. The reality is people are forced to use these jobs to support themselves because they can't get anything else that pays better. It's a cycle that people cannot escape from. People should not have to live in poverty to line the pockets of…

I do eat breakfast, though I delay it by a few hours. Wake up time is 8 am and I usually eat breakfast around 11. My daily caloric limit is around 1900 and my breakfast can be anywhere from 350 - 500 calories. So at most, 25% or so.
-
Yes you can. You have to plan your day around your caloric limit. You can't just eat normally and then check later to see whether or not you've gone over. Going over isn't a surprise that just happens by accident.

Typically I get... "You've lost a lot of weight, what are you doing?" People tend to be surprised when I state that I'm only counting calories and exercising a little, and not following any particular diet or program.

Keurig, digital scale, microwave, electric kettle. Edit: Forgot the toaster!

You've given yourself permission to be a pig at night. Just don't do it. Assess your hunger. Are you legitimately hungry? Or are you just bored? That's the definition of boredom. Your show is not exciting enough unless you're also eating as well. That was a mindset that I HAD to get out of if I was going to be successful.…

I don't have a 'no' list. I do have foods that I won't choose as often as others, but nothing is banned outright.

That feeling when jeans you haven't worn in years suddenly fit! Woo hoo, free new jeans!
-
Just say 'no thanks.' I work in an office where there's constantly food around, and after a little while they won't ask you anymore.

Get frustrated. Don't stop. You're GOING to get frustrated. Don't let it stop you. If you're hungry and you're thinking you need to eat rabbit food, you don't. I still eat crap, I just eat less of it,and I have been losing for 6 months. Have a look at my diary if you like, and feel free to add me.
-
I began at a higher weight than you and have lost nearly 60 lbs so far, in 6 months. If I can do it, you can do it.
-
Chocolate. I sometimes have chocolate flavored things, like yogurt or the soft chocolate cookies on a mini ice-cream sandwich. But real chocolate has been pretty much absent in the last 6 months, save for a couple of special occasions.

I eat it with a spoon :) It's a bit mild, but I'm a weirdo because I like the texture. I will usually pair it with oatmeal or dry cereal and a piece of fruit for breakfast.

I would stay away from the muffins, personally. Most muffins are just naked cupcakes, when you consider their nutritional composition. Everyone is different, but muffins would not keep me filled up for very long. I bring hummus and crisp bread sometimes as a snack, and a lot of times I'll bring dry cereal and milk and have…

I don't get it. I've had this surgery recommended to me, but what is the point? You still have to change your eating habits once the surgery is over! That plus you can never eat normally again. I would rather change my eating with my own willpower, at least I can indulge once in a while and eat like a normal adult and not…

1) Better mobility - I had gotten to the point where it was difficult to get from point A to point B. I don't want to be an invalid or need a cane or anything like that. 2) Vanity - I want to be able to walk into a store (even a plus sized store!) and pick out clothes because I like them, not because it's the only thing…
