1) YOU are not your body. You have a body that has some extra fat on it. If your car was in need of repair, you would not be grossed out, you would fix it. It's no different. 2) Take out all that frustration on the running trail or the treadmill. If you can't run, then walk as fast as you can. Try to get up to 30 minutes…

I have answered similar posts because I just have to keep making the point - starving yourself doesn't work! Your metabolism will slow down, you will lose lean body mass, and then when you start to eat a greater number of calories again (which you will, because you can't starve forever), you will gain more weight faster…

My daughter told me to balance the sodium with more potassium, and not to force the water drinking if I am retaining. Btw, I NEVER order alcoholic drinks when I'm out and I don't drink at home either. That would be a lot of wasted calories.

You will end up thin and flabby and then when you eat normally, your weight will come back faster than ever. It is far, far better to eat a reasonable number of calories and combine it with exercise. I yo-yo dieted for a decade - believe me, it won't work. I had a lot of discipline too and I could do the dreadful…

This!! I did this too when my kids were young. I also found out things they actually liked in their salad and put it on the side so they could add it. I serve the salad first when everyone is hungry, and take my time with the rest.

Thanks, I had a feeling it must be that. I don't ever order a full entrée which is normally enough for 4 people! And I try to be honest about the calories, so it has to be the sodium. Maybe I should skip the food altogether and just order herbal tea. I never put salt in my food at home.

Ezekial bread is organic, sprouted whole grain bread that has 3g fiber and 4g protein per slice (80 calories). White bread is useless, but you can get nutrition, even protein from sprouted whole grain bread. That is why "carbs" is such a generality. Whole grains contain protein and a little bit of natural healthy fat. I…

I did! But then my husband and I went to the gym after and I ran 4.25 miles!

Siggi's Icelandic strained yogurt, Vega Vibrancy Bars, and Hemp Pro Fiber added to morning smoothie. Also organic non-fat cottage cheese.

Well Done! You look amazing. Keep up the good work, and don't forget to post the glamour shot!

I'm 5'2" and apparently to get down to 23% body fat, I should be 113. That sounds about right to me. I was 108 in High School, but when I got that low at age 40, I lost my curves, so 5 lbs. more is good. 121 right now.

Yes, for me finding clothes that fit is actually harder when I'm thinner, especially being a petite size. But it keeps me from spending too much money on clothes! :)

Take your kids out to walk with you on the weekend days, or park them in the playground and walk/jog around the park where you can still keep an eye on them. Make that weekend outing part of the schedule even if you have chores to do. I don't know how old the kids are, but even if they are little, it's good to give them…

I started MFP at 1200 and eating back exercise calories, went OK for 2 - 3 weeks then started feeling hungry and grumpy and not losing weight. I looked at a thread that had the road map link, and figured TDEE - 20% = 1360 + exercise calories. My exercise in not consistent, but I find it difficult to eat back the calories.…

You are gorgeous at any weight, but your persistence is truly inspiring, and I love the beautiful red hair! 300 days is amazing!!! And just goes to show it's worth doing it right!

Too many NO's and not enough YES's! You can lose weight without all those NO's, and abiding by them is no guarantee that you will, unless you count calories and exercise enough to burn more than you consume. That's the bottom line. There is no way that NOT eating certain things is going to make your body burn fat. If you…

Don't know much about this plan, but I did Atkins some years ago, lost a few pounds, then stopped losing. Meantime, my cholesterol went to 315 (I am 5'2" and weighed 122 pounds and was 43 yrs old at the time, fairly fit), and I started having dizzy, almost fainting spells. I usually am inclined to be mostly vegetarian, and…

Watermelon! Also, Siggi's nonfat yogurt - way less sugar than other brands.

You really mustn't cut your calories so low! You will wreck your metabolism. I know - I have done it and it is a slooooooooow recovery once you fall into that trap. The MFP recommended daily calories are good advice, and you have to have extra on the days you exercise or you will not lose weight properly - you might lose a…

These are good answers. If you eat whole foods in their most natural state possible, your food will be nutritious and as long as you follow the calorie guidelines for your height and weight you should lose weight successfully. Whole grains, if they really are whole grains, are loaded with fiber, and they actually have…

You should be very impressed and pleased with your progress and your level of commitment. Keep going - you will see the results! It's true, if you lose weight any faster, you have more chance of gaining it back. Slow and steady is the best way to go.

Champion makes an excellent one that they sell at Target for about $20. Don't know if it's the same as the one at Walmart. These provide lift and support with no underwire and no "headlights". Also, they don't chafe anywhere. I've had a hard time finding comfortable sports bras that work and have spent much more for ones…

The running/jogging seems accurate, but I think the downhill skiing is inflated.

I have found that if I eat just slightly more than the recommended calories rather than less. Otherwise your body may go into starvation mode and hold on to the weight. you also need to get enough sleep.
