The short answer: yes. After months of eating clean, I can tell a huge difference in my digestion when I eat greasy food. I've never thrown it up as you have, but I find it either too hard or too easy to go to the bathroom, depending on what type of crappy food I ate (sorry, a little graphic). You should think of this as a…

I see it has been awhile since anyone posted in this thread, but I just joined the group and wanted to chime in! My heart rate monitor is my best friend at my Jazzercise class, and after the final song everyone comes up to me and asks how many calories I burned. My Jazz fitness center has 7 different instructors, and some…

Like Four_Leaf_Clover said, you can't spot-lose or spot-tone. It has to be an all-over thing. I suspect that lifting weights would work wonders for you. When I first started to lose, I had lost 15 pounds and couldn't tell a difference. It wasn't until I started lifting weights that I finally felt like I looked skinny. 28%…

It took me about 6 1/2 months to lose 30 pounds. I started in January at 173 and got to 143 by mid-June.

I tried my hardest to stay under whenever I could, but there were days when I had to choose between staying under my goal and being absolutely miserable, or going a little over and not having to deal with the hunger pains. There were also days where I went way over. Did I feel bad about it? Yeah, but here I am 32 pounds…

I started it in March and finished in early May. It's a lot easier than you think, and it kind of makes running fun! It does a great job of easing you into it, and you will really be running 30 minutes straight before you know it!

Hi Laura! I'm a flexitarian as well! I gave up meat for Lent but decided that my body felt so much better without meat in my diet. Now I've cut down to eating it as little as possible. I'll only eat it if there isn't really another option, like if we got out to eat somewhere that doesn't have vegetarian options. Let's be…

Starbucks Americano, black. Zero calories, tons of caffeine!

I have the FT 4 and it's a great investment. I can't tell you how much I love it. Get one.

This. It's to die for. I add Rotel tomatoes to it. And I cook it with the oil because when you use extra virgin olive oil, it's healthy fat :)

Thanks everyone for all of the great advice! I think what some of you mentioned is right and that I was getting enough. I have my macros set at 40% carbs/ 30% protein/ 30% fats. I guess I didn't realize that just because I wasn't hitting MFP's number they gave me doesn't mean I'm not getting enough. Thanks everyone!

I LOVE Forks Over Knives! That's what sparked me to eat as little animal protein as possible. Thanks for all your advice, this should be a great start. I think the goal that MFP set for me is WAY too high for protein. Even when I was making it a point to eat high protein foods, I was barely getting half of what MFP told me…

That's interesting. I would think that working out would help alleviate it. However, I guess all of the moving around could be what made it heavier. Maybe you'll find that it's lighter tomorrow to compensate for the heaviness today. Drink plenty of water to help alleviate any cramping and see how you feel tomorrow.

THANK YOU.

One of my facebook friends had a status awhile back that said, "Anyone have any good weight loss advice? I'm willing to try anything, pills, workouts, whatever diet you throw at me. I need this weight gone and I need it gone now!" When I suggested MFP to her, she said, "Elli, I need something that's not going to take…

I'd tell that freakishly skinny chick that goes to my gym that she needs to go home, she's done already.

I just log it as "Ripped in 30" because that's the DVD I use. I just bought a heart rate monitor and will start wearing that when I do the DVDs as soon as I get it. On days when I do the DVD in addition to a cardio workout at the gym, I don't log it. But on days I only do the DVD, I tell MFP that I burn 250 calories. It's…

I have a 24 oz. Camelbak that I keep at my side at all times when I'm at work. I drink about 4 of them per day, not including what I drink when I exercise.

Just keep at it, it will be slow at first, but then it will start falling off right before your eyes. Trust me. It feels like I just started and already I only have 6 pounds left before I hit my goal weight. You'll get there!

Thanks! I'm not exactly sure what to call this injury. I had a roommate back in college who was an athletic training student and based on how I described it to her, she though that it was probably thigh splints as the pain definitely feels more like it's in my actual bones than in the muscles/tendons surrounding them. I…

The amount of pizza a person eats in a year! Working my way up to the amount of cheese an average person eats in a year. Maybe once I get there, I'll be able to work up to the amount of cheese that I MYSELF eat in a year... being from Wisconsin, it's gotta be way above the average!

My favorite new "salty" snack is roasted chickpeas. I toss them in a little olive oil and season with garlic powder and cayenne, then roast at 450 degrees for 30-40 minutes. They're the perfect crunchy replacement for potato chips and other salty snacks. They're not SUPER low in calories, but definitely lower than potato…

I would say it still counts as water. Normally, I just count plain water as water, even though I drink a lot of coffee and green tea throughout the day. Just watch how many packets of crystal light you use because they add calories and sugar to your water.

I'm in the same boat this week dear. I stepped on the scale this morning and it showed a gain of 1.2 pounds. But, like you, I also added a new workout to my exercise regimen. One of my friends has said that your body hangs on to a lot of water when you're building muscle because your muscles need the water there to help…

You seem like you're a smart cookie. Glad we're buds  I'm vowing to stay as far away from sodium as possible today. We'll see where that puts me tomorrow.

I've been drinking a TON of water, so I know it's not that. I weigh myself just about every morning. I'm eating about 1800 calories a day but netting about 1300 or so. I've been wondering if I should up my goal to 1500 calories a day and see if that won't help me. I did look again at my diary from yesterday and was…

I love how my fellow Sconnies come out of the woodwork when a topic titled "Midwesterners" is posted :drinker: I'm a Badger, born, raised, and graduated!

The only thing the scale can tell you is your personal relationship with gravity. It cannot tell you that you've lowered the amount of body fat you have, it cannot tell you how much water you are holding onto, it cannot tell you that you are building muscle. I guarantee if you saw a before picture of yourself and compared…
