Not logging dinner for one day does not mean I don't log. I log 95% of the time -- I was at two different events this weekend and didn't log -- this is a rare occurrence. Please don't judge me one one day. If you look back over weeks or months of my diary (if you really feel compelled to take the time to do that) -- then…

Thank you for your kind words. And I use a food scale and measuring cups. So the measurements of non-liquid foods are accurate 90% of the time. Can't really control it when I'm away from home but use my best guesses.

MFP says I burn over 1000 calories when I swim for 45 minutes. And this past weekend is not the best example of how I log -- I was gone a lot over the weekend at events and didn't log what I ate when out. This is not the norm for me.

Yes, thyroid and blood sugar have been checked are all normal. Carbs/protein -- I guess I could think about this, but this is one of those radical food exclusion changes that I am wary of. Also, there is a risk of higher protein amounting to higher fats/cholesterol, which I need to watch.

You people are amazing!!! :)

NO way would I ever unfriend you IJG!
-
Looking forward to helping each other on this journey!

Thank you for the reminders, Megan. Sometimes it's someone just talking honestly and from the heart that is needed.

YAY!!!! Way to go!

I started with over 200 pounds to lose - use the site the way it was intended -- log your food HONESTLY, try to get some form of activity every day (and don't feel like you have to kill yourself to start -- I started by swimming just 10 minutes a day 3 times a week...and have built up over the last 10 months to swimming…

THIS.... " I didn't do anything to fix the problem quick- I didn't starve myself, I didn't get surgery, use laxatives, shakes, juices, or HTC, or anything else. I did it all with diet and exercise." For me, it's the only way to do it -- and if takes a long time, well, so be it. At least I know I'm developing sustainable…

You look amazing -- you've come too far to not make it to your goal! Good luck and keep up the excellent work!

Adding to the numerous accolades!! Keep up the amazing work!

Being active with my family without worrying about being able to keep up. Having more wardrobe choices. Feeling better physically and mentally -- especially feeling the pride that comes with knowing I did it!

Do NOT be swayed from doing water aerobics simply because the class has older ladies. If it doesn't hurt and it allows you to get your exercise in -- then that is what you should be doing. It is not any testament to you as a person or your ability. This mentality is the same that many folks face when going to a gym -- the…

Amazing people here -- thank you for the very wise words and encouragement. It is exactly what I needed. You have helped me put things back into perspective -- that kick in the pants we all need every once in a while.

No offense to the many here who subscribe to the whole TDEE/In Place of a Roadmap theory -- I've read through the stuff...and honestly, I think it is just another weight loss plan/gimmick. There seem to be just as many people it works for as who it doesn't work for. And the ones it works for seem to be folks who don't have…

You also make a wonderful point -- that I do need to remind myself. It took me 20+ years to get to 447 pounds....it isn't going to magically disappear in a matter of months. I have this goal in mind of losing 100 pounds by my birthday in February...and it just feels like February is creeping closer and the scale isn't…

That is my one regret in this process. I have not taken any pictures. I wish I had. I keep telling myself that once I fit 50 pounds exactly I will take some full body pictures -- and use those to compare after the next 10...20....50 pounds. The first 50...well....will just have to "imagine" how that looks. I do think that…

Looking great!!!

Beautiful and healthy transformation! Love that smile of success!

I lost 10 pounds in the first couple weeks -- and then it slowed down dramatically -- I only lost 3 pounds in April -- granted I was not as faithful to the plan due to work and vacation travel. It can be discouraging though to have that dramatic loss at the very beginning and then to have it taper off to a more "normal"…

Love that smile of success -- congrats on your amazing progress!

All teared up here! Look at you go!! You were my first friend here -- and you inspire me to keep on going each and every day. Thank you so much for sharing your progress with us today -- and for sharing your encouragement and smile every day.

Congratulations -- I always love hearing these tales of success, motivate me to keep on keeping on!

Look at you go!! Amazing progress!! For someone like me sitting in the 400s and slowing working my way down -- this inspires me to keep at it!

This has been one of the most stunning transformations I've seen. Excellent work!

Nuts -- all kinds -- I always try to have a can of almonds, cashews, etc in my drawer. Really wards off the hunger. Bananas String cheese Hummus chips (yes, there are such things and they are delicious!) Yogurt (I have a little fridge in my office -- which helps with the snack storage) Granola Bars (be mindful of the…

Yes I do. Everything. Spices, liquids, vitamin. For this to work -- I have to be honest. I wasn't being honest with myself about what I was eating before I joined here -- this is about changing habits -- and I am setting myself up for failure if I am not completely honest. Plus -- I believe that logging everything will…
