  • You could try eating some small new potatoes or fingerlings. Use Coconut oil instead of butter. I just like to steam them and drizzle on some olive oil and garlic slices.
  • I'm so glad to see that you mentioned Coconut Water. This is a great beverage to drink after a hard workout.
  • It seems that you are desperate to get some real help. I would recommend that you find a registered dietitian to help you with the basics.

  • I agree. There are a million and one ways to make salads.
  • Oh now you are making me hungry for a big bowl of PHO.
  • Spring rolls can be made a day in advance if you place a damp paper towel on top of them and cover the container. Get creative and put whatever you want in them or try a Vietnamese version with Shrimp and pork and vermicelli noodles. I have had them filled with shredded lettuce or cabbage and they are so yummy with a fresh…
  • Have you tried Nori wrap sandwiches or Spring rolls? My lunch today was tuna from a pouch wrapped with Onion alfalfa sprouts, avocado, and romaine lettuce leaves in a Nori wrapper. I dipped it in a vinaigrette. Very refreshing and filling too.
  • I love this recipe made with Lemon Jello. I just don't like the calorie count even though it is sugar free.
  • Cottage cheese used to be one of my favorite things to eat. I ate it with fruit most of the time. Have you tried it with Avocado? How about mixing it with chopped eggs and chives for a new twist on egg salad? Give it a dash of Hungarian Paprika for a little kick. Toss it with chopped cucumber. Serve it with Raviolis and…
  • Black bean brownies are especially good when made with Ghirardelli Bittersweet Chocolate chips.
  • Take it in stride and then get back on track tomorrow. :flowerforyou:
  • 5 Feet and trying not to shrink. Clothes are always a challenge when vertically challenged. So glad that my Mom taught me how to sew. Sometimes I just take what I need shortened to her if I don't have the time. Getting in better shape makes a world of difference in how my clothing fits.
  • Sounds like a good challenge to me.
  • Not a silly question. Go ahead and list them. Better yet include them in your recipes that you post. :flowerforyou:
  • My response to this is to not focus on the calorie count so much but pay attention to what it is that you are eating. If eating low calorie vegetables is your preference go for it. Eat nutrient dense foods that benefit your health. Most of the Vitamins in vegetables benefit your body more when they are eaten with a healthy…
  • Hi I'm also 5'0" and hover around that same weight at this time. My start weight on here was 180 but in reality at the beginning of the year I was closer to 190. I'm proud to say that changing the way I have been eating and having the accountability of MFP (and my boyfriend) I am slowly losing the weight that creeped back…
  • Go to a GNC store and get a recommendation. Do some research before you shop and wright down or print them out. Then stick to your guns and purchase one that meets your requirements. If you have an Organic Foods section at your local grocery store check out the options there. Better yet, Find a local FOOD CO-OP. The one in…
  • Here's a suggestion, Stop focusing on all the numbers and ask yourself how your body feels. When becoming more active you are building muscle which weighs more than fat. Have your measurements changed? Do your clothes fit differently? How is your sleep? Are you eating foods that are low in calories and focusing on the…
  • The butternut squash sitting on my counter is waiting to be turned into something like that.
  • So many recipes and so little time. One of my favorite soups is HOT & SOUR Thai soup. Anything goes into this so whatever vegetables you have on hand throw them in some vegetable broth and then season with rice vinegar and crushed red pepper until the soup reaches the desired heat level that you prefer. I also like to give…
  • This is a very healthy and easy soup to make. Dr. Oz's 3 Day Detox has one similar to it that includes Fennel Bulb that tastes just as good.
  • Sounds like a great recipe similar to what I make and call Minestrone. I love the fact that it has sweet potato in it. Can't wait to try it.
  • Congrats on your weight loss. I would like to join the others on this board in saying that we can never have too many friends or other people cheering us on and giving us the support that is oh so helpful. What a journey we are all on together! :flowerforyou:
  • Hey I'm back on track and now have the support I was missing before. I've been researching the Paleo diet hoping and praying that it will work for me. As a professional cook some changes are harder to embrace than others, but so far this method makes a lot of sense. I have always stated that using fresh is best. Now if I…
