  • As for motivation, it is different for everyone. My Fitbit keeps me motivated to move. And the message boards and groups on MFP help my motivation as well. There are a few challenges on here that help keep you accountable to logging and exercise. I highly suggest joining them and staying active with them. One I have joined…
  • I would start with setting your calorie goal for the day. MFP has a decent calculator and can set your daily target. Once you have done that, I would log your food every day to get an idea how much you are consuming. Be honest about what you are eating or else you are only cheating yourself. Adjust your food choices as you…
  • Mine came back after 15 months. Around the time I dropped the daytime bottle/pumping.
  • Hummus and Veggies or Jerky for healthier option Smartfood Delight Salted Caramel Popcorn for fun snack
  • Jealous of that location Rick! I love hiking, but haven't done it in a long time. It has warmed up a bit here and I am so glad! I cant wait for soccer season to start and the warmer weather will allow me to take my son to the park more. The cooler temps just give me an excuse to be lazy. I know it is January but bring on…
  • Exercise? Yep went to the 5:30 class. This new gym location is very motivating because it houses a power lifting area, boxing area, and football training area. Seeing a lot of people in amazing condition keeps me motivated to get better. I still liked our old space better but this new environment is pretty cool. Calories?…
  • Exercise? Yes, but nothing too intense. It was cold outside and I stuck to playing with my kiddo and doing a couple body weight exercises. Calories/Tracking? Yep! I logged ahead of time to make sure I stayed under for dinner.
  • PASS #1 for 1/7 Not really a specific resolution, but I have committed to stay at it at the gym and keep logging my food. I have been doing it for about 3 months and have seen amazing progress. Not just in weight but in strength, willpower, and overall health. I have specific goals that I set several months ago but it had…
  • Exercise? Yep! I got my new custom speed rope in and tried to break it in :) Calories/Tracking? Every bite.
  • Exercise? Yes even though the pinch in my shoulder wanted to keep me away from it. I powered through it thinking it would help relieve it and it did a little. Husband and I went at 5 again and had no problem getting our workout in :) Calories/Tracking? Yep! Focusing on getting my protein in.
  • As other posts have said, small changes can add up. No need to turn your life upside down. Make small changes you can stick with. I personally think that there is no need to follow a "diet plan". It is as simple as calories in and calories out. Find out your calorie goal, log your food, and be realistic. Any weight that…
  • @mleereny HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAY! Always eat the cake, calories don't count on your birthday you know..
  • So glad to hear your mom is in a great environment. I grew up in a smaller town and my mom was a teacher (still is at 71) so everyone knew her. I couldn't get away with anything! ;) Thanks for sharing your story. Exercise? Yes, we decided to try to go 30 min early to the class and work our workout in together. It worked ok…
  • Exercise? Yes. Our gym moved to a new location and new class times. It isn't ideal BC it is further from my house and daycare. On top of that the new class times make it impossible for me and my husband to workout together now. Calories/Tracked? Yes, and stayed under thanks to exercise I have a NSV to report! I set a new…
  • Hello all! Happy New Year! My name is Julie and I live near Dallas, TX. I am married and we have an 18 mo old son that keeps me on my toes. I am down to my pre-pregnancy weight but I am working towards getting lean and strong. My husband and I just got back into doing Crossfit. I work a desk job that keeps me seated a lot,…
  • @RangerRickL I am so sorry to hear about your mom's condition. My thoughts and prayers are with you. Exercise?- Yep, I walked and also did about 8 loads of laundry, trying to catch up from being a lazy bum over the holiday. Tracked/Calories? Yes, and saved a couple calories to eat holiday cookies :)
  • HAPPY NEW YEAR ALL! Exercise- Yep, I went for a walk with my little one. I also put away Christmas decorations, that has to be considered exercise right? Tracked? every bite :) Calories?- Stayed under for the day
  • Congratulations @2020pinktogo! Impressive I dropped out and went MIA due to the holiday and family.
  • Yes x3 for 12/21 Had a girls night with a few friends and snacked on a lot of veggies instead of the calorie bombs that were there. I had to save the calories for the wine!
  • @RangerRickL It was amazing! It was extremely well done and a great story line. I wont say any more for risk of spoiling ;)
  • Yes x 3 for 12/19 Lots of walking today at the office. I'm trying to stay as active as I can and keep walking past those treats at the office!
  • Yes X 3 today. I took a random day off to Christmas shop and get some things done. According to my Fitbit I was in fat burn mode for 5 and a half hours. And I still went to the 5 oclock class. I'm pooped!
  • You may consider looking into your current meds like others have mentioned. I know that a lot of pre-natal vitamins can have some funny side effects. I'm so sorry you are going through this. Vent away! I truly hope you get some relief.
  • @sherecep Meal prep for several days just doesn't work for me. I get bored with what I have prepared and I usually throw meals away. Prepping for only 2 days seems to help me with that, but I know it isn't as time effective.. But if I am not excited or interested in the food I eat, I lose focus. Perhaps only prep for a…
  • @EmilyCowlard2016 WOW! That is impressive! You have a lot to feel happy about, that is a great accomplishment. Keep up the great work :)
  • It is in the teens in Dallas area. Brrrrrrr I still managed to stay under budget and get a little exercise. So Yes x 3 for 12/18
  • 12/17 - PASS #2
  • Yes x 3! Me and the hubby took a half day to see the new Star wars movie. I chose my lunch poorly and ended up only eating half. It was a good thing because it was a calorie bomb. I still managed to stay under for the day.
  • 12/15 Yes x 3 Crossfit class and tracked and stayed under
  • Also a quote that motivates me when I don't see the results as quick as I like... "Don’t judge each day by the harvest you reap but by the seeds that you plant. " Meaning you need to also need to exercise patience and keep setting yourself up for success in order to see results. Focus on the positive.
