From my experience YES, I found the first 35-40 pounds I lost I looked extremely old. I think it depends on the person's age.

Plateau's are everyone's demon, but we all have to deal with them, 3 weeks doing something everyday makes it a habit. So every 3 weeks I try to change up my routine of exercise and my foods. To shock the system and stir it up some. You need to remember that stress is a killer for weight loss also. Don't give up, just…

Yes, always the larger girl in every class and every group. Not only heavier than everyone else but I always was a head taller than the rest. My weight & height have always been an issue for me. But I've learned I am my worst enemy and I have to conquer that before I can be successful. You can do it. Good Luck

I commend you for working at this as dedicated as you have done. But let me tell you something from my experience. You lose it fast and it will come back on you just as fast. Did you measure when you started? That's one of the best ways to judge your stats. Get that tape out and measure. I measure every 3 weeks. Good Luck

Yes, but only half. Only because it works for my metabolism. You need to work with it and see what works best for you. Everyone is different and what works for me may not for you. Just trial and error will show you what is best. Good Luck

Honestly looking at what you eat it doesn't look to me like your fueling your body enough. Your body is like a car, without the fuel it will not run. Our bodies have to have fuel to work and run properly. Re-evaluate your eating, you need carbs and protein. Good Luck

Hello, and I see there's a lot of newbie's on your post. I have been on my adventure for 2 years. Losing all but 18 lbs to goal and had some life crisis that helped unsettle my hard work. I am back on board again and on the down roll. Add me if you would like support and motivation.Good Luck

You didn't gain it overnight so your not going to lose it overnight. You need to remember, slower you lose the longer it will stay off. Faster weight loss is usually muscle and you don't want to lose muscle. I was taught that after 3 weeks change your routine up abit to shock your system. Your metabolism gets used to the…

For me, I'd say, Take one day at a time working towards your goal. Everyone is different bodies work in different speeds, and burns differently. Don't compare what your neighbor, friend or spouse has done to what you will be able to do. Just do it.

Hello and welcome to MFP. I am a daily logger and loser. I've lost over 88 lbs and have just recently gained 30 lbs back. I failed to pay attention to my emotional eating and it has taken it's toll on the scale. I know what I need to do and how to do it. Am back in to the mode of losing and working out. Add me.

Mine are dropping also but due to me not them. I support my friends on here, I try to daily comment on at least one of their post. Just to let them know someone notices their achievement or their issue for the day. In return I'd like the same courtesy, and when I notice for weeks there are no responses on my comments I do…

Okay, we all fall off the wagon a time or two. What counts is your trying to get back right back on it. Make your food diary for the week, start today drinking your water- we must have out water. Make your schedule and stick to it for workouts. You can do this, you proved that to yourself already. Stop looking back at the…

First- great dedication on your 3 weeks of working out. Secondly- YES by all means your period will make a difference. Also if your not been doing anything physical before the muscles hold onto fluid to heal. So holding fluid is not uncommon. Make sure and change your routine like every 3 weeks so that you shake up your…

Well, I actually just read a big article last week about the fact they are saying now that stretching before & after has little effect on your run. I know I don't stretch before I head out for my big walks, and I don't have problems due to it. i believe to each their own. What works for you is what you need to do. Good Luck

Dont compare your system to your husbands. Women and men are built differently and we work in different ways. The muscles used swell with fluid and healing begins, but it will show a weight gain on the scale. Don't fret sometimes it takes the body a few days to catch up with the activity and then it will show on the scale.…

My situation is not a negative husband, its a man who he doesnt want me to gain alot of my weight back. But hal's the main cook in the house and I tell him I can't have that or this and he gets pissed. He doesn't understand that I know what works for me and I've tried to explain it and its like talking to a brick wall. I…
