Look up the C25K program...it gradually builds up your running till you are able to run for a half hour non stop. My wife and I are on week 5 and love it.

Most of those fit runners are in their own little world trying to get their workouts in. They might not say but I think logically they are proud of you for doing it. They know the benefits of being fit and why would they not want you to be fit!

My wife and I spent a half hour at our local running store. I tried on every brand that fit my style of running (I'm an overpronator). It's a lot like Harry Potter, in that I found the shoe picked me not the other way around!

Yeah, I would definately do it three days a week. I'm on week 4 but my wife and I did extend some weeks til we were comfortable to move on to the next week. And, of course, keep doing your other workouts on the other days....no reason to cut back if you already doing it!

I too believe in measuring cups and scales. When we return home from the grocery store I weigh our meats into individual serving sizes and then freeze them. Last night I made turkey pasta and couldn't have seconds, which is always my downfall.
