Just wanted to say hello and wish you luck! We've all been there and I guess that's why we are here! You can do this!

I'm a new runner! I just started a few weeks ago. I'm learning all I can about it! Feel free to friend me but I don't know alot I'm just getting started!
-
I"m in!

You all can add me as well. I'm on here everyday! I'm commited to doing this and seeing this through until the end. (which will be a long time)

I"m with you OP. This is a hard process and I think just being on here and reading through what other people are going through really helps. Everytime I get on that scale and it hasn't changed is really depressing but I have to remind myself that I didn't get fat overnight and I am not going to lose it ovenight either.…

Read success stories here. Seeing people that started out heavier than me and THEY made it.. reminds me I can too. [/quote] Thank you. I try to get on here and read through to find what has worked for everyone. Wishing this would go by faster...

I say log everything. Weigh everything. I bought a scale very recently and I can't believe the difference... My husband is not a fan of the scales but they really give a more accurate picture... I've said this before, no wonder I'm fat. I'm thinking I've done good and actually I was going way over my calories for the…

Thanks for this post OP. I was trying what to do as well. I run almost everyday becuase I love it but I know I need to work other muscles and I'm just starting out here. I've been reading about the lifting posts and I'm trying to figure out how to get into it. In so I can get ideas from people with more experience.

Love your post. I'm not divorced but I don't have real friends and I travel for work all the time, so I sent you a request. I don't make friends or I think it's more like I'm a lazy friend and don't keep them long... I'm new here and looking to get fit and healthy. It's a long road for sure and days like today it's nice to…

I see it in my face and my stomach, but everything else looks the same. I have noticed some muscles in my thighs are starting to peek through my fat. I stare at my flabby arms every single day... Come on weight loss! It's enough to make me want to give up, it's those days I go for a run. Sometimes I feel better and…

Training Director here and we are constantly around dounuts and fatty food choices. I just pack my breakfast and lunch and stick to it. We travel a great deal to and I just take what they serve and make it fit into my calories for the day. The exercise thing was tricky at first. I learned to call ahead and see if the…

Great thread OP. I felt like this over the weekend. Thanks to the advice on this site, I purchased the right shoes and yesterday I ran the entire 3 miles! I felt like I had won the lottery and my feet don't hurt. I'm a different person and stories like yours changed my life. So thank you for sharing. You all are making a…

I felt the same way when I started... I wanted to just lose weight fast. Now I realize how silly my goal was. I'm more focused on being healthy and fit and finding good food that fuels my body. I do eat low carb but that's because I feel so much better for some reason... Also it helps me make better food choices and I will…

Congrats on the weight loss! I tried doing slim fast and other fadish things but they only worked for a short time. This time around I'm counting calories and working out. I cut carbs out, not because I think I'll lose more weight ,but because they make me feel terrible. I eat alot of protein and I've found I don't have to…

Best post on MFP!!! My why is because life was passing me by... I refused to be in pictures and still do because of my weight and I couldn't stand to look in the mirror. I was this person I didn't know anymore... Today - I love to run and I don't mind counting calories. Cutting out carbs was the best thing I could have…

I'd like to be part of you guys too. I'm new here. I'm 5'3 and around 159. I'd love to be in the 120s. Please add me! This is such a long and difficult process. I feel like I"ve let myself down, getting to this point... Can't wait to get fit and thin!

I was thinking about this very question this weekend as I paid for my first pair of real running shoes, sweat/hair band to keep the sweat out of my eyes and various workout clothes. I realized I have changed from the person I was. I don't know if I count myself a runner just yet, but I'm close. I run about 3 miles…

You can do this!! Begin with the end in mind.
-
Wow! I love reading these stories. Great job and you look beautiful in both pictures, healthy in the last ones!
-
I still have a bit to lose, I'm fairly new here but you can add me.
-
Everybody gave good advice, so I won't repeat it. I just wanted to say that I'm sorry about your situation and it must mean that good things are headed your way. Keep your head up!
-
I'm 5'3 and 35 lbs smaller than the OP and I look much bigger than her so...
-
Ha Ha I see what you did there!

Thanks for the advice. I'm new to running and dieting so all the info on this site is awesome and somewhat confusing at times! Who knew there was so much to a good diet and exercise. I'm going to get new shoes this weekend. I streched and streched before running yesterday and I have very little pain today. Also I had to…

I know this is older but so glad I found this. I had no idea what was causing my heel pain when I started running. Do any of you have a brand of shoes? I think I'll replace my running shoes but I've no idea what to buy.
-
Loved the article. What I didn't see mentioned is other issues associated with gaining weight and exercising... Do any of you experts have anything you are willing to share. I started running last month and I've been having pain in my heel and I've changed shoes, bought inserts etc... Not trying to highjack the thread,…

I have a few days here and there where I will not lose anything and then, bam 2 lbs down. I stopped weighing everyday and only weigh every few days. It just drove me crazy to weigh everyday. I've learned you may be losing and it doesn't show on the scale. My advice is to keep doing the things your doing and give your body…

No, I don't believe it's genetics. I think it's eating more calories than you burn.
-
Weighing my food has been the best habit. All I can say is no wonder I'm fat...

Only my second post so take this with a grain of salt. What started working for me was being honest about calorie consumption. I was not logging things correctly and a bite here and there will add up and keep you from losing. Now I log everything and I do more exercise than I log. It's the only way I can lose. I'm…
