  • What helped me was finding some fit friends that hold me accountable and are also sharing the same journey. That way I see them going for it and it makes me want it too! I run these groups online all the time so if you think it might help, add me and I'll get you more info :)
  • It always helps to have a goal! Training for a 5 or 10K, an upcoming vacation and it helps to have some fit friends for support!
  • I Freeze the Triple Zero Oinkos Greek Yogurt - they taste like fro-yo!! But damn I totally feel you. I crave chocolate and carbs during TOM like no ones biz!
  • We each have our own success stories! How about we celebrate that instead of looking for something negative? Obviously the containers work for many people but you can't please em all. It's not an expensive investment and for people who struggle with knowing what to eat and how much of what to eat, it simplifies it greatly.…
  • most of my jeans right now. pretty much just want to wear sweats!
  • Wahoo! I love that you even shared a photo.. Putting yourself out there and holding yourself accountable!
  • This a GREAT tool to use to help you reach your goals. Feel free to add me - I am always open to connecting with others working on their fitness!
  • Oh wow, you've had some obstacles but I love that you aren't using it as an excuse to not do anything! You totally got this!! :)
  • I'd love to support you on your journey. I'm a 44 yr old Mom of three and new Grandma. :) This is an awesome tool to have!
  • Good for you!! Never too late to make a healthy change :)
  • Good for you two!! It's always so much easier with a workout buddy/accountability partner. You burn more calories because you are carrying more weight ;-)
  • Maybe seeing that is exactly what you needed to "snap out of it" as you said. I know for me, it was seeing an old picture of myself against a recent one (back when I just started my fit journey). The mental part plays such a HUGE part of being ready to really make a chance and really do what is required to get it done. I…
  • I know what you mean. Generally you probably eat more frequent "lighter" meals and you did not expect to feel so full after this 470 calorie meal. The fact you feel stuffed has you second guessing if it was accurate. Maybe it was, maybe it wasn't. Don't sweat it either way. You made a healthy choice with what you had to…
  • I have fallen off the wagon with my nutrition lately. Put 5 lbs back on. I workout regularly but struggle with nutrition so I'm going back to what works. MFP! Feel free to add me if you'd like.
  • I don't know that there's much you can do other than have your legs toned. Unfortunately, we can't target specific areas for weight loss or gain. I wish! If we could, I'd actually have boobs! ;-) Anyway, some people's legs are just bigger. My daughter is like that and she hates it too. But she likes them better big and…

  • 800 calories is way too low for anyone to safely lose weight and expect to be able to maintain that. You should really not go any lower than 1200 calories, combined with daily exercise to lose weight at a healthy, sustainable rate. Of course you are going to gain weight when you double your calorie intake from what your…
  • You will love it!! It's brilliant ;-)
  • I agree for sure over long term!! I have always been really bad about following "diets". I just try to eat clean (but don't judge today's diary, I'm on a work trip and my food choices are limited, lol!) and I usually do pretty well. I just kind of like the idea of trying this right before a vacay and I do think when I…
  • it's a workout program that comes with various workouts that are each thirty minutes but the cool part is that it's based on portion control. You get all these color coded containers and depending on what your make up or target calorie and nutritient goal is, you are alloted so many certain colored containers and each one…
  • I'm a 114 lb female who workouts 6 days a week so I shoot for 113 grams of protein per day and I also have carb and fat target I shoot for. It can be done but it is hard to get that much protein without going over on the other two. I agree with some of the others on here - you want protein in every meal and it can't always…
  • There is definately no magic pill or gimmick that is going to help you lose weight permanently. It's about living a healthy lifestyle that includes exercise, and eating healthy. It really isn't rocket science but that doesn't mean it's easy. It's not easy, especially when just starting out. I am finally to the point in my…
  • Good for you!! Are you kidding? Working out that hard at your age is wonderful! So many people use age as their excuse. But like one of my favorite trainers always says (Tony Horton), aging is for people who don't know better!
  • You should shoot for 500 calorie deficit and take into consideration how many calories your burning. You'll need something to measure calorie burn, something with a HRM to be most accurate to get a good idea of your burn. Or just estimate like you are now. I'm not sure what type of workouts your doing but I know I burn…
  • Hills are a great way to get your heart rate up without impact. If you have any hills in your area, go walk them. Or, incline on the treadmill and maybe try it with intervals. Walking flat and then on a hill, back and forth 2 min each.
  • I think the treadmills and elliptical typically show your burning more calories than you really are. I have a body media and it shows I burn less than what you would think but then again, it doesn't have a HRM either. I do alot of HIIT training and I don't think it takes into consideration how the heart rate goes. I've…
  • That's what I do - :) I'll bug ya as little or as much as you want!
  • You have done amazing and I love that you are not scale obsessed because some of our best victories have nothing to do with the scale. It seems like when people plateau, they need to mix up their routine. Your body has become used to what you're doing. Just mixing it up might be all you need to push through that plateau!
  • Results! :) For real, that's what kept me motivated in the beginning. Then, I really got addicted I guess you could say. Now I'm an Insanity Instructor and a Beachbody Coach so those two things really keep me motivated. I can't help other people with their health and fitness if I don't take care of my own and I truly LOVE…
  • You were beautiful before but now you are just stunning! You should be show proud of all you have accomplished. I'm sure your life has changed for the better in many other ways aside from just physical. I love seeing success stories!
