  • I'm down 45lbs so far and don't go to the gym either. I have a treadmill for winter cardio workouts, but I also run (outside in the nice weather) and use DVD's for strength training & abs. You don't NEED a gym membership. You don't NEED a treadmill or any other cardio machines. Just get off your butt and move. There are…
  • When you run on a treadmill, you are not propelling yourself forward like you have to do when you run outside. Therefore, it is "easier" to run at that pace on the treadmill than it is outside. The only way to improve actual running is to do it outside where you have the variation in inclines, wind, weather, humidity, etc.…
  • There are various options to log "running", depending on your mph. I would just choose the closest one and log your time.
  • After recently having a hip issue from running, I've gone back to swimming laps to get in my cardio workouts. I've always loved swimming, and it's great non-impact cardio workout. I'm not sure that it will change my physique all that much -- I still need to do toning exercises to firm up, but it helps with burning a ton of…
  • Don't let him sabotage your head and derail your efforts in self-improvement. Instead of being depressed and eating because of emotions, go to the gym and exercise or go for a walk -- get out there and move!! Exercise is better than therapy AND you will be doing even more to empower yourself to becoming a better YOU!! HUGS!
  • I haven't watched it, but good for you for changing your lifestyle and making a better "you". Whatever works, I always say!! I have also cut out all junk food, not by juicing, but just by stopping myself from eating it. I no longer crave it either, and it's great. I don't miss it and I'm down 43lbs so far. Keep up the good…
  • I'm a nurse as well, and I work 12-hour shifts, rotation. Whether I work days or nights, I bring all my food with me and only eat what I bring aside from 1 coffee on my dayshift morning coffee break. At night, I eat my big meal around 10 pm and then have a protein bar around 3 a.m. This gets me through the night until I…
  • It doesn't even look like same dress! Congrats on your success!
  • Amazing transformation! Congrats on your success!
  • So cute and sweet. Congrats on your weight GAIN!! :flowerforyou: :flowerforyou:
  • I turned 45 in May, but am in better shape as of this year, both physically and mentally, than I have been in about 20 years! Feels great. Nice to see so many of us as well!!
  • Fabulous!! Keep up the good work!
  • Ditto!! Congrats!
  • Congrats on your dedication and success!! Great results!
  • You're on the right track, but you need to eat more and reach your minimum calorie goal. Also, I don't know if you're not recording your water consumption, but you need to drink WATER!! Minimum 8-8oz. glasses per day. It seriously makes a huge difference.
  • I agree!! I also do my official weigh-in on Friday since I know I will likely indulge in something salty over the weekend at some point. I also know it's not "true" weight and that once the water intake increases, it will go back down. Don't despair! We're all in the same boat!
  • No, there is no weightloss "trick", and no, you will not be the fat girl forever. However, fit and healthy people generally eat healthy food and exercise regularly. It sounds like you've got the exercise part under control, so now you need to focus on eating better. Try eating foods with less carbs and sugar, and increase…
  • Fabulous success!! Congrats!
  • Solid advice. And words to live by. Congrats on your success and thanks for sharing!
  • I ran my first 5k in May. I ran it alone, but my family was there to cheer me on. My 2nd 5k, I ran with a friend. However, I run faster than she does, so we ran at our own paces and met up at the finish line. My 3rd one (today), I ran alone with no one there to cheer me on (only because the weather sucked). It kind of…
  • Awesome!! Congrats!

  • I don't think there's a "better" time for cardio. It's whenever it's better for YOU. Whatever you can fit consistently into your daily routine is when it's the best time. :)
  • Swimming will give you the most bang for your buck, and it's low impact cardiovascular, so it's very easy on the joints.
  • Congrats to you!! I recently ran my first 5k race as well. My first goal was to finish, my second goal was to not finish LAST!! LOL I achieved both goals. Like you, it was a crappy rainy day and my spirits were not very high on my way to the race. I almost decided to turn around and go home when the rain started on our way…
  • Looking Fabulous!! Congrats on all your hard work -- it's amazing what we can achieve once we change our mindset. I did the same thing in January, and I'm on my own weightloss/increased healthy lifestyle journey. I no longer use the word "diet" either, as this is not a temporary thing, but my new way of life. From one…
  • I agree with the poster that said count your calories of what you normally eat in a day. You may be eating way more calories than you should be in the small amount of food you're eating. From there, change your eating habits. Increase your fruit and vegetable intake, eat more low-fat/high-protein foods, limit, but don't…
  • Fabulous! You look great and you have a beautiful family.
  • Excellent job! Keep up the great work!
