Just want to say congratulations and you're doing a great job. I really admire that you are putting this journey out there on the Web to inspire others. At 2 pounds a week you are transforming in a safe and steady way. You will become healthy before you know it. Stay the course and thanks again for sharing!

Oh, also, I would say if anything I have learned that when you stall you just need to change things up. Keep your body guessing. Eat more. Do a new form of exercise. Eat less. Eat differently. Whatever it is, I have found that just throwing my body some type of curve ball usually breaks the stall.

I kind of stalled after my first month or so on keto. Went from 175 to the low 160s pretty quickly and then just couldn't get into the 150s during February or March. Then I introduced bulletproof coffee, and didn't realize but along with that started intermittent fasting. I usually eat dinner between 6 to 7 p.m. and then I…

I looked over your diary from last week. I think you were getting sufficient protein. Your carbs were really low (like 15 g on some days and I don't think that was net). The first few weeks were tough for me. Once you are really in ketosis you'll suddenly feel extremely energetic and not very hungry. Until then, I would…

I struggle with this too. I have lost 20 pounds, but I still have another 20 to lose before I'll look fit. I feel like people judge me -- strangers but even the people I know, the people who know I have lost 20 pounds but still roll their eyes when they see what I'm eating. For example, I was at brunch with some friends a…

Keto has made me love vegetables for the first time in my life! I am eating more vegetables now than I ever have in the past. For me, it's the fat that I add to them that makes me love them so much. Cabbage sauted in coconut oil and then sprinkled with sea salt and some butter melted on top -- OMG, it's like dessert! Last…

Thinking it over, I don't think there is any reason why this would affect my ketosis. It's a small amount of honey/sugar. And if I'm factoring in the carbs, I should be fine. So, I guess I answered my own question! Going to leave up in case others have the same question some day.

Since starting keto earlier this year, I'm overall down 20 pounds and several dress sizes, but the scale has been up and down every week. I see a bigger change in my body than I have seen on the scale. With keto, you're literally melting fat cells. So even if the scale seems slow or sometimes up, trust that your body is…

I just started keto this year. On Jan. 2, 2013, actually. It has been interesting. I started at 175 and dropped 10 pounds within the first 3 weeks. Then it was about 1 pound a week or every few weeks. I took some "breaks" in between (a weekend here, a week there). I've lost 20 pounds so far. That may not seem like a huge…

Same here! A little bit of butter in my morning bulletproof coffee seems to be fine, but cutting out the cheese seems to have helped. I love it too much to cut it out completely, but I am trying to limit it to one or two days a week. I do have a little Greek yogurt here and there, but otherwise that's my only dairy. Thanks…

Def a good option for ketosis. I get mine from Whole Foods. (Actually, they now sell an English Toffee liquid form that is so delicious with my Bulletproof Coffee!) Just remember that it does have some carbs. I limit my stevia intake to no more than 4 packets a day ~ 3 or 4 carbs max.

Feel free to add me! I am also pretty new to keto, but have had great success with it during the past couple of months. I eat very clean (not much processed foods -- though I am pro-lacto). I'm more primal than paleo (re: http://www.marksdailyapple.com/whats-the-difference-between-primal-and-paleo/#axzz2QXlZdR3f) but I…

Everyone is different -- but for me, I didn't enjoy the structured programs. So what I did (and still do) is I do a 5 minutes walk and then I jog or run as far as I feel like it and then I take a walking break. I really listen to my body and do what feels good. Sometimes I sprint for several minutes, sometimes I just jog…

I cut it out for several days and did get the scale moving again. I love cheese and I don't think I need to cut it out completely, but I'm going to limit it to one day a week.

Thanks for all the advice. I've been doing 70-20-10 (give or take) for a few weeks now and I do believe it's helping. I finally got into the 150s. Weight loss is slow but fairly steady for me, around 1 pound a week. I also increased my calories to 1400-ish. I'm working out quite a bit, so I think that's helped.…

Thanks! I've been good about tracking all carbs and watching that number, so I'll stick with that. Appreciate the perspective. I am just trying to slowly figure out how much I can get away with, because I was so strict for so long -- but that isn't extremely sustainable for me, especially when it comes to fruit. I don't…

I struggled with this before keto, but definitely find it to be an issue now as well. In the past, I used to convince myself that I needed a Venti Mocha and pastry in the morning to ensure things move along. What I've been doing with keto is a few things: *I love the Smooth Move teas (found at Whole Foods). I have one cup…

I ordered one and actually already heard from their customer service. Super impressed with the company so far. I hope I find it easy to figure out how to use it once it arrives. Thanks for the recommendation.
-
You can add me! I am actually keeping my carbs in the 20-30 g range (I started out in the 40-50 g range and just wasn't losing much after the initial drop).

I am always amazed at how many options are available in the database -- and when they are not, I take a minute or two to get the accurate information and then add it to the database. I have a lot of standard meals saved for myself. It's so great for me because I have this library of things I eat and their nutritional…

I'm doing Brazilian Butt Lift. It really targets the butt in a way no exercise has for me. I still have another 20 pounds I want to lose, but I don't want to lose my curves, so this has been the perfect workout for me. A few of the discs are really just dance (a lot like Zumba), but the sculpting disc is awesome. In…

I've been trying to lose 30 pounds. I'm more than half way there since starting earlier this year. When you don't have a ton to lose you have to expect that it'll be slow. I have had weeks where I didn't lose anything and weeks where I even went up a bit. My suggestion is to mix things up. If what you're doing isn't…

Go to the beach with friends and not ruin the experience because I'm freaking out about how I look in my bathingsuit...

Thank you, kiramaniac. That confirms my suspicions. I'll try to cut back on it a bit.

I am all about this! April is a really important month for me to stay focused because I'll be on the beach in a two-piece just a week into May! SW = 175 CW = 158 GW = 150 (by the last day in April -- that's 2 pounds a week) Weigh in Dates: 4/1 = 158 4/8 4/15 4/22 4/28 End of Month (or whatever weigh in days you use)

The bulletproof coffee every morning has really helped me. (To make mine, I use: 16 ounce coffee, 2 TBSP half-and-half, 1 TBSP Kerrygold Irish butter, 2 TBSP MCT oil -- which is derived from coconut oil.) In addition, I add some cheese to lunch and/or dinner (or even a cheese stick as a snack) and I make sure I cook with…

I live in Boulder, but we have plans Saturday night. Besides, beer is a no-no for me right now. Have fun though!

I did decide to try a nice Pinot Noir with dinner on Friday night. Oh wow, it tasted so good after nearly a month without! And interestingly, Saturday morning I was finally down a pound (hit 159 at last). So if it stalled me, it wasn't for long. I will still try to keep it limited to 1 glass a week max, but so glad I can…

Beach Body is a totally legit company, IMO. I have P90 and Brazilian Butt Lift. I even signed up on their site long ago. I get the occasional email to buy Shakeology or a new DVD, but I don't get an obnoxious amount of marketing emails from them and have never felt pressured or hounded to buy more. Never had issues with…

I started at 175 Jan. 1, 2013, and lost 15 pounds that month -- but most of February and March my loss has gone up and down by a few pounds, but ultimately I am still at the low 160s. I'm going to be in a bathingsuit on the beach with friends in just 6 weeks (literally 6 weeks from today!) and I have got to get to the 150s…
