  • I'm older than most of you so have had more time to make dumb mistakes with food and fitness. I have been successful in the past with extreme calorie restriction, but once I went back to regular eating I had no control. The things I prefer are all empty calories, fat & sodium-laden. Emotions play a big role for me. An…
  • 05/01=5.19 05/02=5.03 total =10.22
  • 05/01: 11,359
  • 05/01: 5.19 miles
  • I've read about abs in many places, written by many people. One constant through it all is planks, planks, planks, All kinds of planks. I'll know more subjective proof in a few months if I can only keep at the planks!
  • I lost quite a bit of weight a few years ago and was concerned about the state of the "golf ball in a bag" breasts I had. Once everything settled down they didn't look so bad, and did fill out a bit. But while I was losing and shortly after I stopped they did look pitiful. Give it a little time once you reach your goal to…
  • I will shoot for a minimum of 50, but hope to have many more miles.
  • Have you charged the battery? I had a problem with mine in that I had an earlier version and it took me several tries to get the site to recognize my newer version. I just kept at it, but think that battery charging is an important component. Good luck.
  • http://www.heel-that-pain.com/ I have posted this before and will continue to post it. Between the self-help info and the reasonably priced heel inserts they have you covered. I started C25K in bad shoes and suffered with PF for awhile. Even if you choose not to buy anything, the self-help info is valuable. I am pain free…
  • I love my Fitbit. It is very motivating to me to see my daily stats in pie charts and bar graphs. I try to do better each day. I don't think the calorie counts are perfect, but I doubt my HRM had perfect calorie counts either and it wasn't nearly as motivating. If you want to know how many steps you took in a day, how many…
  • The workout schedule is workout 6 days rest on the 7th. Do the Dance Cardio each day followed by the Transform Workouts. Do workout 1 each day for 10 days and then switch to workout 2, etc - until 90 days later you have completed workout 9. People either seem to love her or hate her. I have done other TA workouts and like…
  • I would suggest a trip to the library. Our local library has plenty of workout videos. You can try out different types for free. Once you find a type you like you can then think about investing the money. I've spent plenty of cash on workouts that bored me, were too easy, were too hard or had Jillian Michaels constantly…
  • I'm certainly no fitness expert, but I can tell you what has worked for me. I have tried several different supplements for joint pain. I am currently using Move Free Ultra by Schiff. It's a tiny pill once a day. When I take it daily my hip, knee, heel pain is greatly diminished. Another cause of your hip pain might be your…
  • I joined in yesterday. I need this thread to keep me committed. I've tried to do it on my own several times, but lose momentum. I'm glad the thread is going. LG
  • Please don't allow anyone, not even yourself, to body-shame you into not wearing what you want to wear. I'm hella old now, but when I was a teenybopper someone gave me a bikini. I thought I was hot stuff in that bikini. However, a woman I trusted and admired saw me in it and said, "I didn't know you were that fat.". I…
  • I had a bad bout with PF when I first started running. I sometimes get twinges these days, but I know better how to nip it before it gets bad. I found really helpful information and an orthotic at http://www.heel-that-pain.com/ As soon as I got the PF down to a dull roar I went to a "running store" , not the local shoe…
  • There are impact moves in 30DS, but you can modify. The first time I did it I did all the jumping/running moves on a mini-trampoline. This reduced said impact and helped me complete the 30 days. The second time through I didn't seem to need the trampoline. LG
  • I have worked with two women who had gastric bypass surgery. Post surgery they had to be very careful of their fat intake and generally only eat a tablespoon or two of anything at a time. However, they had to take supplements several times a day because they can't get their nutrients in what little they eat. Just FYI, both…
  • Thank you for posting the link. Blood sugar isn't my interest, but blood fats are. I was fascinated by the change in his blood draw after a long, relatively slow-paced walk. I may slow down some of my walks, but extend the distance. LG
  • Check out a website called heelthatpain.com. I know at least 2 people with PF, one has tried physician + physical therapy, the other has tried surgery. Neither one has gotten more relief than I have by using the methods on the website and wearing their inexpensive hee insert.

  • During level 1 my Polar 4 said I burned 178 calories
  • I had decided to try another DVD first, but I just received Callanetics 10 Years Younger recently so will join your challenge for 10 days anyway! I like being accountable to a group. I'm a classic "apple" shape so am most concerned about arms and midsection. L arm=12" Midriff=39" Belly Button=38" Lower abs=41" Yikes, I've…
  • I started the shred again today and was hoping for a group to keep me accountable. I want to join in. I did the shred for 30 days starting in late January and it really kicked my *kitten*. I got some good results from it inch-wise, but the best thing was just the sticking with it-that really boosted my confidence. I did it…
  • I like Tracy Anderson's Mat Method DVD, however I am not a trained dancer as she is and I can't really follow her cardio routines that are in the 30-Day Method book/DVD. I run or "move about my living room quickly to music" which would be like her cardio if I could dance ;-> I haven't tried her diet. I have been watching…
  • I love the Mat Method workout. It was hard as heck at first, don't let the fact that she uses 3 pound weights lull you into thinking that the workout is easy!
  • Just for today I will forgive myself for failure, whether real or just perceived.
