  • I just turned 28, single and no kids - it's nice to know I'm know the only one though!
  • I always find the first week is a good loss - but well done on the excellent start, use it to keep you motivated going forward, even if future losses are smaller.
  • My local super market sells a 20g bag of mini breadsticks (85 cals) and I buy mini pots of Philadelphia low fat soft cheese to go with it (34 cals). I normally eat it with my lunch, but if I get peckish mid-morning it fills the gap nicely - and has the same advantage of keeping your hands busy!
  • Hi, I don't know if anyone's already posted this but there's a group for people looking to loose 100lbs and over: http://www.myfitnesspal.com/groups/home/685-100-lbs-to-lose Lisa x
  • The butter and flour are used to thicken the sauce - I usually replace this with Corn Flour (mixed with a little cold water to prevent lumps). So easy and no butter in sight! My dad has been doing this for years when making sauces, not even for health/ diet reasons; just because it's quicker and easier than making roux!
  • Hi, I'm a Swimming Teacher - if your leg kick is lopsided, do a few lengths and concentrate on keeping your hips level (hold a float in your hands if you have one, but it can be done without). With practice you will automatically Your weak leg will get there eventually with practice (it's the same as other exercise). If…
  • Add me, I'm in! Lisa x
  • I've always been picky with vegetables, recently I've made myself do it anyway because I need the variety, (although I think my tastes have changed as I've gotten older too!) but even as a teenager at my pickiest I didn't notice them in curries or stir-frys with strong flavours that mask the ones I don't like. Another…
  • I had a lot of interviews after graduating before getting a job and one tip I still remember is when giving examples, be specific. For example, if they ask about a time you worked in a team don't just reply with a generic 'I worked in a team in my shop assistant role', give details and say 'our delivery arrived on a Friday…
  • I love stir-frying them - you can do it really healthily if you use a spray oil on the pan and then just add the herbs and spices you want (I use chilli, garlic and ginger) and a good slug of soy sauce and it tastes better then anything you could buy from a takeaway or a shop bought sauce! It doesn't have to be any…
  • If you have a fire to cook on you can do Jacket potatoes - just wrap them in foil and put them on the edge of the fire (not too close that they burn to charcoal, but not too far away that they don't cook) It's been a few years since I've done this so I don't recall timings, but probably an hour or two as it's a long slow…
  • I know how you feel, my sister often talks me into things like that (despite trying to loose weight herself) - and I've gotten to the point where I am just putting my foot down and saying no. It helps, for me, that she's 'trying' to loose weight* too as she can appreciate that it's better for both of us, but now when I do…
