Some chicken for sure! Maybe marinate it in a mix of balsamic vinegar with a bit of olive oil, soy sauce various spices, maybe even some pinapple for several hours to make sure it's moist.

It's good to make others aware that sometimes the reason for obesity is complex and born of pain and an effort to self medicate just like any other drug. Your journey is one from a very dark place to one of healing and strength. May God bless you as you strive in your new life. You have power now, the good kind!

MFP has me set at 1200 calories a day, which by the way is the low as it goes, but I am sedentary due to disability. I don't work, do household chores, walk, and despite losing 115 pounds I still have 75 pounds to lose at 5'2". When I first joined MFP my calorie suggestion was 1380 per day and then over time decreased as…

I need to update my photo, but my favorite compliment thus far came from my daughter who told me that I looked "normal" now. That meant so much because no longer need I feel like the fattest woman in the room, or endure the looks on peoples faces who are wondering if a chair will hold me, or wear something not because I…

Thank you for sharing and indeed you and your friend have been blessed by a seemingly happenstance meeting. A 16 year old boy in a town close to mine committed suicide just last week due to bullying. I saw his picture on the news and he was just a beautiful kid who should have been given a simple chance by his cruel…

You're definitely awesome...thank you for this as I've been looking for a better crust than cauliflower.

I can relate and still even after a loss of more than 100 pounds it's a daily battle. I think we have to find what works best for us and that may involve some trial and error. Feel free to add me if you like as I've still a ways to go.

I don't know which is the most amazing..your new absolutely " turn around and look again handsome looks" or that you're humble about it all. Even an old lady can appreciate what a fine looking man you are and how hard you've worked to achieve your goal. Still, most importantly are the more healthy years you've likely added…

I am so happy for you I can't even express it. You may not be able to even grasp what an impact this will have on your life...all good! I wish I had been as smart as you are 30 years ago. By losing this weight you are literally extending your life and the quality of it and for everyone who loves you. You now can avoid all…

I don't usually interfere but going two days with nothing but water is probably not the best idea if you want to jumpstart your weight loss. It's more than likely going to make you feel weak, light-headed, and really hungry. Eat sensibly and reduce your calories in a healthy way designed to get you going on a permanent…

Good discussion but you win the prize as far as I'm concerned. No doubt it's cheaper and easier to eat sugar laden, high fat and heavily processed foods, especially if one has a large family and is working two jobs just to get by. I also agree with another person who commented that sometimes the pleasure of having…

You've already gotten a lot of good advice here so I'll just agree with the majority of the comments. Fast is not the way to go, but if it works for you as a way to get started then it's not necessarily a bad thing. The most important mantra here is that while some folks may be able to lose quicky the trick is to keep it…

It's great to read all the comments made by such wonderfully motivated people who are undaunted by the journey ahead. We folks that are on the 100 pound plus weight loss plan can truly benefit from the support and tips of others. I like that you have a realistic goal of 5-10 pounds a month. That seems wise and will…

Hi Dee, you've already had a huge success in understanding that it's a real, honest to goodness addiction that you're facing. Some folks on MFP are not addicts and they're people who perhaps didn't have nutritional information and they gained a bit of etra weight. It's my opinion that someone like me who gained all the way…

Hi and you're absolutely right that losing weight will make a big difference in your pain as well as your mobility. I'm 63 and my doctor calls me "an orthopedic nghtmare" due to severe joint damage due to RA and osteoarthritis. I'm affected throughout my body and also take many of the medications you mentioned for pain.…

I think I'm the oldest person to "weigh in" on this thread at 63 and I've lost 100 plus by reducing calories alone. Due to severe arthritis I cannot exercise and while my loss seems to be stalling now, I anticipate the scales will continue to go down eventually. Don't let age stop you from beginning your weight loss…

Add me to the club. I was 339 at 5'2" and now down to 334, but it's taken me since 11/12. I would love some tips and input to keep me going.

Hi and welcome to MFP. Here you will find support from caring folks. It seems to me that you didn't get the best pre-surgery information. Also more information about the post surgery requirements as well as the impact of such a dramatic decision on you emotionally, would have been invaluable. Ok, like another member…

These sound wonderful, but is the oatmeal cooked first?

You've had a remarkable year not just in weight loss, but also in insight and the inspiration you've given to so many on MFP. If it was possible for you to hear all of your friends together I'm sure you'd be hearing "Hip Hip Hip HOORAY"!

Wow, you're asking a tough question here and I don't have an answer except to tell you of my own experience. I'm very sedentary due to severe rheumatoid arthritis in most of my joints. I can't walk or stand more a few minutes and I was 339 when I started here. I'm only 5'2" so my BMI was dreadful, 61 I think. When I…

Thank you for this excellent post. I agree that over eating will ALWAYS be a problem for some of us, just as taking even one drink could derail an problem drinker. It's not something that we can simply recover from and it must be monitored for the rest of our lives because there is no normal eating for someone like me.

I think a lot of here have lost and gained back weight many times over, but there is hope. You're just 36 and you have a whole long life ahead of you to enjoy. As so many others here have already told you, begin to log...everything. After failing so many times before logging my foods has been the single biggest difference…

Your life has had so much tragedy, loss, and even horror. Most of us will never have to face so many terrible trials of senseless loss, betrayal and yet you not only have endured but you have been forged into a compassionate, wise woman, and an inspiration to so many. Despite all, you give God praise and allow this…

My step son and his wife have changed their lives following this plan. Before beginning this plan he (age 48) was more than 100 pounds overweight had just been diagnosed as having diabetes and he had severe sleep apnea, high blood pressure, and other health risks. She was 80 pounds overweight and was having joint pain,…

I can relate. For me the best compliment I have received was from my daughter. She remarked, "Mom, you look like a normal person now". That for me was great because it meant that I no longer was going to be noticed as the fattest person present.

My goodness you've become a genuine beauty, and your handsome husband and beautiful children must be so proud of you! Well done!
-
When my eyes went from the pic of you in the bikini top to the next one I know my jaw dropped. Seriously, you don't need all of us to tell you how amazing your transformation is and selfies, in your case, are wonderful! Your post is so true and shows a man with heart and a contemplative mind. I know you're enjoying your…

Oh my goodness, you look so fit and trim, and gorgeous to boot. Your children must be so proud of their beautiful mommy! Well done.

Congratulation on your anniversary. It surely seems as if you and Ed have a woderful relationship and that is something to celebrate for sure. I'm so excited for your upcoming surgery and I hope I'm right behind you!
