  • Good food choices. Thank you for sharing your diary as it helps others also trying to average 1200 per day.
  • Welcome to a new life! Please keep us updated and I promise I'll be reading every word.
  • After reading all these positive comments I think you know that you're making a statement about how all of us should be living our lives. You have an uncommon candor and sincerity and that makes you truly beautiful. One of my favorite quotes by a 19th century English Quaker says "Never tell a child,” said George MacDonald,…
  • You may add me as I too appreciate and need the encouragement
  • You tell it like it is!
  • Hi, I am so happy for you! I noticed that some folks assumed that you'd not had any type of gastric surgery and even made comments implying that non-surgery somehow made you superior over someone who did not have surgery. Don't be dismayed at those sort of remarks because the important thing is that you lost the weight the…
  • Hi, it suits me best to not even own a set of scales. It sounds crazy but I trust that if I'm eating right then I will lose weight. To weigh myself daily or even weekly makes me obsess and worry if the scales don't reflect a loss. I weigh in at the doctor's office every 4 to 6 weeks and this way it seems I get a better,…

  • You always make me chuckle at your candidness. We can't pick and choose our body types, nor can we defeat the aging process. I think that's where the "gracefully" part comes in, because I can't imagine any woman happy to have "pancakes" instead of her former figure. Men shrink too, ya know, but they don't talk so much…
  • I have an open diary and I don't understand why most people keep theirs private. Can someone tell me if I shouldn't be as candid. Also I noticed that your diary is private as well. Until I learn why I shouldn't mine will be open and I try to stay at about 1300. I love food and helps me to avoid temptation by eating more…
  • Curious, but what's ACE?
  • Welcome Urs, I'm trying to do the same as you, one day at a time! Feel free to add me if you like.
  • Hi, welcome to the best thing you have ever done for yourself. I'm having the sleeve in late April, or early May as I' just completed the 6 month program required by my insurance company. I've done a lot of research and agree with others that the lap-band is probably not suited for those of us with a lot to lose. I've read…

  • Thank you! For me and others who will be having gastric surgery, this would be invaluable information.
  • Well now you have me worried! I'm planning on the "sleeve" in May and while I expect some misery for a couple of days, I really didn't expect weeks or even months of feeling ill. Also at my age, 63 in May and mobility impaired, I'm even more nervous. Any advice? Encouragement?
  • Congratulations for your wise epiphany! You're way ahead of me but we're on the same journey. I'll never make a marathon, but I will see success none the less.
  • I enjoy the small 100 calorie bags of popcorn for the snack craving times.
  • It's interesting to read of the different dietary expectations before surgery. I also am in the last month of a 6 month pre-surgery insurance requirement. My surgeon suggested 1200 calories per day for a weight loss of 10-12 pounds per month. He said that the more weight I lost before surgery would reduce post surgical…
  • Best wishes to you! I can imagine how excited and also a bit nervous I will be before my own surgery, probably in April. You've done so well already that by April you'll be well on your way to a much improved life. Please keep in touch and let us know how you're doing. Prayers now for you.
  • You're such a pretty lady and what a lucky family you have that you're taking good care of yourself and everyone else too.
  • I agree with the folks that say it's the low 500 calories, not the HCG that causes the faster weight loss. Maybe someone with only a few pounds to lose a might have success, but after many years of drastic yo yo dieting, I've learned that such severe deprivation just made me much more vulnerable to cheating, triggering a…
  • Amazing transformation ! You've achieved what many of us very obese folks never dream we can. Thanks for the inspiration.
  • I think it's so typical of a lot of overweight people to feel frustrated when their results don't seem to equal the effort. I think you're doing an inspiring job at working on improving your health, and while you might not see the results now, there is absolutely no doubt that you're a success. Due to severe disability I…
