  • Really try to like yogurt or kefir. You can make fruit smoothies with it, or mix sugar-free jam in it. Cottage cheese with probiotic is also an option. I think the probiotic is very important b/c it helps with elimination which is very important with losing weight. I have noticed a huge improvement in my regularity since…
  • Yes you can take green tea supplements. I've heard that lots of people stop with the green tea b/c it apparently boosts some people's blood pressure too much. I think the point of it is to increase your metabolism. So try and stick to it, but if you have adverse reactions like bp or constipation, decrease your intake or…
  • Hey everyone, I saw your questions about nuts, and I just thought I'd let you know that there has been an update by Dr Mike that 2tbsp of unsalted nuts is equivalent to one of your allotted healthy fats for the day, and can be enjoyed during any cycle. I have unsalted almonds every day, as they are a great way to add in…
  • my favourite meal today was my favourite meal i've had on the whole diet. Turkey taco salad. Ground turkey breast, taco seasoning, lettuce, tomatoes, cucumbers, no/low sugar salsa, no/low sugar taco sauce, fat free sour cream, 1 serving of light cheese. Delicious!!
  • suziecue, be careful of the sugar content in sweet chili sauc
  • Hello Everyone! I'm glad to have found another active board for the 17dd. I have belonged to the very active facebook group for a while now, but I'm growing increasingly less fond of facebook, in general. Anyways, I have been doing the 17dd faithfully for 5 months now, and have lost a total of 52 lbs since starting it. I…
  • Oh and I forgot to mention, the more you have to lose, generally you see quicker results....but that goes the same with every change in diet.

  • This. I have been doing the 17 day diet since Jan 9 of this year, and I have lost a total of 52lbs (since I started it) so far. I have really been enjoying it, and I really do think that over the 5 months, I really have learned to eat better. Feel free to friend me or ask me other questions, if you have any.

  • I'm sure people will agree with me when I say that the most essential component of weight loss and keeping it off is nutrition. Yes, exercise is great for you, but if you don't learn to eat properly, you'll have a hard time maintaining your losses. I say this not to be rude, but in hopes of helping. I've also always been…
  • No problem!
  • 2 g of sugar (per tablespoon I assume?) isn't too bad, provided you don't eat i like crazy. It's not like sugar has to be completely avoiding, I'm personally trying to eat as clean as I can most of the time, and following the 17 Day Diet, so I try to avoid all sugar, unless it's unavoidable. If people ask me for tips,…
  • I love peanut butter as well, but be careful with it as well since the regular ones are loaded with sugar. If in moderation it's not so bad, but if it's a regular treat, I would recommend getting a natural peanut butter with peanuts as the only ingredient. Yes honey roasted peanuts are delicious, but again sugary! the most…
  • Definitely add weights in. Definitely eat more...at least your exercise calories at a minimum. Also how much sugar is in those Carnation breakfast drinks? You mentioned your snacks disappeared, so you may already be doing this, but eat some unsalted almonds or other unsalted nuts every day as well (portion control though).…
  • I have always liked my shoulders. I think they are a great shape, and I'm working on making them even better. But they also have these cute dimples on them. I also like my hair. Long straight and natural red/auburn.
  • whey is a form of protein. It comes in a powder format to make shakes out of. it's a great addition for adding extra calories when you need them as well as if you're trying to build some muscle, your body needs the extra protein to repair itself. You can get it in any health store as well as places like Walmart and Costco.…

  • Apparently the author has posted video updates somewhere and whey protein shakes are allowed. There is an awesome facebook group (the official one) with a lot of people who have been doing the diet a long time and have a lot of wisdom. Everyone there is very supportive and it's a great place to ask questions

  • ampgsp03.... i eat a lot of chicken breast! During cycle 1, my meals are 2 servings of yogurt, 2 servings of fruit, chciken and vegetables for lunch and supper, with some variation (ie ground turkey with taco seasoning to make a taco salad) salads, steamed veggies and a lot of water. I also have plain un-salted almonds,…

  • kooshajan...you probably felt that way due the detox that takes place in the first cycle. Also, if you follow the menu plan to a T, it's actually short on daily calories...i think it was actually meant to be an example not the bible, so you may have been cutting yourself short on calories. The 1st week and a half I was…

  • I have been on the 17 Day Diet since January 9th of this year, so just over 4 1/2 months. As of this morning, I've lost 48 lbs since being on it. I've gone through the first 3 cycles almost 3 full times now. I am very much enjoying it. I have not been perfect, but I still have not had a single week without any weight loss.…

  • Your BMR is 1521 and based on sedentary lifestyle, your TDEE is 1825, so I would suggest upping your calories a bit to 1325, and this would be net. So your goal should be 1325 plus try to eat some/most of your exercise calories.. The only other thing I would suggest is to watch your sodium intake, and drink lots of water.
  • Hey! You can add me. I've been on here off and on for about a year, but have been logging seriously every day since Feb or March of this year. I'm 33, and have lost 43 lbs since Jan and have about 76 more to go.
  • mine is currently 14.8% and my goal is 40.6%
  • Wow! Great job! I've been doing 17dd for almost 4 months and have shed 35 lbs so far. I hope to be able to post a pic like yours some day. How tall are you?
  • I'd like to join. Thanks!
  • As of Monday I will have been on the 17 Day Diet for 3 months. Last Sunday I hit 30 lbs lost. I don't mind the restrictions and you get used to it. It is nice though that you get to change it up every 17 days, in my opinion I'm ready for a bit of a change after 17 days. I've been following it fairly strictly with a few…
