I agree that it has to come within, but that doesn't mean that other people can't offer advice my advice: 1. don't make all the changes at once! I found it much easier to just count calories for the first 20 lbs or so, then added exercise later. Working out while on a calorie deficit was just too hard for me at the…

Seven pounds in under a month is huge!! You just need to re-adjust your expectations. If you are feeling worn out and hungry, then increase your calories and let the weight loss go a bit slower. It will still come off and you'll feel better and be able to do it for longer. I lost my first 25 pounds over the course of a few…

Package up cookies as soon as they are cool to be given away so that I don't snack on them (I develop and test recipes, always baking around!)

I love so much about this story and how you wrote it. I came about weightloss in a similar fashion and my method aligns with yours of sticking to it and finding balance. Sometimes while browsing le internet I'll be reading blog after blog of extreme diets or excersize regimes and I'll think to myself "gee, maybe I should…

I find that if i focus on getting as much fiber as possible and protein then I'm good. But if I don't make that effort then I get hungry/grumpy.

Whoa, you are smoking hot at any weight! Congrats on the loss so far :)

There's an awesome website for this! Its http://www.mybodygallery.com/ People of all heights and weights have uploaded photos of themselves, so all you do is input your height and the weight you think you are going for and then take a look at the photos. It gives you an idea of how you'd look at different weights, I…

There's already so much good advice here! I had similar issues with work/fun/workout balance and discovered that getting up early was the best way to fit it all in. I also really agree with people who suggested inviting friends to work out with you, I take a hot yoga class with my boyfriend once a week on a night that we…

I really didn't workout for the first half of my weight loss because of a back injury. And then when I started it was really slow.. I've only started focusing on fitness for this last part and I do it because I love it. You don't need to workout to lose weight, and if working out makes you unhappy at the moment, then don't…

Thanks for this! I've been increasing my calories over the last couple of months, but they still weren't as high as the ones given to me in the simulator. I think I'll increase just a teeny bit more. Slow and steady for the win!

I get up really early so if I don't get a couple of times in the morning I'm dying by lunch 5am : breakfast snack 9am: real breakfast Noon: lunch 3:30pm: afternoon snack 7-ish: dinner

I agree with the people saying change it to lightly active. I chose sedentary because I literally sit at my desk from the moment I start working until I go home. I try to get up and stretch every once in a while but other than that.. sitting. allllll day long (harder than it sounds!) Being on your feet, carrying things,…

I'm on my last 8 or so and I'm stretching it out over three or more months. I figure its going to go slowly regardless of if I eat 1200 or 1400 and I'm much happier eating 1400. Started doing that when I had 15 left and so far its still all coming off.

Very put together (the outfit, hair, and heels)

I've had a troublesome back for most of my adult life and it would often go out. I also went to physio because I felt that chiro wasn't as regulated and full of quacks. After a huge huge back blow-out/injury I was doing physio constantly but was really scared a lot of the time that my back was going to suddenly go out…

Mine has always loved fitness and working out, when we started dating I still had a lot of the weight to lose and he never ever mentioned it or made any sort of deal about it. I noticed that he always made time to work out or play hockey, even if it meant missing out on other plans. I find it hard to make time for myself…

That's my plan too! I've been losing my weight slowly over a few years (losing for a bit, then maintaining for a month or two, then back to losing) and I'd love to post my story that includes successfully maintaining a weightloss over an extended period of time. Once I get to 55lbs lost I'll be posting before and afters.

Exactly the same for me. The first few times were hard, but now after months of doing it it's just business as usual

I love this post! Good luck with calorie counting! I totally agree that gives you the most control over your weight loss. Want a cookie? Fine, have one.. just log it and eat less of something else. Basically just lets you live your life while making small manageable adjustments that all add up to a healthier lifestyle. :)

I pay about 40/month for a 24/7 gym and then I go to barre 3x a week and pay 160 for unlimited classes there. The barre classes sound expensive but I've never gotten such quick results, plus I love them so it's something that I never skip. It is worth the money to me.

I do a couple of the body blast videos. Mainly the swam arms and the hips and thighs. They fit nicely into my schedule for days that I'm not really working out but they burn like mad.
