Hey Sherry! 1200 is the minimum amount of calories that a woman should eat. Since I've gotten a trainer, he actually increased my intake from 1200, to 1300-1500 (depending on exercise) and since I've followed his advice I've started dropping weight much more steadily and quickly. Don't be scared to do pushups! Modify them:…

My guess would be you're overworking them. I run, and my trainer says if you have pain that doesn't subside within 10 minutes or so after stopping the activity then it may actually be an injury. I would take some time off running and do something that doesn't put some much strain on your calves. I also do definitely…

I have done the 30DS. I lost several inches and no weight (which I know is fine). With a c-section I think she should check with her ob/gyn because there is some concentrated ab work.

I know the equipment at the gym is always way off, because it's not set to your personal weight. I don't really use equipment, but from what I understand, most that do use a Heart Rate Monitor if they want accurate results.

I did interval training for the 1/2 marathon I ran. It truly helped my training. I disliked the .25 miles sprinting, with the .25 miles walk/run recovery so he just told me to sprint as long as I could and recover as needed. I did it that way, ,and it really did shed about 15 minutes off my race time.

My son has an inborn error of metabolism and requires L-carnitine as part of his care. For a typical person, l-carnitine really doesn't have any benefits due to the fact that is has very little shelf life in your body. If your body doesn't need it, it excretes it. It can also have side effects like causing a fishy smell…

I'd go see for sure that it isn't anything that would require some physical therapy, or seeing and ortho, but as far as supporting your knee, KT tape is great and really helps me. I tore a ligament in my knee and have some ITB issues and KT tape helps with both of those!

I've got 6 kids, and can't ever really get to the gym. I pop on a workout DVD when the little ones are sleeping, I have some strength training I've got memorized and just do that routine whenever an opportunity presents itself. I am training for a 1/2 marathon next month, so I do have to always run 4 days a week. I just…

I'm new too and would love to have a buddy! I've excercised off and on, but with 6 kids I have trouble finding the time! My youngest son was diagnosed with a rare metabolic disorder through Newborn Screening at birth, and since then I've become very involved in a foundation for families with children like mine. Crazy as I…
