The scale is just a datapoint. There is too much variation in a single day to count on it .. too much salt, water retention, not enough water, etc. I rely on the tape-measure.

I have a Big Green Egg. It's perfect for pork loins, beer can chicken, pork shoulder and brisket. I usually cook up a large something on the weekend and the freeze the leftovers. However, beer can chicken salad is wonderful.

It depends on which one you are taking; it is a side effect for some. Some meds take weeks to start becoming effective, so this could just be temporary. BTW, meds will not stop the urge to eat for comfort, that is psychological not biological.
