I do this with the "Just Great Stuff" PB Powder. It's yummy! Next time I'll try adding salt - that sounds delish.

I like the PB flavor; these are much better than the Yasso (still working my way through 2 boxes; they are just meh.) Only one market near me sells these, and I rarely shop there, but it's worth the trip in my opinion.

I would be interested in that magazine, as long as the photos were of women who were truly over 45 and all shapes and sizes. I don't care if the photos are airbrushed - I care that they represent diversity. (If you've ever suffered the indignity of shopping from a plus size catalog that uses regular models who are slim and…

Here's what's worked for me:* Weigh and measure all food in grams or ounces. Do not use cup measures or eyeball, except for low calorie, non-starchy veggies. * Use a heart rate monitor at the gym to determine calories burned; eat some or all of them back, depending on how hungry I am. I have my calories set to 1440. I've…

This would aggravate me no end! Especially the message it sends to "Junior" (That's what I'm calling your 23 year old colleague who doesn't have to take a turn.)

Which flavor do you use? Vanilla? (I just went to their website to check them out - I would *love* to break up with my sugar and creamer!)

Just don't assume trainers are qualified to give nutrition advice by virtue of the fact that they are fitness trainers. They may have personal opinions and preferences, but advising on diet and nutrition are not part of their education unless they have taken an additional degree or certification. (So says my trainer.…

Wow, you look SO MUCH younger! It's really remarkable. You look like the younger sister of your "before" picture. Great work!

As someone who is relatively new here (and hasn't seen sugar addiction debated to death yet) this has been a really interesting read. Both in life and online, I totally agree that words have meaning and we can't simply ascribe different meanings to them out of convenience, or worse, to avoid culpability. That said, I keep…

Amy, be strong and also be careful. I haven't read all the replies so I don't know if this has been brought up yet, but your husband is clearly pushing to make this your decision; most likely this is for emotional reasons (he does not want to see himself as the guy who leaves his wife and kids for another woman) but later…

I actually do think you should deprive yourself in the beginning, just to get the cravings under control. Someone just posted about craving sugar in the Recipe section, and asked for healthy recipes for sweets; here's what I wrote: "I would ease up on the sugar and sugar substitutes for at least a few weeks; eliminate if…

Pretty much this. I would ease up on the sugar and sugar substitutes for at least a few weeks; eliminate if you can, but if not, then really cut down. It's gonna suck for a while, but the reward is you'll find your sugar cravings really diminish, and you'll be satisfied with much less. Back when I did Weight Watchers, I…

I didn't mean to imply it was all about our necks! But I think it's part of the whole picture, don't you? We can't just be competent, agile, good at our jobs. The assumptions about older people not adapting to new technologies and new ways of doing things can easily be attirbuted to us - deserved or not. Part of the reason…

I avoid refined sugars and starchy stuff; I just feel better when I do. I've cut them out completely in the past, so I still have a few tricks up my sleeve. I make this Vegetable Chickpea Curry in a slow cooker, divide, and freeze. Use frozen veggies to reduce prep time. I make the following adjustments for taste…

One day last week I went to bed w/out preparing my lunch or gym bag for the next day; An all-day meeting meant no gym time before work, and lunch would be catered. Got up the next day, stumbled around the house, left late, forgot my laptop and had to return home to get it. What's the NSV? My evening and morning routines…

I love this!

Ladies, please tell me there is help for turkey wattle . I've lost 22lbs and have about 65 lbs to go. I have noticed loose skin on my neck/under my chin that has become very pronounced. I actually have one of those neck/chin exercisers I bought years ago on a whim, and now wish I'd been using it. (Don't laugh! I…

Some of the best advice ever! (Right up there with "log everything starting out to see where your calories are coming from.") After a decade of "I'll start over on Monday" (even if my slip-up was on a Tuesday or Wednesday of the previous week!) I have adopted this attitude with good success. Once you get into the groove,…

OP, I feel you - for many years I had this schedule, brought work home, took lunch at my desk, etc. If you work in a service-based job, the expectations and competing priorities can make even taking a bathroom break hard to manage. Do you take conference calls? My office relies heavily on them as we are scattered around in…

Well, I don't WANT to be ashamed over anything about my body, either ... but I am  so I'll just try to focus the attention on something else when someone comments

Me, too! I have found a lot of yogurts I like, but deep down, I am really wishing they were pudding  ETA: Just read your follow up; bummer.

Bumping up this thread because I had a similar question. Yesterday, my knees hurt so I took it easy on the elliptical where I'd normally be doing HIIT. (My goal is to lose weight and my trainer recommended HIIT to burn fat). I just stayed on longer and hoped to compensate a little. At the end of my workout, I'd burned more…

I tell people that I've lost some, but mostly "rearranged" it with resistance training. You can always tell them you don't know exactly how much you've lost - that you stopped weighing yourself at 50# lost (or whatever number you pick.). Not exactly true, but it subtly tells people not to be concerned with the exact number…

Me, too. I can't really put my finger on why, but I dread people mentioning it. It's probably because I feel a lot of shame over how unfit I had become. I'm happy to be losing the weight, but I don't want it to be a topic of discussion at work (or really anywhere.)

Only 220 for 60 minutes, but I was using a snow blower for about the first half hour, and the last 10 min I was only clearing off my car. MFP wanted to give me over 600!

When you strap on your HR Monitor before going out to shovel snow becuase you've been hungry since after that morning's workout and you want to be able to eat even more

Yep; consuming more than 3g of protein in my little snack muffin will lead to kidney failure and/or bone loss. OR, more likely, better mental clarity and less hunger 'til lunch time.. Thanks everyone for the helpful suggestions; Can't wait to try some of them. First I have over a dozen 180 calorie muffins to work…

This exactly. I don't know what having a lot or a little to lose has to do with it; I have lost my first 20 out of 85 and I always weigh the important stuff. I have never weighed an egg, or lettuce or broccoli, for example, and I doubt I ever will.

Has anyone posted about these yet? Oreo thin mint cookies - 4 cookies = 140 calories. They remind me of a Girl Scout cookie without the layer of chocolate on the outside. The color of the mint cream is a little scary though :worried:

Oh, good to know. I searched a bit before posting this and saw some references to protein powder creating a gooey result in baking. haha! Maybe someone will try this, but pork is not a meat I eat. So you just use regular whey w/no gooey results? Good to know. As for the chocolate chips, maybe I should have added those to…
