Although these are good low-calorie options, these are both notoriously high in sodium.

Good thing that he's an EX! You deserve so much better than that!

Grammar drill sergeant. At heart, at least. I manage to restrain myself in most situations. But every time someone misuses 'to, too, and two' or 'they're, their, there' or 'your, you're' a little piece of me dies inside.

- Having to remind myself to take the levels down while leading my yoga class. - Telling people that I'm double-majoring and have two jobs. - The 'tough guy' next to me on a cardio machine working at level 1 while I'm at 20, going the same pace. - Running the mile to work with a backpack, making it in 6 minutes.

I run a 6 minute mile to work in the mornings when I'm running late. Not so bad, considering I'm wearing restricting pants and carrying a backpack. Otherwise, I don't know. 6.4 on a treadmill with an incline of 3 if I ever do go treadmilling.

Most likely the quote refers to both. In my experience, it's quality that makes the most immediate difference. If I eat high-sodium, high-carb foods under my daily calories, I'll look more bloated than if I went over my calorie limit by eating veggies, fruits, and lean meats. But that's just my experience.

Man, you're just naturally gorgeous no matter what! I can't even imagine what a heart-breaker you'll be when you reach your goal weight. Keep up the great work!

Also pullups (supported with a foot on a chair is fine, still effective).
-
Which one will you be most likely to use on a nearly-daily basis? In which will you push your hardest?

I wish! If we're brainstorming here, what about a scale that broke down your weight loss into fat, muscle, water, and "other"? Then you'd get a really great idea of how effective your regimen really is!

Never done it. But good luck! It sounds like it might work in transitioning to the whole "5-6 small meals" concept. Side-note: I will be surprised if some people don't just read only the title, then post "zomg don't eat just once a day!" responses.

I would consider it a fantastic day!

I used to do my cardio in 22-24 minute measures. 22 minutes is usually how long a half hour show runs on Hulu :)... so I would watch that and do a high-intensity cardio circuit (jumping, high knees, jumping jacks, scissors, horizontal scissors, and the like) in place while watching that show. Sometimes I'd do a 40 minute…

I would say "Calisthenics" either heavy duty or moderate. Also account for the rest periods during the boot camp.

Agreed. If she wants to go on a certain diet, who is anyone else to judge? We're supposed to be supportive here, not negative. People are in their own rights to experiment and see what works. Being told, "You're setting yourself up for failure." while seeing great success is quite a troublesome contradiction. If it works,…

Yes, in that it's possible to lose 30 pounds in 2 weeks. No, in that there's no rightly way she lost that much fat. I'm guessing there was foul-play involved. She was probably severely dehydrated by the end, too.

You don't. At least not weight in fat. How long has your friend been doing this, and how accurate are these numbers? How often does she weigh herself? Is this a new development of suddenly 3 pounds in a week? If so, it may be a different scale, water retention, weighed before a bowel movement, TOM, etc, etc.... Does she…

I do the following: Teach yoga and pilates twice a week dance running weight training calisthenics tae bo walking Gym cardio machines (good for studying!) Hostessing at a restaurant (<kicks my behind more than any of the above-mentioned) I do two or more of the above every day, for a minimum of an hour. If you need…

I accept this challenge.

 Singles thread about people's own lack-of-relationships? It's bound to be depressing. But I have a good thing to say: I am 3 weeks single, from a relationship that was 'official' for only 2 weeks. We dated last year as well, for a month. We remained friends even after the breakup. He was my first boyfriend, and my…

Liquid calories help. Look for nutritional shakes (Boost, Ensure, Carnation are a few brands). Soymilk and whole milk are also good. You can mix protein powder in water or milk to boost the nutritional content, too. Also, high-calorie foods like nuts and dried fruit will be useful. Just munch on some in your down-time and…

Do you have weights? You could still do bicep/tricep/chest/back work for the arms without straining your shoulder. As for cardio, search for Billy Blanks and Jane Fonda on youtube ;) Free and accessible.

soy milk, soya vegan cheese (good melted on bread), hard-boiled eggs with pepper

Is it out of the question to be a dolphin?

:drinker: to the phone-talking I teach yoga, and someone did that during my class.

My ideal is a size 2-3. Right now I'm a 4-6 depending on where I shop.

bump. I'm going camping next week, too, and I was just wondering the same thing! Well, low-carb, low-sodium types of food, anyways.
-
youtube has lots of great free workout videos that you can do at home. Billy Blanks is my favorite thing to look up when I can't make it to the gym.

Hm... no and yes. JUST cardio would be the worse. With weight lifting, it's possible to incorperate cardio via high intensity interval training. Bodyweight workouts (such as calisthenics and plyometrics, gymnastic, and the like) are also very effective strength-and-cardio combinations. Last year I lost weight and got…

I've tried so many different things that people have advised... "Munch on veggies" "Do yoga" "Read a book" "Keep busy to get your mind off of it" But for me, the most effective method for coping with stress in a non-binging way is to take my mp3 player, go outside, and walk and brood for as long as I need to. Even if it's…
