Sturgis was a great example of manipulation/misrepresentation. Someone in an ivory tower worked their spreadsheet algorithm magic and projected 260,000 infections. It was all over the news. Actual numbers were under 500 cases, though it may be higher now. Couldn't find a recent tally.

I agree, attractiveness is definitely what catches your eye and it's instinct. However, Success and money catch your attention, it's more cerebral and our reaction may even be negative

backhanded compliment. An insult disguised as a compliment. "It's the way an insult is received that makes it an insult. You can't really give offense unless someone takes it." In a Harvard Business School paper titled Backhanded Compliments: How Negative Comparisons Undermine Flattery, authors found that "people who…

Why not put it on bread? I like an open face toast with a layer of avocado and tomato slices, + salt and pepper. I also go healthy on the bread using 'Dave's Killer Bread'

My go to thickening agent is tapioca flour which is cheap, gluten free, and readily available (especially in Asian Groceries).

Have you thought about making them also do a short workout, even if it's just some pushups, situps & squats. No game time unless they do the one set of each?

I would suggest one's initial focus be just on habit changes rather than scale results; exercise and diet changes/tracking. Feel good about your regular exercise and how you are eating better. Then after a couple weeks you have a new rhythm and it becomes much easier to start tweaking your habits for increased weight loss.…

A work around I've used is to go to tomorrow (clean slate) and enter the recipe as a meal, then save it as a 'meal' then delete all the entries to clean up your log When I use it, I would add 0.25(?) Meals to approximate the amount

After COVID my main side effect was to easily feel winded or short of breath. I was only going for moderate walks before and after, not a serious exercise routine. I'd say it took 4 wks after I recovered before I stopped feeling like there was an impact.

This is something everyone should check regularly, how hot is it out of the tap. The heater may be off or someone may have fiddled with the setting after a cold shower. I had to do this when I worked in a youth group home, to prevent youths from getting accidentally scalded.

Goal weight:<250 (end of 2021) Starting weight: 304 (1/1) Current weight: 300 Total weight lost: 4 This week's successes: Still tracking everything, and starting to be less hungry and going under cal goals. This week's challenges: Didn't up my steps. Next week I will increase my daily steps.

Don't worry, a 'calorie deficit' will definitely work for you. The challenge is in accurately recording what you eat. Also, pay attention to your macros and start with a target of no more than 1 lb a week, don't be too aggressive until you are into a healthy eating rhythm. Can you expand on where/how you are struggling?

Allow yourself to be a little weird ;) Hopefully your new roomie is more supportive than your ex. My explanation to people is "I'm not very good at estimating weights and amounts."
-
Much of the original weight loss could have been from your new healthy diet releasing retained water and more fiber moving stuff along your GI tract. Now that you are in a new rhythm, pay attention to your recent weekly trend and weigh-in with the same conditions, like first thing in the morning after using the bathroom

I just bought one, to have at work. Almost bought the above Accuweight but went with Etekcity's 15$ scale https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B08H7Z2W98/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o01_s02?ie=UTF8&psc=1 So many good options for $10-20, just think through where/how you are going to use it. I wanted to make sure it was easy to…

Yes layering is the key. I would add that the 'jacket' should just be a good wind/water shell rather than padded. Then you can use it through 3 seasons by changing your sub layers. The jacket should be easy to adjust the zip/venting while running, or easy take it off and tie around your waist after you've warmed up.

In my distant past I used to make a pot of Earl Grey or English Breakfast Tea, but the past decade i rarely drink tea. Presently to up my water intake I've recently been drinking weak green tea or barley tea (Korean). I have a supersized mug where I put in a single tea bag and just keep adding hot water throughout the day.…

Eating <2k calories with your body mass and modest activity must lose weight over time. The math just doesn't work out for you to be maintaining, so you need the find the error. Either you are eating more calories, or you weigh much less than 295 lbs ;) .

One elderly neighbor had a sign up in his window telling our family to leave town, we were one of the rare Catholic families in the small town.

Explain how the below 'inaccuracies' indicate I am not relearning the impacts of my choices? - instead of counting each peanut M&M, I took a swag at how many servings I had. I still logged several hundred calories leading me to stretch the remainder of the 'share size' bag to last for several days. - instead of weighing my…

If this theory of our DNA prescribing our weight was true, then why have Americans gained so much weight in the past 50 yrs?

How's a hospital to judge the quality of random masks that staff procured. For liability and other reasons, it would be a challenge for hospitals to freeform PPE during a pandemic.

What's important is your home scale does not support the trend of a significant increase. The balance scales with a moveable weight require regular calibration and are more prone to user error. I too suggest throwing out the second Dr measurement as false due to user error.

Yea, it will continue in waves, but we are also vaccinating close to 1million a day, within the the population at highest risk of exposure or highest risk of serious outcomes. The case fatality rate should be dropping even if the infection rate remains troublesome.

Recently watched this YouTube video, with two 'known' experts discussing Vit D. I really like how John Campbell presents the science around COVID. Mr David Davis MP and Vitamin D

I just bought a cheap food scale, to keep at work. I won't use it on everything but it will help me train my brain to better estimate weights.
-
If you want a precise estimate, then YOU should take the time to create a recipe. But it sounds like you are willing to swag it. Myself, I regularly swag homemade things I rarely make. I'll enter Progresso soup etc. Just search 'spaghetti meat sauce' and pick your best guess.
-
My suggestion is to try log everything but don't aim to be perfect. I keep it fast and simple by frequently swagging stuff instead of searching for an exact match to what I made/ate. I might log Quick Add calories or a close commercial brand (Progresso soup instead of loading my home made recipe). Even if the calories…

take a look at the Polar H10 or Garmin HRM-Dual. Both companies provide an app for your phone.
