  • try the men's section- they generally run much bigger.
  • I make mine with milk rather than yogurt, so it's much less thick. I usually use about 90g of skim milk, 45g of muesli, and sliced fruit (berries, bananas, mangos, etc- whatever fits). Love it- fills me up and is incredibly delicious and refreshing.
  • 170 lbs, which is actually the heaviest I've ever been. I'm at around 133 now. God high school was awful (for that and many other reasons).
  • I'm travelling next week too, for a week and a half. My plan is to bring gym clothes with the goal of going for a run 3 times while I'm gone. As far as food, I'm planning on buying yogurt, fruit, and granola bars for breakfast and snacks, and sandwiches or salads with nutritional info from the grocery for lunch. That just…
  • Now that I'm in France for a bit, I shop at Monoprix, which is the French version of Target, for staples. I go to the vegetable stand for veggies and a boulangerie for bread if I have the time, but if I don't I'll get them at Monoprix too. I also buy things at Picard, which is an all-frozen food store but has some really…
  • 5'3" here! CW is 138, heigh weight was 177 (or more... at that point I didn't want to know), and my goal weight is 125. Feel free to add!
  • epicurious.com/recipes/food/views/Quinoa-with-Grilled-Zucchini-Garbanzo-Beans-and-Cumin-242997 Made this for dinner this week and it is delicious. If you divide it into 4 servings instead of 6 and reduce the oil to 40 grams instead of 5 tablespoons, you can turn it into a filling main dish for only 350 or so calories a…
  • I weigh myself every day, but I only log losses (aside from when I gained weight on vacation, when it was genuine gain and not just fluctuations/a bad day). It helps me stay accountable while not obsessing over the small fluctuations.
  • I'm 5'3" and I've lost about 35+ pounds from my peak weight. I went from a size 12 to wearing a 6ish and while I still want to lose around 13 more pounds, I look almost unrecognizable from how I used to be. My peak weight was about a year ago, but I lost most of the weight since starting MFP in August. The nice thing about…
  • The first time I tried Couch to 5k, last May, I was so sore after the first day that I couldn't sit at my desk without it hurting. I kept at it and got to week 5 before a month-long trip derailed me, but I kept working out even afterwards. It's totally normal to be really sore when you've been sedentary for awhile. Just…
  • Family reunion this summer! Last time anyone saw me I was about 30-35 lbs heavier, so I'm really hoping to lose the last 15 by then and shock them all when I get off the plane in June. ;)
  • I just eat it with moderation. If I know I'm going to have a splurge meal, I also try to plan it for dinner, so that I can have a light breakfast and lunch and then work out to make room for it in calories.
  • Buy healthy snacks and keep them around the house before you get stressed- that way you can go straight to fruit instead of a Taco Bell drive through when you feel snackish. Also, drink lots of water or tea while studying. It both keeps you alert and helps forestall cravings.
  • Usually what I do is make my drunk days maintenance days, and try to leave about 400 calories at the end of the day aside from that. I find that's usually enough to allow me to have a good time without paying for it the next day. I only really do this about twice a month or so, though.
  • 21 years old with about 15-17 pounds left to lose! My goal is to lose it all and be firmly on maintenance by July 1st, when I'm leaving for my family reunion. Last time anyone in my family saw me I was about 25-30 pounds heavier than I am now, so I'm really looking forward to showing up 40 pounds lighter and overall in a…
  • Thank you for your replies and for the sorely needed perspective. Between that and exercising for the first time in awhile, I'm feeling much more positive about things. :)
  • I noticed a positive correlation between the amount of tea and coffee I drink and how much weight I lose, but I think it's mostly because tea and coffee has replaced soda in my diet, and warm drinks tend to make me feel fuller and less likely to snack. Caffeine in and of itself doesn't do enough for your metabolism to make…
  • It took about 7.5 months, but I only started doing MFP seriously about 4 months ago and lost 19 of the 31 I've lost so far in that period. Don't sweat the timeline, and focus on building healthy habits that you can sustain when you're done losing weight.
  • My resolution is to hit my goal before my family reunion in June! 16 pounds to go (in addition to the ~30 I've already lost).
  • Yeah, I usually either log in less time or change the amount of calories MFP says I burned (i.e. if it says I burned 300 calories, I'll change it to 250).
  • 5'3" Started out at 170, now at 142 No idea what size I am (still wearing my bigger clothes! Much to my frustration)- possibly a 6? 8? I was a 10-12 before losing weight. Current goal is 125, but that may be revised up or down as I get closer to it and decide whether or not it's too much/not enough.
  • I think that'd work mostly psychologically, because if you have a set plan for eating for the rest of the day then you're less tempted to freestyle it and overeat while doing so. That's why I try to bulk-make a lunch on Sunday so I don't have the temptation to buy a giant sandwich instead. I don't think I could do it for…
  • Certified Diet Coke addict here! Every day, usually two a day. I'm losing weight at exactly the rate I should be at my calorie deficit, so I don't think it's having much of an effect.
  • Making stovetop popcorn in a pot is great for this. 3 tablespoons popcorn+1/2 tablespoon oil=A delicious bowl of popcorn at only 180 calories.
  • Whole wheat cereal with skim milk or nonfat Greek yogurt with granola are my go-tos. I occasionally splurge with a slice of pie or some eggs and hash browns, but those are rare.
  • SW: 166 CW: 152 GW: 147 (Oct) GW: 130 (Final Goal) 10/1: 150 10/8: 152 10/15 10/22 10/28 Hopefully it's not too late to join in, is it? I started off the month well, but I fell off the wagon the past few days due to a friend's birthday dinner and party, and then a trip to my parents'. Hopefully having someone to be…
  • My goal is to get to 135, which is 16 pounds away. I've already lost 15 pound, probably closer to 20 since I didn't weigh myself when I was at my true peak weight (recorded peak was 166). If I get to 135 and feel the need, I'll try to go to 125. I got to 159 without MFP by eating healthier and a combination of C25k and a…
  • 5'3". My highest recorded weight was at 166, but I suspect it was actually quite a bit higher since I started losing weight before I weighed myself. Started working out at May '13, and started consistently logging at the end of August this year. I'm at 152 now, which is the lowest I've weighed since Middle School, and I'm…
  • SW: 156.8 GW: 150 Self Challenge: continue losing weight during the Jewish holiday season! It seems all we do is sit and eat, so we'll see how that goes.
