I show off my car because of the hard work I've put into it and mainly because my car looks better in photos than I do.

Great story and congrats! Good luck with those final pounds.
-
Sorry to hear about your situation, but I'm glad to hear that you've got a good activity to escape to. I hope you are able to stay strong throughout the upcoming hardships.
-
Congratulations, keep up the good work!
-
Congratulations! I'm in the same boat, I started about a year ago and never thought I'd enjoy running either.

My car... I can get away from zombies a hell of a lot easier in my car than by running.

My uterus hasn't fallen out yet... at least not to my knowledge.

I found a good workout partner. We motivate eachother, which helps a lot! I have also found that if I record my calories beforehand and edit them as the day goes along, it helps me to stay on track.

I'm sorry for your loss. I've lost friends before but not a parent and I'm dreading that day. In times of grief what has helped me out the most has been to find an escape; something that I can put all my energy into, so that I'm focusing on just that one thing. When I lived near a park and times were really bad, I would…

I've had a few chocolate Easter eggs already. As long as they fit into my calories for the day, it's no big deal to me. Easter Sunday will be a big day of eating for me. We meet up with my in-laws at the Wildwood, NJ boardwalk and eat our way from one end to the other. That usually includes cheese fries, pizza, icecream…

"You can do it!" - from the movie, "Waterboy"

I can't do anything more on the treadmill oter than trying not to fall off. I give you props for being able to conduct an entire orchestra while you're on the treadmill. lol

I slipped for a week while I was on a cruise. When I got back, I printed out the reports of my body fat% and weight and put it nearby along with a note that says, "Think twice about that snack." It has worked pretty well for me.

My wife and I do cardio kick boxing and circuit training offered at the local dojo where I used to train in martial arts. There's a great group of people who always go which really helps the long day issues. Also, going with my wife helps for those long days, because she provides motivation as well as competition... and…

Everything! I primarily work from home, so anytime I feel hungry, I have to fight myself from walking into the kitchen and rummaging through the fridge.

We bought a treadmill from Walmart and it's been functioning surprisingly well for the last 18 months. It's a ProForm Cross Track 390. It appears that they don't sell them anymore, but they may have something comparable. The heart rate monitor is crap, but the programs are good and I can run on it for over 40 minutes at…

I lost 2.2 pounds since last Friday, that puts me at just under 205 pounds. I haven't been this weight in over 8 years! Getting down to my goal weight of 195 pounds is looking plausible now.

I've got 12 lbs to go as well. If anybody would like to add me, I can use the support as well.

Everybody else is posting low calorie burns, so I'm glad to hear this! Using my Sportline HRM, it says that I burned 345 calories for Level 1 and 355 calories for Level 2. That's with me being 33 years old, 210 pounds and 5'9".

That's great, I was hoping to hear some results like that. Hopefully my body will react the same way when I do it.
-
Thanks for the responses. I'm looking to lose some weight, but mainly build up my endurance. I'm hoping to be able to complete a 10 - 12 mile mud run in October
-
My wife is dieting too, so we reward ourselves weekly by knocking off an exercise day, or getting a tasty treat. My reward at the end will be to compete in and hopefully complete a Tough Mudder course.

Listen to what has been said, the biggest thing is not to get discouraged. The only advice I can offer is when you have a splurge day (hopefully only one every once in a while) make sure you savor everything and enjoy the moment, because the next day you may be regretting it.

That sounds like the right kind of inspiration. I agree, go for it!
