Thanks for weighing in on the subject all. lloydrt - I definitely agree with you. BMI isn't the best tool. My ultimate goal weight is still considered obese. Ultimately I think the most important thing is that people are healthy. That can be something very different for everyone. My biggest concern is that companies aren't…

I bought 2 pairs of these from Target for roughly $10. http://store.sony.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?catalogId=10551&storeId=10151&langId=-1&productId=11035989 First pair lasted 4 years. Super cheap, good sound. And if something happens to them, not a big deal.

I personally think it depends on the individual. From my non-nutritional background, my understanding is that artificial sweeteners trick your body into thinking that it is tasting something sweet. However, when it doesn't actually get something that is sweet, it makes up the difference in glucose. This can actually…

I love almonds, especially Blue Diamond Almonds like Jalapeno Smokehouse. I know some people don't care for them, but I have been eating Think Thin protein bars, lower sugar count, with some good protein.

I have been a member of LA Fitness since October of last year. Once you get past the sales pitch, it is a very nice gym. Staff is really cool. I have been working with a personal trainer since January and highly recommend it. They are pretty willing to work with you budget so that you can get some training in. Definitely…

Sorry to hear that you aren't feeling well after workouts. You mentioned that you eat some protein before the workout, but what is your overall calorie intake like? Only speaking from experience in that when I go workout and don't have enough calories in the system to support it, I also feel like I am going to pass out. In…

I think at the very least, people will have the ability to make informed choices. I'll admit, there have been days where I have had something to eat, knowing it was far to many calories than I should have eaten. But with this change, I won't make those choices by mistake. For example, I won't eat a 1200 calorie salad…

Hello All, Sorry about not having the correct date for today's weigh-in. My sister got married this weekend and I didn't have a chance to add in the new date. Should be good to go now! I will post the progress chart asap. Happy Monday!

Great work everyone! Weighed in at 259.6 today. Down 4.6 pounds from last week. Done with 260's!

Hmm...how many calories are you taking in each day?

Good Morning All! Weighed in at 264.2 today, that is 2.2 lbs down from last week. Woo hoo! Great work everyone! Keep it up!

Welcome to MFP! There is a ton of great support on here. I am working on dropping a bunch of weight myself. Feel free to add me as a friend if you like!

Congrats! You definitely are in a great place. This site has helped me a lot. Lots of great support here! Feel free to add me as a friend if you like, and I wish you all the best!

You can do it! You already got 75% of the way there. We all take steps back, it is just part of the process. Don't get discouraged. If it was easy, it wouldn't be work, lol! Two things that I did was up my water intake and watch my sodium. (You can add that to the list of things that MFP tracks) What do you think caused…

Thanks for the responses all! I do think it is a very interesting topic. It does make things easier having the cals available on our smart phones. I just think that some restaurants bury the info, if they post it at all, while Subway prints it on the napkins. I would have thought the info would have caused more of a…

Hello CynthiaCollin and the rest of the team, I am qkiley and would love to join the crew if possible. I started MFP at 279 and am currently at 266.6. For my own health, and the weddings I have coming up, I would love to drop at least another 30lbs. I think this group would be a big help!

Hey, don't worry about it to much. I myself have had those days. The best thing about MFP is it makes you aware of those days so that you can keep them to a minimum. Just focus on getting back on track. What might help in the future is to have a treat figured into your daily goals. By having something small everyday, it…

The Snap Fitness gyms do vary. I would definitely tour your gym before you go. I was at a Snap Fitness for a year and loved it! Some classes (classes were extra), personal training (extra, and worth it!), and never had to wait for equipment. My gym did have a shower, but no locker room. I really did like that gym, but…

Thank you so much for all of your responses. I really appreciate it! You confirmed my train of thought. Like you all said, I am keeping my goals small and working on it day by day. I will probably be asking more questions as the days go on. Thank you again!

Thanks for sharing, that is a great idea! Just my two cents, I have found something that helps me when going out to eat is to choose my meal before I go. That way, I can figure out what calories I can budget for. Thank you for sharing your idea. I will definitely use that next time I go out!
