  • I am a SAHM of 6, glad to have you here. Add me if you want. Great job on your 12 pounds so far. That is REALLY awesome!
  • I am so sorry to hear about your situation. You will be in my prayers as you make this decision.
  • Wow, that is really great. Way to go!!!
  • Glad to know it is not just me feeling that way. Thanks for validating me. I thought the same thing about the Aqua team, they probably would not lose as much with the change in diet. I loved how he went right across those monkey bars, rocked everyone - who then were like, "I wasn't too impressed". If Conda would work her…
  • Top with some grilled chicken, sauteed spinach, and sauce, really good.
  • Wow, that is awesome. I can't imagine you needing to still lose 18 pounds. Nice work. Thanks for the inspiration.
  • My primary exercise was running for a long time and I loved it because it was my time alone, outside, and one of the few things I did just for myself. I did several races and it was great. I started doing the 30 day shred and running, alternating days, and I noticed a change in my upper body and back, they became much…
  • I don't know how to explain letting myself feel something. I k now when I am stressed, or upset, chocolate is what I reach for (like a whole bag of it, not just a handful. I could down a bag of chocolate chips in a matter of an hour). I am starting to write down what it is that is stressing me, or just validating what it…
  • Is there a trainer at your gym? Many gyms have a 1 time meeting with the trainer for free. It may be worth asking them so that you are starting in the right spot. Good luck!!
  • Just read a few of the "skinny rules" from bob harpers new book (coming out in May ) on Amazon.com. One of them was to have an indulgence once a week. Just FYI. Bob rocks!!!
  • I tend to self sabotage, so my plan is one day a month I can eat whatever I want. I really have a chocolate problem, and caramel, etc. But, if I tell myself, I can have that later - instead of BAD FOOD- it has helped. Good luck. I think you just do what works for you. We are doing chinese tomorrow.
  • Our new favorite recipe is smores using the honey grahams cereal. Mix honey grahams, mini marshmallows, and chocolate chips, put it in a 9 by 13, heat in oven (I think 350) until marshmallows and chocolate are melty, and then remove. I let it cool bc it is a little messy. Cut into pieces, may be sticky. These are good. I…
  • I self sabotage as well. I think I am afraid of succeeding at this part of my life. What happens next when I lose those last 15 to 20 pounds? Also, I look at my parents marriage and my dad had several affairs. I know there is a fear in me that if I look that much better that I might make some of the same choices he did-…
  • I have 6 kiddos (13, 11, 7, 5, 3, and 1) - plus my husband who counts as a kid at times. I have 15 to 20 more I want to lose, so add me as a friend if you are in need of support. Hope you have a good rest of your week. Glad you are here.
  • When training for my races last year, if I was running more than 6 miles I had whole wheat toast with PB and sliced banana right before I ran. I had to change my exercise routine, so now I do DVD's in the early AM. I don't eat anything before I do them, they are about an hour.
  • I have been told that some of that "roll" is scar tissue and won't go away without surgery. I have had 5 c sections and 1 V back and feel like that "roll" is my "badge of courage". If you are really self conscious about it you may want to look into a tummy tuck if you have lost everything else but that little roll. Good…
  • 6, carried them all.
  • That is hard for me too. I have made the rule that after school and after dinner snacks are fruit, veggies, yogurt, toast, occasionally hot chocolate, and a dessert if I make it. That is helping a lot. I have to be very conscious of what I am putting into my mouth. I literally could eat all day and not feel full. People…
  • cut up a couple of very ripe bananas and put them in the freezer for an hour or so. Put them in a food processor and turn it on. They get crumbly and then all of a sudden turn creamy. To me, they taste like Ben and Jerry's chunky monkey ice cream (without nuts and chocolate of course). It is really very good and worth…
  • Exactly what you just wrote triggers me to reach for the chocolate. Also, if I am stressed about something coming up. I need to just write down what it is I am feeling and then write in capital letters next to it, "FOOD WILL NOT MAKE THIS ISSUE GO AWAY!!!!!!!!!!"
  • oops, I did something wrong. Okay, on the toothbrush thing, we have issues with other stuff and I have started paying my kids a penny. I know, pathetic, but it works. My daughter gets 2 pennies if she goes to the bathroom with out me helping her. It worked for a few weeks, and then she forgot about the pennies, so I…

  • I hear you!!! My 3 year old is a pill to get to sleep at night. I can't do it at night, I am too tired (I have 6 kids, lots of running around). Earlier I heard Dr. Oz say that the most important things for your health in order are: 1) Your sleep 2) your diet 3) Exercise I decided to work out only 4 times a week instead and…

  • I watched Dr. Oz on Rachael Ray and he said the most important things for you to do in order are: 1) Get enough sleep 2) Eat right 3) Exercise I was surprised because I always thought that exercise was most important. For me, I am starting to focus on my eating more and exercise less (4 times a week instead of 6) and…
  • Fantastic!!
