Go Goodwill for a couple of outfits and celebrate with a suitcase to carry your new stuff home :) Personally, I love Goodwill shopping - like an Aladdin's cave; many treasures... Understand the pounds (kilos here :) ) not matching the size issue. I have dropped 2 sizes (going for 3!) but only lost 11kg. Definitely the…

I agree with eating them up if you are exercising hard. Otherwise you may find you don't have the energy to burn, which in turn, can lead to frustration with exercising. Use those calories wisely. Think nutrition, not just numbers! This program has already worked out what you have asked to lose and the exercise calories…

Gi'day! I'm a vegetarian, local organic produce (markets and home garden). I am not strictly GF but do eat a high percentage of GF as we prefer to eat raw foods and GF grains tend to be the easiest as well as the yummiest! ( I still love my oats though.) I also recently left work which was working in a GF bakery helping to…

Hi! I joined 2 weeks ago today! I am a shortie too (160cm). Currently I am 71kg (what is that in lbs?) and I am aiming for 60kg as goal, even though that is considered on the high end of recommended. In the past (wayyyyy past :) ) that is where I felt my best. I have been lighter than that but didn't feel or look healthy.…

I have been a vegetarian for the last 20 years (more vegan but dairy and eggs sometimes stray into our food regarding friends who try and accommodate our eating style - made with love!) I am a 45 year old mum of 3 and have never had an iron issue. I know this because I donate blood every 3 months (Australia) and an Iron…

One of the nicest appetisers I have had recently (and I know it may seem strange :) ) was cucumbers cut into circles and topped (prettily!) with either pesto or roast capsicum relish/pesto or mushroom pate (low fat). They were delicious!!!! And I was told they are so quick to make! And the platter looked gorgeous, too!

Firstly humans are designed to eat some nuts, like walnuts and almonds, brazil and hazel nuts. However, you can get the nutrition offered from nuts from things like seeds, such as sunflower, pumkin, flax and chia. These are full of vitamins, minerals, omega 3,6 & 9!. You may also be surprised to find out that omegas are…

Hi all! I am 160lbs (had to convert that from here in Oz!) and have been with MFP for 1 week this Sunday. (New Year Resolution). I have lost around 10kg (20lb?) so far before starting this site. My main forms of exercise are running 5 - 10km a day (4days), swimming 1 km day (2days) and cycling 20km (1 day). The running is…

Thank you for that info.... I love to run, therefore I can burn around 1200cal at times. Now I can understand how this system works. I have only started this weight loss "plan' and wish to lose around 10kg to get to my best 'running' weight. My main concern was having enough energy to continue my love of running! Now I…
