  • Nerd here as well. Self processed sci-fi / fantasy ready. HUGE Warhammer 40k reader. I used to tabletop play but just don't have the time or money (or space!) for it anymore, so I get my 40k fix from books on the kindle (see, even when I read I read like a nerd) or the PS3/PC. I'm a huge WoW fan as well, both from the…
  • Ima leave this here for you.. http://www.smartmouth.com/ Try it..
  • Living in the west coast of Florida, we actually have 3 or 4 pretty large nudist colonies here. There's even a bowling alley nearby that once a month caters to one the nudist colonies right next to it. My dad always used to say that the majority of the people who are active at nudist colonies are the people you don't want…
  • I'm a fan of canned chicken or canned tuna myself for a meal. A full can of canned chicken (like the Daily Chef - Premium Chunk Chicken Breast In Water) is 60g of protein. Throw in two hard boiled eggs and some mustard to flavor and mix it up. I've even been doing some with Frank's Buffalo Sauce at 0 extra cals. You just…
  • I just finished W9D3 last week and "graduated" although I don't feel like a real runner yet. I've got my first EVER 5k this Saturday morning. I'm excited and nervous and scared about that one. I'm planning to keep going though, already looking for my next 5k in a month or two but I'm definitely not slowing down with…
  • I can tell you, I finished it three weeks ago now. Full 60 days. I absolutely loved it. I started P90X after and I just finished Week One of that. I couldn't recommend Insanity enough. Just think about it one day at a time. Don't think about the whole thing or how hard it is. Just press play and keep at it. Feel free to FR…
  • As others have suggested, use a HRM to accurately track. I finished my first round of Insanity last week and I couldn't recommend it enough. The first month I didn't use a HRM, so I was using the following site to track my calories.…
  • Hi all, W1D1 completed today. 2.04 miles in 30 minutes. Both of my kids (boy 13 and girl 11) are also doing it with me as well, so my pace is slowed a bit for the girl to keep up. Wife was even riding along on her bike. Not that this was easy by ANY means. I felt like I was dying every run! But I was pleased with the first…
  • Assume roughly 1lb/week as a rough guideline. You may have some weeks where you'll lose less, some weeks where you lose more. But if you're going with the 1lb/week MFP recommendation and you stick to your intake (that's the important part) by not going over, you'll move down that path. Throw in some good exercise / fitness…
  • So true. Even with a HRM, 400 calories doing a stationary bike and 400 calories of Insanity is a huge difference for me.
  • Keep in mind too, there's a lot more women here than there are us men. But having ALL women, yea that seems a bit off to me. I tend to not look at the sex of the person as much as I look at what they're doing and if the potential MFP friendship is going to be mutually beneficial to both of us..
  • Bumping to save for later, awesome job so far though. You may not feel the results but they're coming!!
  • I used to get that relatively frequently in the old app and still see it in the new app myself. It seems to be a refresh issue though because I've had a food that I've eaten show it has -315516534341123123545141 calories or something crazy. (Sure makes me feel like I can eat a lot for the day though - hah) but if I close…
  • If you've got a smartphone that supports it or a pedometer, track your steps.. I spent two days at Universal over the weekend and burned a ton of calories just walking all day (gotta love 13 hour days at a theme park! ugh - haha) That helps to offset some of the food, but yea, drink plenty of water and salad/fruit is just…
  • Awesome info. Thank you so much for this
  • Looking for friends and boy that does that sound lonely and desperate - hah. Currently doing Insanity as well but I'm open to any and all accountability.
  • Hey all. On my recovery week this week, but still trudging through as the friends I have here have seen from my workout updates. Really, really intimidated by next week starting Month Two. But I know I can force through it. Even doing the recovery week I'm finding I need to stop and breath. It's not so much that my muscles…

  • Good luck to you Sylwek.. I'm on my recovery week right now so I'll be starting Month 2 next Monday.. It's got me really intimidated too, I zipped through the video a few days ago and I was like "ugh.. I don't see how I can even DO that stuff!" I'll try to keep the suggestions everyone else has given you in mind for next…
  • Day 11 finished last night and doing Day 12 (Cardio Power & Resistance) tonight. The Cardio Recovery is certainly rough on my individual muscles, it just doesn't feel like my chest is trying to explode like I do on some of the cardios - lol. But ugh, my thighs and calves and arms and chest are so sore today. Nice blog…
  • Hi all. I'm Ryan. I'm on Day 8 of my first round of Insanity, looking for male friends (please don't take that the wrong way ladies - you're phenomenal, but I want to make sure my wife is 100% comfortable with my interactions here and I respect that completely. So if any guys are looking for motivation encouragement and…
  • So what do you guys recommend if you miss a day? I had a crazy day on Monday, which was Day 7 for me, and between work, family and a few other things that were blowing up, I just couldn't get the workout in. I felt really bad and guilty for skipping, but yesterday (Tuesday) I did Day 8 (Pure Cardio) instead of the Day 7.…

  • That's the downside that I'm stuck with though.. I'm not following the nutrition guide from Insanity.. Between the wife and the kids, I just don't know I can dedicate my meals to be so different than what they're eating. I'm staying under my daily caloric intake using MFP but yea, I think i'm probably going to suffer some…

  • Proton - Thanks for the link. Is that assuming 100% push? I wish I did plyo cardio last night at 100% - ugh.. But for instance, last night I did plyo cardio circuit. I put my weight in and the time. The time was a big question mark for me. Video itself is 40 minutes but should I could stretching? It's really probably 30…

  • Hi all.. new guy here to the group, looking to get some support/discussion. Today is Day 3 for me, looking forward to the workout tonight (with trepidation as well thinking back to the pain I had last night in the plyometric cardio - lol) Feel free to add me as a friend here on MFP. Looking to learn as much as I can. I've…

  • Thank you for this.. last night even on the first "real" day doing the plyometric cardio I was dying. The first part was first, but after the break and the stretching, when it moved into the floor stuff, doing the Level I drills.. ugh.. I'm just glad no one else was home at the time - lol. But I felt SO good finishing up…
  • Thanks lulu! Glad for some reassurance like that..
  • I did the fit test yesterday too and couldn't do the pushup jacks fully. I did ONE before I just collapsed and then did pushups from my knees. The whole concept of down to the floor and back up again was killing me, like in the suicide jumps. ugh. I hate it but i'm loving it! and I know you all know just what I mean!

  • I started yesterday too, did my fitness test. So looking forward the first real day tonight. I had started week one about a month ago and made it four days in before I had to stop, my schedule just got too rough and it was causing some marital issues with me working out, but that's all resolved now so I'm geared up and…
  • Just started my first round ever, day 1 fitness test finished yesterday and *ugh* looking forward to day 2 tonight. Wish me luck!
